A Portable Document Format (PDF) is a file format consisting of an electronic image resembling a printed document and can be viewed, printed, and electronically transmitted. PDF files can store various types of data, including formatted text, vector graphics, and raster images. The page layout defines the location, size, and shape of each page and each item on the page. The information looks the same no matter what device or program is used to open it.

Please see the attached (pardon my scratch!) pdf document of what I'm looking to do. The main reason for my decision to use PFSense is because my Meraki gear maxes out on the WAN side at 250Mbps. I now have a 1GB up/down and a 100/100 secondary circuit. I know that if I use gb cards on a pfsense system, I should get awfully close to 900 Mbps. Very new to pfsense, so the more help the better. :)IMG_0001.pdf

Got handed an odd project; looking for a solution that will open a PDF, then save it as text and there is no manipulation to the PDF; then open the next PDF and repeat the process until all PDF's within a given folder have been saved to text.

What are my options?

We receive emails with pdf invoices and need to save them to the folder. As mentioned we need to save it with current filename and add from the message body the invoice ID. It looks like this in the message: "The invoice number is: 7489. The invoice ID is: 5088." So we need that file to be named like this: 'current filename - invoice ID.pdf'. We use a macro to save those files and we'd like to ask how to modify it to get what we want. This is the macro we've been currently using:

Sub SaveAttachmentsFromSelectedMailItems()
Dim individualItem As Object
Dim att As Attachment
Dim strPath As String
Dim strFileName As String
Dim strExt As String
Dim dicFileNames As Object

    strPath = "C:\Test\"

    Set dicFileNames = CreateObject("Scripting.Dictionary")

    For Each individualItem In Application.ActiveExplorer.Selection
        If TypeName(individualItem) = "MailItem" Then
            For Each att In individualItem.Attachments

                If Not dicFileNames.exists(att.FileName) Then
                    dicFileNames.Add att.FileName, 1
                Else
                              If LCase(Right(strFile, 4)) <> ".pdf"
                    dicFileNames(att.FileName) = dicFileNames(att.FileName) + 1
                End If

                strFileName = Split(att.FileName, ".")(0)
                strExt = Split(att.FileName, ".")(1)

                att.SaveAsFile strPath & strFileName & "-" & …

I have the latest Adobe PDF reader installed on a window 10 64 bit machine.  I am forced to still use IE  11 for many reasons  What's happening when I try to open a PDF It tries to open but I get the following error: The is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader.  If it is running, please exit and try again (0:521). I have a few users with this issue and other than refreshing the page I can't think of anything that would fix this issue.  It's enabled in the add on in IE.  We tried uninstalling and reinstalling and that doesn't work either.

What do you recommend as a very light weight PDF Reader?
Adobe Acrobat Reader no longer works on a computer and I would like to get a light foot print PDF Reader for Windows 10.
Thanks in advance.

I'd like to know how to have a "fillable" pdf file on my website.

I need my customers to download the file, complete it, and send it back.

I assume I need to buy some kind of license from Adobe?  It's sortof like giving everybody access to Adobe Acrobat DC functionality for just that one file.

Or maybe, if that's either impossible or too expensive, an alternative solution might be just to share a Google Docs file?

Thanks

Is there a way to configure Chrome to open PDF links in the installed Adobe Reader DC - rather than opening them in the built-in viewer (which is not as capable) or downloading them (which is not as convenient)?

How to convert Base64 Encode format to pdf using Notepad++ (or) UltraEdit ?

We are not allowed to use any other third party tools.

I have an existing file which came to us in Base64 Encode format.  In order to review the file, we will have to convert the Base64 Encode to pdf file.

We have inherited a new site with an ageing terminal server.  On the terminal server they have Adobe Acrobat Standard 9, Version 9.0.0 which is used to edit PDF forms.  This is used by 50 users via the terminal server whilst the site only has one device copy of Adobe Acrobat Standard 9, Version 9.0.0.  Is this licensed correctly?

I know on more recent copies of Adobe you need one copy per user but I’ve been told on older copies such as this you can use it on a terminal server with one device licence.

It should have the following steps:
1. Allow user to choose the folder where all the pdf reside
2. Convert the .txt files
3. Ask user to select the designated folder to store the .txt files = "OK | CANCEL "

I am currently using "PDF-XChange Editor" to open .pdf files and then "Save As" .txt into a designated folder.

The .txt files should have the same name as the .pdf files.

Thanks.

Any personal recommendations for an adobe acrobat replacement?  Im looking for personal recommendations, not results from a google search.

Foxit is an option.  I want the full bells and whistles, ideally for circa. $50 or less.  Possibly with student discount or NHS discount if offered.

Do you know of any cheaper software other than acrobat that encrypts PDFs?

Looking for good recommendations.

Hello. I have a page where I am archiving newsletters.   On the right I have the newsletters listed and to the left I am displaying the most current edition.  The newsletters are just PDF files with multiple pages.  So to display them I used the <object> tag.  This is working but it is displaying the newsletters extremely small.  Even if I increase the width of the div the newsletter stays the same.  Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

This is how I'm displaying the PDF file:
<div class="news_container">
        <div class="pdf_content">
            <object data="../../Newsletter/2019/CIDD_Newsletter_Issue_April2019.pdf" type="application/pdf" width="100%" height="100%">
                <p>Your browser does not support PDFs.
                <a href="../../Newsletter/2019/CIDD_Newsletter_Issue_April2019.pdf">Download the PDF</a>.</p>
            </object>
        </div>

Open in new window

This is how I'm displaying the list of newsletters:
<div class="newsletter_list">
            <div style="padding: 4px 0px 4px 6px;">
                <a href="../../Newsletter/2019/CIDD_Newsletter_Issue_April2019.pdf" target="_blank">Current edition (April 2019) &raquo;</a>
            </div>
            <div style="margin-top: 6px; padding: 3px 0px 3px 6px; background-color: #e5e5e5;">
                Past Editions
           </div>
            <div style="padding: 4px 0px 4px 6px;">
         <a href="../../Newsletter/2018/CIDD_Newsletter_Issue_November_2018.pdf"

How did you set up PDF Manipulator?  I was able to successfully have it interact once I recreated our PDF document and named the fields.  However, did you copy all the PDF Manipulator tables and fields (see screen print) over into one of your Filemaker files?  I'm looking for a best practice more than one right answer.

I have been happily using Nuance Power PDF for years on my Windows computers, but need to find a comparable PDF program for my MAC (it doesn't appear as though Nuance Power PDF works on a MAC).  Most of what I do is "print to PDF", rarely actually using the PDF editing tools.  What program is best for this?  I would like to avoid a large learning curve - so hopefully the functionality will be similar to Nuance.

Thanks,

Phil

I have created a process flow chart in Visio Professional. I would like to add functionality where each shape has multiple hyperlinks. I would like users to be able to click on a shape and view the applicable hyperlinks. I'm trying to figure out a way to have multiple hyperlinks functional when exported to a PDF or webpage.

I haven't yet linked each shape to data (hyperlinks), but that would be the goal as well so this is easily updated. That part seems easy compared to the above request.

I have just a basic understanding of Visio.

The users in our office all access the RDS VM using a workstation. We have five licenses for the above Adobe product. For over a year I have had the email icon, which allows me attach the pdf file to an Outlook email (from O365). For reasons unknown to me, the icon is now gone and all attempts to replace it have failed.

It is checked on Show File Tools on the toolbar, and I cannot find any window which would allow me to add it. Every other user (who, of course, doesn't need it or use it) still has this email icon and email functionality.

Any suggestions as to why it is gone and how to get it back?

Of course, as I am typing this, I notice that when I click on Share on the top right I get the share column which opens when I click on the email. I can attach and email from there. It would save a step if the column was open by default.

Hello and Good Evening Everyone,

        I am needing to scan a certificate and save it for editing purposes.  Specifically speaking, I have a name on a certificate that has been misspelled and in need of correction.

        With respect to tools, I have an HP ENVY Photo 6255, a laptop running Windows 10, and Adobe Acrobat XI Pro.  If more information is needed, please feel free to let me know and it will be provided upon request.

         Thank you
