I am putting together a little program that I want to Display and Modify a PDF file. I want to display the PDF  from within my Application before and after I modify the PDF.
I have all the code working just fine BUT only when I run the code in DEBUG mode in VS 2017. Once I create the RELEASE version and install it the embedded PDF viewer will
will not work.

I am using  the  AxAcroPDF OCX, control and I am looking  for some help in understanding why the control will not work once 'Released'.

As a side note I am using PDFSharp and iTextSharp  to manipulate the PDF files.. I will post any and all code that may be necessary to resolve the 'Release' code problem.

Thanks in advance

The php script is called disp_summaryk.php & is referenced like this:

The displayed pdf file (in the browser Chrome) has one page ONLY showing. When I download the file & open it in Acrobat, it has 2 pages.

How can I modify the php script to show a multi page document?

Or maybe can I just direct the browser to directly display the file without needing this php program?

VSS and permission problemsI'm trying to clean a machine that randomly freezes.

I'm seeing lots of errors in the Event Viewer, some related to Permissions and VSS problems.

Can somebody please take a look at the screen snaps in the attached pdf file and try to make sense of them?  Thanks
HI there,

We run training courses and we like to make PDF copies of the PowerPoint slides available to delegates on our website.

Presently I use Wordpress for the site and make use of WooCommerce Memberships to control page access via delegates website accounts to see protected non public pages (these pages have direct links to the PDFs in them).

The problem that we have encountered is that Google can index the folder [apps/wordpress/htdocs/wp-content/course_content/course_X] and give anyone who searches with the right terms access to the PDF in the folder.

Is there a way I can restrict this folder so that only those clicking on the links in the protected webpage can be used to find the PDFs?

Many thanks,
quickbooks - creating and emailing invoices leads to QB generating a filename like Inv_####_from_companyname_#####random number.pdf.  The random numbers don't increment and there's no apparent pattern to them.

Need to find out how the random number at the end is derived, what it's used for, and why it's included in the invoice file name.  Also whether it can be removed.

What do you recommend for a good command-line PDF printer? I need to be able to specify scaling (and possibly paper size). My preference is for something with as little overhead as possible - I don't need any kind of GUI, etc. I'm just using this to take already created PDF's and send them to a Zebra label printer. A free program would be nice, but I'm happy to buy one provided I can test it first.

So far I've tried Fox-It and Summatra but they are both weirdly lopping off the top and/or bottom of my PDF's when I invoke them from a command line. (They print them perfectly if I open then program and print the PDF from there.)

Thanks in advance.

I am trying to edit the a form field in bluebeam revu extreme and I need to change the font size. I go into form editor and try properties but nothing happens. I look at tutorials and there is supposed to be a flyout with all the fields listed but I do not see that either. I am using version 2018.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have a PDF doc that has three pages. After the first pages is signed (signature field on first page) I would like to make all the fields on that first page. When I use the following code:
 for (var i = 0; i < this.numFields; i++) {
        var fname = this.getNthFieldName(i);
this.getField(fname).readonly = true; // makes all fields readonly

as you can imagine...all the fields are made read only but I 'only' want the fields on page one to be read only. I've searched the web but cannot find what I am looking for. Any help would be most appreciated. Otherwise I am going to have to make each field read-only one by one in javascript code. That's a pain!  :-)

Open PDF file. This is supposedly a PDF file that has 3d content in it, but does not seem to want to work; won't show anything.

I think the person who sent this file didn't create the file right, but wondered if anyone else has any luck opening this file.

Hi there!

I'm currently working with an HP LaserJet Enterprise M506 printer with a client and we've been having repeated issues with black streaking occurring across the page each time we attempt to print out a document. I've attached a scanned PDF document of a printed page from this printer for context.

We've already attempted to replace the ink cartridge as well as the drum, however the issue is repeating past both of these changes. For the ink cartridges, the client is using a Premium Imaging Cartridge CE255X.

Does anybody happen to have any ideas as to why we're not able to get these streaks to go away? Is it just a matter of using a genuine HP ink cartridge instead or does something else need to be done here?

Thank you for your time!

Can we read a PDF file using Excel VBA, or any other technology, and compare with another Excel file? Finally, produce another file result about matching, mismatching records.

i got some free online ocr converters but they have limited pages that are being converted
Dear Experts,

I have an Adobe PDF document with three pages. What I would like to do is to keep the only the first page fillable until the final signature block is completed on the first PDF page in the document. Then once the first page has all the required signatures the last two pages with 'then' become fillable.  I am wondering  if I can set up some type of javascript code to make the last two pages of this three page document read only UNTIL the first page receives the appropriate signatures. I was really hoping that I could "hide" the last two pages until the first page receives the two required signatures but I don't think it's possible to 'hide' to making them simply "unfillable" for now is fine.

Thanks in advance for suggestions.
