I have an Access App that fills in a local table and uses the data to email Order Acknowledgements to customers in PDF format.

1. Sometimes the Output is half size and unreadable. (As if page size set to Letter)
2. Sometimes the Price and Values are just ####

I have a few other report running on the same server and they seem OK. (Access version is 360)

I am working on an asp.net c# web application that creates a report and saves the report as a pdf. The report could reach up to 140 pages and is already over 22 MB at page 35. Is there any way to reduce the size of these files as they will then be retrieved and emailed. The application is asp.net webforms using ms reportviewer.

this is the code I used to save the report. I created a LocalReport in the code behind instead of using the reportviewer control beause we don't need to display the report.

            private void SavePdf()
            {
                  var path = GetReportPath();

                  var bytes = _localReport.Render(
                        "PDF", null, out string mimeType, out var encoding, out var filenameExtension,
                        out var streamIds, out var warnings);

                  using (var fs = new FileStream(path, FileMode.Create))
                  {
                        fs.Write(bytes, 0, bytes.Length);
                  }
            }

this is the code to create the report before saving it as a pdf.

            private void RenderReportForSaving()
            {
                  var reportDataSource = new ReportDataSource("DataSet1", base.GetDiscipleshipReportView());

                  try
                  {
                        var path = Server.MapPath($"~/Administration/Reporting/Reports/{_reportType}.rdlc");
                        var report = new LocalReport();

                        _localReport.EnableExternalImages = true;
                        _localReport.ReportPath = path;
                        _localReport.DataSources.Clear();
                        _localReport.DataSources.Add(reportDataSource);

                        AddSubQueriesToLocalReport();

                        _localReport.Refresh();
                  }
                  catch (Exception ex)
                  {

error when using dom pdf to generate pdf files from php records:
Error:
Unable to stream pdf: headers already sent

I have tried all the typical suggested solutions for this but I still get the error
I haven't posted any code yet because I am unsure of exactly what to post
I initially post this error in case anyone has a suggestion of whet the error is actually telling me / doing in terms of code
I am pretty sure it used to work on my server but I have not visited my code for some time so I just cannot remember if anything has changed

Hi

I used Nuget packages for the first time while trialing PDF converters in ASP.net.
I didn't find any that worked in the way I needed them to. I uninstalled them but am getting strange errors in my project.
I noticed that there where still folcders in the AppData folder. I removed all of these.
How do I completely remove all files relating to these Nuget packages?

Thanks

Hi

I just added IronPDF software to my ASP.net web app using NuGet https://www.nuget.org/packages/IronPdf/

I did this so that I could convert a web form to a pdf doc. It works when I run in debug mode but causes errors
after I have published.

What am I missing in the publish. Should I have published certain folders in addition to to the usual publish?

Thanks

A PDF icon loses its program association, I resolved the problem by creating a new PDF file then configuring it to open with Adobe Acrobat.
What can cause Windows 10 to disassociate excel and PDF files with programs designed to open them?

I'm using a third party to create pdfs. I build the template on their site. I do a GET with my data and poof, a nice pdf. In PostMan this works great, the message I get in Post man is: This response could not be previewed. Download the response to open it with an appropriate application. When I click "Download" a file save dialog opens and it's already got the file name populated as xxxxx.pdf. Save the file and open it. It works great.

Now I'm trying to do the same from a WPF C# app. I'm using the RESTSharp library to make the call. My latest attempt, after setting the headers and params just like Postman, is:
client.DownloadData(request).SaveAs("c:\\ajson\\some.pdf");

Open in new window

I get a blank pdf.

I've also tried

 await Task.Run(() => ReceiveMyString(this));

Open in new window

and parsing the response in the ReceiveMyString method. I'm getting the data but I just can't figure out how to save it as a pdf. All attempts end with a corrupt pdf. Here's one example:
 byte[] buffer = Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes(response.Content);
            MemoryStream ms = new MemoryStream(buffer);
            FileStream file = new FileStream("C:\\ajson\\myPDF.pdf", FileMode.Create, FileAccess.Write);
            ms.WriteTo(file);
            file.Close();
            ms.Close();

Open in new window

Thank you!

Hello and Good Afternoon Everyone,

            I have a question regarding a printout I got from the following link https://www.mtsu.edu/hrs/benefits/components/2015NewBeginningEEPresentation.pdf.  Basically, the background or backdrop of each page printed is black.  While I can clearly read the text in the foreground, I am wondering if there is a way of having a clean or white background with black text in the foreground.

            Any feedback given in response to this question will be greatly appreciated.

            Thank you

            George

I am looking for ultra inexpensive printing services that can print standard 8-1/2 x 11 double-sided pages.  The local places seem to want 50 cents per side which feels exorbitant to me since I need to print 50 double-sided pages if they are printed on 8-1/2 x 11 standard sized paper.

I tried Vistaprint and one other service but "I think" it came down to the fact that I wasn't duplicating the same content, but was instead wanting to print from a PDF file that already had multiple pages with different content on each page.

Assistance in finding a reasonably priced service for this is greatly appreciated.

Adobe PDF Fill In Form REQUIRES The Free Adobe Reader To Be Installed / Open to Have the Fill In Fields work properly and Submit Button work properly...

I will have a pre web page that has writing that INFORMS the user to ONLY USE Adobe Reader (with download link also) when using the Fill In Form and ALSO I can put writing ON the actual Fill in PDF that will tell them to ONLY use Adobe Reader and ALSO have JS script on the web page that OPENS the Fill In Form pops up saying ONLY use Adobe Reader

Can I HAVE a Adobe PDF Reader Download Link on the Fill In PDF to allow user to download the Reader from the Fill In form directly ?

Can i HAVE JScript in on open EVENT of the Fill In Form that will check if the user is USING Adobe Reader and notify them if NOT to download & use it only ?

Can any EE think of a way to semi / quasi FORCE the user beyond this that would be helpful ?

thanks... CJ

Environment:  Windows 2012R2, and W2016; auto updates.  Business Application hasn't been updated in 4months. - happening on more than one site.
Tsplus is the RDP server application.

Problem:  Time of problem varies from site to site 3wks to 1 yr,  Application generates .pdf documents; e.g. invoices, quotes, statements either singularly or in a batch process, current fault happens in all pdf generated process'.
A Process, e.g. Invoices runs; create a 0kb .pdf, no errors displayed, then emails the .pdf to the customer; usually only found when the email receipient of the .pdf says can't open it.
Tried removing all .tmp files,    appdata\local\temp & appdata\roaming\"any rdp session files not deleted".
Stop Print Spooler / Remove any files in windows\system32\spool\printer\*.* / Start print spooler.
Sometimes allows the correct generation pf the .pdf file; occassionally works - mostly not.
If user logs out of the Application and RDP Session, (back to the PC desktop) login to Server via RDP then application and perform the print - works everytime.

My summation but can't grasp the answer, is: Logging out of the Session obviously terminates a process that is affecting the "Printing"

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to identify the process &  recitification.

Thank you for reading this.
