Hi,

I have a few electronic devices in a room which do not need to be on when there is nobody in the room.

The times are variable for when people would be in the room.

These devices are plugged into an extension lead which I would like plugged into a sensor socket.

Ideally what I would like is for when someone walks in the room, the sensor socket would switch on and the devices would in turn switch on too.

The opposite would happen when someone leaves the room for a few minutes.

I would like one that does not require a hub or Wi-Fi as I would have a switch connected to this sensor socket.

Also, it would be an advantage if the sensor socket did not turn off if people were sitting down watching TV but not making much movement.

What would you recommend?

Thanks,
Robbie

My receiver will only play output on one mode. If I first ask the Echo Dot to play high quality music from an internet source it plays through the receiver. Then when I change mode on the receiver over to TV and ask the Echo Dot a question, e.g what time it is, it won`t answer over the receiver.

I am thinking of connecting my Echo Dot to PC speakers and the receiver using an audio mixer that has multiple outputs. Will it play over the Hi-Fi system or just play over PC speakers?

The problem with my receiver is that it needs to be on a certain mode for the Echo dot to respond. I want the Echo dot to respond no matter what mode the receiver is on.

Thanks for all your help,
Robbie

I am currently setting up my home cinema room, where I want to control everything using my Echo Dot. I have set up Sky Q, Amazon Fire TV stick, Blu-ray player, etc.. to my  receiver, where each device has its own channel. All of that works perfectly.

As I`ve mentioned, I want my Echo Dot to control everything. Because of this I want the Output from the Echo Dot to come through the receiver, no matter what channel the receiver is on,  i. e. if I am using Sky Q I still want to be able to talk to and hear the Echo dots.

Does anyone have a solution I could apply?

Regards,
Cillian

Hi,

I am a business person who works from home.

I am looking for a TV to use for TV/ Home Cinema and PC usage.

80% of the time this TV is used by my family for TV/ Home Cinema usage.

20% of the time this TV is used for PC usage.

I have been considering the FW-75XE9001 75" BRAVIA 4K HDR Professional Display.

I suppose any new TV would do for PC usage such as Ms Office, Internet, Video Conferencing etc., so what I am particularly interested in is getting the highest quality picture possible for the "Home Cinema" experience.

Thank you for your thoughts.

I have a Sky box and it is currently connected via a HDMI cable to my Denon AV receiver.

If the Denon AV receiver is left on 7 days a week it can be;
- Generating a lot of heat
- A fire hazard
- Using up a lot of electricity when not used

The Denon AV receiver is generally not used too much so would preferred to have it turned off until needed.

If the Denon AV receiver is not used, I would like the Sky box to use sound from the TV it would be connected too via a HDMI cable.

Is there a way to splitting a HDMI cable coming from Sky box to TV and Denon AV receiver so that when the Denon AV receiver is turned off, the Sky channels will still have sound?

Thanks,
Robbie

My son has set up a Raspberry Pi in the home to display images. He enabled FTP and told me to connect via WinSCP. I have done this, and I see all the folders on the Raspberry Pi. However, I cannot upload images or do anymodifications on the raspberry pi due to a permissions problem.

Any ideas what could be the cause of this?

I am logging in with his username and password, which has full rights to the Pi.

Thank you.

My daughter's kindle has an sd card. It says that pictures, videos and books will store on the sd card but they're taking up a lot of space in her internal memory. I have it set to store everything on the sd card that the kindle will allow and yet, I'm constantly having storage issues.

I was wondering if someone here knows if it's possible to play the contents of a directory on a USB on a Sony Bravia TV. So far I've only been able to play one video file at a time.

I've searched around and the best I could find was someone recommending an external video player but I was wondering if the functionality was available in the TV itself.

If it is possible, my next question would be if you can also play all files in a loop.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I am working on the project, in which, four MSP430 boards are connected with
PC through USB HUB. In software, CDC USB communication will be used for
all MSP430.

I want to know is, how can I write host software in Visual Basic 6.0 for CDC
USB communication with this controller?

I am aware of serial communication, but new at USB communication in VB6.0.
Though I can detect device through sysinfo control in VB6, but I am not able
to send-receive data from/to PC-microcontroller.
Can you guide me how to do it?
Is there any example available for CDC class using VB 6?

Second thing, in VB6, when I am searching com ports through mscomm, I can find the port of PC which had name "USB Serial Port". i.e. it is not able to find the port which had name in device manager " VIrtual COM Port". Is there any solution for it?
Thanks in advance

I am curious if anyone has experience with this model. Is there any reason that the device would work with a CICSO CP8945 telephone but not work with the Shoretel 560?  We have several that do function properly so I configured all of the switches and dials on this one exactly the same.

I reset the device and then paired again.  It does take the phone off hook and back on hook using the button but there is no audio and the microphone does not appear to work.   I also connected my working headset to an analog phone and heard dial tone, but the same connection did not work with the Cisco headset.

I was wondering if there might be a version unique to the Cisco phones.
