I can use Photoshop CC to create a frame, but now I need to insert an image into it. How do I do this from an existing image file? Is there a way to make the frame adjust to the aspect ration of the image file?

I have a wide angle view of a map and need to put a circle (or square) round a small piece of it and over the enlarged detail on the unimportant part of the map.

Has anyone experienced problem syncing contacts on IOS or iPhone contacts of user, after migrating to office 365. As per MS suggestions, I made office 365 as default contacts after enabling office 365 on default IOS mail apps and I still don't see the address added to my boss Office 365 by his PA populated on IOS contacts it is not synching contacts to IOS, although updated contacts shows on Outlook 2016 for MAC and OWA

This should be very easy; but I am tired and my eyes are crossed from staring at code all day.

I have several hundred text files with line items similar to the following:

<some 4 digit number>-w
training-kiosk-wifi

I want to use sed to delete the "-w" were any occurrence of a number with "-w" at the end shows up.  But I do NOT want to remove every occurrence of "-w" because it would break the second string line, which I do not want to do.  The numbers are all 4 digits and range from 5000 through 9999

So, one file could look like this:

5000-w
training-kiosk-wifi

And another file could look like this:

9999-w
training-kiosk-wifi

I want to use sed to change those files to read like this:

5000
training-kiosk-wifi

9999
training-kiosk-wifi

Can someone help me with the correct regex parameter to use with sed to do this?

I run a small business (very small..just myself and my wife) and am take a lead with 2 small charities.
I am looking for a system to help with the following when working from my office (desktop Win) and offsite (via web and iphone/ipad):
  • Email management
  • Task/project management
  • Calendars
  • Contacts
  • Information
  • Documents
I currently have a system that is lacking in several areas, and limits my productivity.
I am open to changing it, and would appreciate advice on what would be a good system that I should aim for.... ie apps for each device and system to integrate/synchronise between devices/apps
(NB I have attached a document I prepared to outline what I currently use for my system, and what the desired functionality is)

Hi - I am an independent IT consultant supporting many home users and small businesses. I am currently trying to organise the way i work, specifically with projects that come in and how to clock the time i spend on them.
Up until now i have been using a combination of Outlook tasks + and Excel spreadsheet to input time and matters + and app called Toggl which records time. I can never stick with one method however and often find myself falling back on my trusty analogue notepad as well to take notes and refer to them. I would love to find a cloud based app which would manage my tasks and time i clock in and out of them.
Does anyone have some recommendations that have worked for them?

I am a developer and love Git. But I am writing a book and rely on Word. But Word files and Git are oil and water, since it can easily mangle the file and render it useless. Right?

How about using an RTF? Is that a format which works with source control?

I am sure a Notepad style of crude editor wold work, but I need some basic styling like font, bold, italics, etc.

What tool can I use on a Mac to write this book? I really want to be able to commit and push revisions and make my incremental changes viewable by me later.

I started having difficulty with PP14.5+Patch 1 after running CheckPPFolders.exe.  The difficulty came about when scanning documents, the scanning dialog would not pop up to scan the other side (which I've done hundreds of times previously), and that led to running the CheckPPFolders.exe.  Not sure it was the right move at this point.  Now, any time that I want to scan a document, I first select the folder for the scan to go to, which starts the process of UPDATING file 1 of XXX ... something that has never happened until about a week ago.

I have came across many cases that a old driver is the cause of issues in a workstation. there are vendors who offer to do a scan and update all outdated drivers. but some of them anti virus and malware detected them as dangerous. but finding the right drive may sometimes be time consuming. the wrong drive can prevent the computers from starting in some cases.

Question: Do you know of a trusted reliable program preferred if a technician edition is available so I can use it on more then one workstation? or any other quick solution?

Hello experts- just wanted to get opinions on the best course of action for scanning dozens of (physical) photos for a digital slideshow. My options are taking a photo of the photo with an iPhone 7 camera or using a multi function copier like a Toshiba 5000 series flat bed scanner (600x600 dpi). Which will produce the best resolution for a digital slide show?

Hi,

I am looking for Project / Task Management software that allows one "simple" function:

Create a project, and sub parts of that project... but only share certain parts of the project with various people.

For example, we usually have 10-20 projects on at any one time with various stakeholders:

- Project Manager (needs to be able to access all sections of the project)
- Developer (should only be able to access the Dev tasks of the project)
- Client (should only be able to access the Scope part of the project)

I have tried and tested many different applications and i am shocked that i can't find just one that provides this feature. I have contacted support for each of the following and every time the customer service team suggested creating a different project for each stakeholder which is not practical or efficient.

- basecamp: no

Any suggestions would be greatly welcomed.

We have a decent size business and the "Operations" people are dead set on keeping thier "SOP" folder.  Just a file share with documents....  it's a complete mess, A mix of documentation/instructions, templates/forms, etc, etc and tons of junk files and mess gets put there, and by thier own admission thier employees dont use it right.

Im trying to point out how a wiki Or combination of wiki and cloud storage like Drive or box) is not just a different location... it's different tools.... there are better capabilities.  It's more easily searchable, you can hotlink, you can have revisions autosaved, etc.

One person in particular seems completely ignorant of the idea that better tools can make doing things less cumbersome and make people more likely to do it/use them....

Anyway - curious if there are any studies or any open business cases out there for how cloud productivity tools can help businesses.

We have a page full of images and want to export them individually to a folder.  What is the best way to do this?

Hello,

In Word 2013, we needed to have numbered outline lists be different than the default 1)> a)> i> etc.  So we created the all decimal system of 1> 1.1> 1.1.1, etc that works really well.  The problem is that after making an outline and then changing some text formatting such as adding font colors or bold formatting, if I indent or outdent the item, it looses the formatting.  I have attached the sample document.

To replicate the issue:
1) On line "1.1", put cursor at the beginning of the text, and press TAB to indent.  The numbering changes to 1.1.1, but all the formatting is gone (paragraph color, bold/green text), except the highlighted yellow text stays?  Press Shift-TAB and the numbering changes to 1.1, but the formatting is still gone.  How can we retain all the formatting?  I only want the outline (Styles?) process to add the numbering system, and leave the text as it was?

2) Odd: on the very last item "1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1" and "1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.2".  You cannot press TAB to indent since Word will not indent any further.  On "1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1", if you Shift-TAB, it will outdent one level, and loose formatting.  BUT on "1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.2", if you outdent, it keeps all the formatting except for the paragraph color.  And continuing to outdent and indent keeps the formatting.  These are using the same 'Style' settings right?

Do I really need to import this data?

The basic process of importing members seems to restrict me to uploading "one page at a time" and the maximum per page is 200.

Surely, I can generate the campaign for 4,500 contacts without having to do an import??
