Quality assurance (QA) is a way of preventing mistakes or defects in products and systems, and avoiding problems when delivering solutions or services to customers. QA is applied to software to verify that features and functionality meet business objectives, and that code is relatively bug free prior to shipping or releasing new software products and versions. Quality assurance comprises administrative and procedural activities implemented in a quality system so that requirements and goals for a product, service or activity will be fulfilled. Two principles included in quality assurance are: "Fit for purpose" (the product should be suitable for the intended purpose); and "right first time" (mistakes should be eliminated).

Dears,

I am about to embark in the management of my company using JIRA tools.
I have been using trello, Smartsheets,Axosoft , Todoist.Assembla and toodledo.
So I do have some experience with Agile/Kanban.
I have set up JIRA yet I am faced with some "organizational dilemma".
My setup is as follows :
we are 4Developers.
2 fully dedicated to developing
1-Developing + managing the company (tasks/prioirities)
1 Developing + help desk

We are now managing around 30 Customers and we also have our own project (a New software to be launched in 2019)
I got JIRA software + confluence +Service Desk +Tempo Planner.
My question is how to configure JIRA.
1-Do I create a project per customer ? and if yes how to aggregate them later on ?
2-How to link the Service Desk to my project (s) - If I allow 1 customer to post on JIRA Desk shouldn't that ticket be also showing in the project

As you see my problems are related to "business" configuration. And I am expecting to need some help with this.
Where can I get that help ? Coz reading the JIRA help won't be enough. It helps me understand how the tool work , but not what is the best way to configure it !
Thanks

Hello,
I have submitted Selenium and Eclipse questions and they were never answered.
There are many topics that are "Proposed."
My assumption is that EE does not have Experts for these topics.  Is my assumption correct?

Percona XtraDB Cluster, Galera Cluster, MySQL Group Replication Join Percona’s MySQL Practice Manager Kenny Gryp and QA Engineer, Ramesh Sivaraman as they present Percona XtraDB Cluster, Galera Cluster, MySQL Group Replication on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 10:00 am PDT / 1:00 pm EDT (UTC-7).  Register here: http://hubs.ly/H07QMYT0

What are the implementation differences between Percona XtraDB Cluster 5.7, Galera Cluster 5.7 and MySQL Group Replication?

How do each of these work?
    How do they behave differently?
Do these methods have any major issues?

This webinar will describe the differences and shed some light on how QA is done for each of the different technologies. Register here: http://hubs.ly/H07QMYT0

Hello, we have several Access databases which run on VBA code. Due to the complexity of the forms, it is time consuming for us to run same quality checks on existing work with every new release, in order to see if any of the changes we made to the DB affected the existing forms functionality.

Therefore, what we need is an Automated QA Checks Software. We heard about a few, and we're trying them out on our DBs. At the moment, we are trying out Ranorex and TestComplete. However, it would be useful if anybody could send us some recommendations for any software of this kind, and it would be also very useful if you could let us know why is it your recommendation.

For now, we only need automated QA checks of the MS Access front-end GUI, running on VBA code.

If you have any experience with this kind of software, please let me know.

Thank you!

I would like a crash course in Selenium as a C# developer and prefer to reach versus watching video.

Any good visual tutorials I can read?

It'd be great if there were C# programming exercises as well.

Thanks

Hello Experts,

Currently the Atlassian applications along with the Postgres databases reside on 1 VM.

I am looking for any recommendations for splitting up the applications/databases and platform options to integrate the Atlassian applications on (VM, Docker or AWS).

We have 100 users split between the US and UK.

I am new to using Selenium for web UI testing, but see it as a great tool for that. Can it also be used for load testing?

If so, how does that work? How do you handle concurrency?

Thanks.

Hi - I am having difficulty making a link to a specific section of a confluence page. I tried setting anchor using the advanced hyperlink feature but it just loads the page from the top. Please advise thanks!

loading...Arghh!! I really hate it when I write up a bug ticket in JIRA capture and then when I go to submit the bug, I get stuck at a loading wheel and the ticket never generates... Now it looks like I have to re-write the bug... And it wasn't an easy one to describe anyway... Lame.

Huh... In ranting about this, I think I may have figured out what caused it and how to avoid it... Seems like I closed the original tab that I was getting a screenshot of and JIRA capture doesn't like it when that happens. Didn't seem like that should affect anything (since JIRA capture opens up a new tab for doing annotations of the screen and adding the bug details). But when I ran some quick experiments, I discovered that closing the original tab will definitely trigger the infinite loading wheel when trying to submit the bug in the other tab. When I kept the tab open, could file the ticket as expected... Should probably run a few more validation tests, but it sure will be nice if I can eliminate one cause of this!

Wanted to know how to setup pass-through authentication for our internal use websites and applications.

Examples: Microsoft Teams / Jira / Confluence / Outlook (Office365)

For internal application websites, is it as easy as setting up a GPO?

What kinds of things do I need to know in order to get started with automated tests with Selenium? I have experience with unit testing, but no front-end testing yet.

I am interested in smoke testing, best practices, what kinds of guidelines to use when making a test plan with Selenium.

I am interested in hearing how other people use it...

Thanks.

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

Our IT people have to travel to developing countries and still participate in conference calls with U.S. institutions while traveling abroad while setting up our offices. This would be before our dedicated internet and private lines are installed. The U.S. customers on the conference calls are not accustomed to such poor quality connections from land lines and cellular services: They can sound extremely muffled, distorted, can be unhearable or can't hear themselves for 30 seconds, etc. And we are not interested in making excuses to the American clients by pointing out on a big conference call that we are traveling to India and the Philippines because doing so then highlights our "abroad-ness" that we don't want to emphasize. Even high quality hotels have poor internet connections and fixed telephone in these countries. If they had good internet, I would just recommend they bring along a VoIP box and land line telephone. So here is the question:

What can the IT folks to do sound good on telephone calls when they are traveling to this undeveloped regions? Satellite phone? Take a VoIP box to a dedicated internet location that they can pay to use, but where?

How do I configure a project so that when a ticket is created it automatically adds certain watchers.

hi,

I want to automate the processing of standard emails i received, and have data entered into a google spreadsheet automatically. Is there a simple way to do this?
Happy to use a google script if needed (would rather not use a 3rd party tool if google have a solution built in)

Thanks

There is a bug I want to capture, but a screenshot is nearly impossible to do because the bug I see happens so fast and goes away.  How can I capture this?

Prefer to use Chrome extension if this exists.
I use featherlight for screenshots.

I'm starting a clean re-write of a python app that wasn't OO.  It worked but was pretty clumbsy and poorly documented.

The overall project is for a critical system which will require clearly documented design, verifiication, and validation testing.

As far as the design goes, I'd like to clearly document the parts of the app like modules, classes, methods, properties, expected results etc.

I suppose I could make an exhaustive text document but I'm hoping there is some best practice tool that pros use for documenting this kind of project.

If it makes a difference I'm using PyCharm Pro 2016.1 but I'm open to using other 3rd party tools

Any ideas?

We have a Salesforce instance (cloud) and a JIRA (inhouse) server. I want to push data from Salesforce to JIRA using REST. The problem is our firewall. We want to leverage an existing URL that we already use to PUSH Salesforce data to an inhouse app using SOAP. Let's pretend this url is https://salesforcein.myco.com.  The standard REST url for JIRA is jira.myco.net/rest/api

How can I hit https://salesforcein.myco.com from outside and somehow bridge it over to jira.myco.net/rest/api  ? I'm not a network guy but I plan on forwarding the solution to our network guys.

Thanks
Mike
