Quality assurance (QA) is a way of preventing mistakes or defects in products and systems, and avoiding problems when delivering solutions or services to customers. QA is applied to software to verify that features and functionality meet business objectives, and that code is relatively bug free prior to shipping or releasing new software products and versions. Quality assurance comprises administrative and procedural activities implemented in a quality system so that requirements and goals for a product, service or activity will be fulfilled. Two principles included in quality assurance are: "Fit for purpose" (the product should be suitable for the intended purpose); and "right first time" (mistakes should be eliminated).

I have a manual task, where I copy and paste information from a weekly report that I receive in an Excel file.

This information needs to placed in a master file that is continuously updated each week and another file that needs to be repopulated on a biweekly basis.

How can I go about automating this task?

Thanks!

Is there an app, program or website where I can have students practice online shopping, and test credit cards to simulate the experience?  I would like to teach younger students how to shop online and show them how to avoid scams.

We have an IIS 7.0 HTTPS site which I'm trying to setup for this purpose

receive file upload requirements:

1. Client will upload XML files over HTTPS via script on their end using a provided user id/password (no web GUI interface)
2. Our system needs to detect that a file is being uploaded, read the XML data file to find a return HTTPS address within that file and then send an http 200 (ok) response code to that return address to indicate a successful receipt of that file.

Hi,

I need to do data quality checks soon writing sql. I have the understanding of doing the following test types

1)validity -if the field is populated or not, if it has valid values or not

2)completeness-null or blank occurrences

First steps I am thinking of is doing data profiling on specific fields that I will be performing data quality test that I know if it allows null values or not..Any specific questions I should ask the team that is been doing testing(They haven't given me walkthrough and they wont too but I just want to ask intelligent questions regarding data quality testing)

Anything else that I should do to make sure the data quality test  is done properly.

Thanks in advance.

Heyas,

Been reading up on Desktop automation tools for an upcoming project. Found 3 so far that look quite promising.

Other than these are there others that I should take a look at?

The application is a .NET application that was developed in Windows 7.

Thank you.

We have a number of different mobile applications within our organisation; some developed in house others are purchased by vendors.

All these applications need to be tested for defects. At the moment, we have a fairly laborious process of holding test items in a spreadsheet and having someone manually go through them. As you can imagine, it's very time consuming.

We'd like to look into automated software testing. I've heard of a couple; SeeTest being one of them: https://experitest.com/

My question is this:

For tools like these, do they need custom code embedded into the software or can they be used out of the box? For our custom developed solutions embedding code can be quite straightforward, but for vendor apps not sure how we can do this?

Does anyone have any experience with automated testing for 3rd party solutions?

I know how to get the API link manually from browser plugins such as developer tools or firebug. I have a requirement to get all the APIs for testing. I have to write a script in any language(python, java, perl...) to test all the API links rather than hitting from website UI, but before that I should get all the API links to proceed further.

Does anyone know or have a script to get all the API links of a website?

I am in need of guidance for creating for my group a Test Plan for a vb.net application.

I have be given this task to be completed by weeks end.

I require a sample of a small Test Plan for a vb.net application in a QA environment.

My Development Group consist of 4 people: myself, I  am a level one programmer,
                                                                               Team Lead is level three programmer,
                                                                                a level two programmer and
                                                                                a level two Supervisor.

Only I know about the HP ALM Quality Center(QC) and it's full function of creating Test Cases and it's defect tracking.
I have been told the QC is too difficult for the other team members to learn given the short deliver date.

We are using the Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2010 for application lifecycle, and Visual Studio 2010 for
version control.

There is an urgency for my request.  My last performance evaluation, I was rated "not meeting expectations" due to
my missing a due date on one of my assignments.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi Experts, I need somebody with experience implementing this architecture (picture attached).
Desired architectureI'm currently developing using docker with no problems (linking apache, redis, mysql and node). I'm trying to take a step up, implementing QA and CI. I've recently installed bitnami jenkins over virtualbox, the php-template, and downloaded all recomended plugins. I've also installed docker on that virtualbox machine (ubuntu 14.04).
Now, i must figure out the best approach
1- Jenkins running docker exec with -c "phing / ant....composer " "gulp/grunt bower" inside containers to run test on node (for angular) and apache (for php)
2- Jenkins talking with dockerized jenkins (slave)
3- Another recomended way?

I'm interesed on hearing some experienced developer who can point me on the right direction to gain QA on my projectss.

Please excuse my english.

Regards.

I need to create about 500 users for our web application. I will also need their person id that system assigns them when I create them which is a number that appears in the URL after creating it.  What tool/script do I need to use to do this?  I was thinking about Selenium webdriver but not sure if the HTMLunitdriver will capture that number from the URL.

Please suggest.

Thank you

Heyas,

I been given the task for testing an application in Windows 10 that was developed using the .NET framework (C-Sharp, ASP.NET, SQL) currently running on the Windows 7 desktop environment dependencies are various Windows Services and .NET Framework SQL Server 2008.  I have familiar with using 'dependency walker' and Microsoft's ACT, I intend to perform a full regression tests and validate all the data written to the database to make sure their are no changes there. Anything I should be aware when testing this software. I primarily fishing for ideas of what to keep an eye out for as I am not a professional tester.

Thank you.

I have been using Selenium to write simple automation tests at my work place. The process involves importing a Maven project with TestNG framework within Eclipse and writing the tests. However, I would like to learn how I can build such a framework from scratch. Any pointers in this direction is highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I have recorded a script against the application that I want to test. Now, I am having a hard time arriving at the decision that what is that number that the application will run without any issue and to find out the max number of users. Here is what I have done-

1.    I have run the Jmeter script for 10, 50, 100, 150 users
    2. Until 50 users, it runs like a charm. After about 80 users the throughput starts to come down and some samples do not show up in Aggregate Report.
  3.  I see heap memory problems in my console for about 150 users over period of time. Is it the application problem or my machine problem?

Do you have an article where I could read about how to come to a conclusion about THE number?

Thank you

I have a few users for whom I am logging in to the application and I can see that they are logged in successfully.  However, when I go to the 3rd page in flow, after sign in, when I click on one of the recorded steps in View Results Tree, I get a message that ' Script is disabled.  Click submit to continue.' When I do that It shows a link to Sign In.  How do I make sure that I am indeed landed onto that page with valid login.

I also get this message "Since your browser does not support Javascript, you must press the Continue button once to proceed."  After clicking on continue it throws me back to the home page.

Thank you

Hi experts,

I have set the browser language in java code like below for my selenium project as I am doing multilingual testing:

System.setProperty(“webdriver.chrome.driver”,”D:/DollarArchive/chromedriver.exe”);
ChromeOptions options = new ChromeOptions();
options.addArguments(“–lang= sl”);
ChromeDriver driver = new ChromeDriver(options);
driver.get(“http://google.co.in”;);

Is there a way to detect the broswer language as I set above in the code ?

Appreciate if someone can help me?

I need to Create a Selenium Webdriver script written in any language in C#
·         The script should be able to run against Firefox and Chrome browsers

·         The script should do the following:

1.      Register a new user

2.      Verify the user is Signed-in.

3.      Run a search to find users and add at least one user as a favorite.

4.      Sign out the user and verify that the user is signed out.

5.      Sign in again and verify that the user can see his/her favorited user (from step 3).

I am a junior business analyst.  I am getting ready to perform User Acceptance testing on a newly designed application.  The data in the application has been migrated from a variety of data sources.  I am familiar with some of the data from one of the data sources.  I am not familiar with the data coming from the other sources.  During user acceptance testing what are some of the general things that I should look for to validate the data I am familiar with?  Is there a data validation template that I can modify? Or general questions I should consider when performing the testing.  Thanks.

Env: jenkins on CentOS
java: 1.8
Selenium version: 2.48.2
Web Application Technology: Spring Boot
Test Framework: TestNG

Scenario that involve clicking of a 'Submit' button(E.g. Submitting sign up form, submitting reset password form), test cases sometimes pass & other times fail in random fashion,
There are inconsistent results.
I have tried providing 'wait' & used 'enter' key of keyboard instead of a click.
But still no success.

Hi

We have a system where we have 10,000+ entries for various clients. Unfortunately, there is a degree of duplication (e.g. clients entered with different names but same address and so on due to name changes).

Is anyone aware of any enterprise data quality tools that can help?
