Quality assurance (QA) is a way of preventing mistakes or defects in products and systems, and avoiding problems when delivering solutions or services to customers. QA is applied to software to verify that features and functionality meet business objectives, and that code is relatively bug free prior to shipping or releasing new software products and versions. Quality assurance comprises administrative and procedural activities implemented in a quality system so that requirements and goals for a product, service or activity will be fulfilled. Two principles included in quality assurance are: "Fit for purpose" (the product should be suitable for the intended purpose); and "right first time" (mistakes should be eliminated).

We would like to keep tracking of many things, to produce reports based on date interval, etc.  Kind of things we would like to track are not necessarely "computer/network related":

  • Grant/Revoke access rights (computer, building access, etc)
  • Keep a list of downtime
  • Keep a tracking of non-conformity
etc...

Does anyone have a suggestion?  Preferably an Online solution.  We have seen many ISO27001 solutions, but they are all expensive.

(PS: We are actually using JIRA for task related actions, but it's not really good for reporting and it's more a solution to keep tracking of progress on a project related task)

Thanks you

HTML5 and CSS3 Fundamentals

Build a website from the ground up by first learning the fundamentals of HTML5 and CSS3, the two popular programming languages used to present content online. HTML deals with fonts, colors, graphics, and hyperlinks, while CSS describes how HTML elements are to be displayed.

Hi,
I want some info regarding how a change or fix or feature in a software is tested.
Suppose the developer has done the coding. After that a QA is assigned to test the code.
how much a developer has to be involved in QA.
Once the feature has been delivered to QA for testing.
Is the QA job to test it from all scenarios and finally mark as passed ?
And the developer deploys it to production.

what are the exact and actual steps that should be done.
developent complete ----> movement to staging environment/preprod ---> QA testing--> QA certified ---> move to production

My question is how much a developer should be involved in QA testing. Or he shouldnt be at all

Thanks

I have recently setup an atlassian organisation and added my domain name. This has pulled in a number of user accounts that registered with atlassian using my domain name as they were invited to my customers Jira. The accounts are referred to as “managed accounts”. by Atlassian. All good except I have to pay for this privilege. Is there a better way if managing the accounts as my atlassian organisation is fully connected to my azure AD instance. Thanks.

I am attempting to create an automation in Jira (Atlassian) service desk software.
Having created a front end form, with relevant fields and check box lists.
Which is working mostly as it should.
The automation creates and allocates the information correctly....
with the exception.....my automation picks up all of the fields (check-boxes) selected and creates sub-tasks for all the check-box fields, however it does not differentiate between the ones that have been selected, and ignoring the ones that have not.

Therefore still presents all of the sub-tasks on the form (as tasks) - including as I say the ones that have not been selected.

As a total newbie to this I am sure it is in the if / then / else part of the automation....but am scratching my head wondering what I am not seeing.

Could be that I have to create some additional JQL statements to fulfil?
Not sure.
Still investigating

Any assistance or pointers gratefully received.

I have an interesting request to build or advise on an expert system, now known more commonly as a KBS or Knowledge Based System.

The reason is that this team are encountering many examples of same or similar problems, where they spend a lot of time re-inventing similar solutions. Ideally, they need a database that can intelligently and [semi]automatically connect the dots between hundreds of similar problems and solutions; in other words, an inference engine connected to a database.

Criteria
1. Search results need a trust raking for the likelihood of a correct solution.
2. New information (problems and solutions) must be easy for a technician to enter, and in a structured format.
3. Database must be both machine and human readable.
4. Must be OS agnostic (web based).

So far, I have found a lot of technical and conceptual papers on this subject, but I haven't found a ready to use application. :(
FYI, here is an interesting document from AAAI: https://www.aaai.org/Papers/IAAI/2005/IAAI05-014.pdf

Questions?
1. Can this be accomplished, as an add-on, with the tools we already own?
2. What KBS systems are available that are either open-source, free, or relatively inexpensive?

We currently use Confluence, Confluence Questions, Jira, Bitbucket, Freshworks Freshservice, and Slack. I have reviewed many of the plugins available and none seem to offer KBS-like functionality. :(

Google Search?
Search results seem to be help desk …

Anyone have experience of Jira Software vs Workfront for project management?
What can Jira do that Workfront can't?
Why one or the other?
If using both, how is the integration between the two (I see there is an integration toolkit to connect the two).

Hi!

I can not make SSO with crowd working. I have set up SSO, as desribed in the articles for Jira and Confluence, but can not make it work.

If I log in to Jira with a Crowd User and then change to Confluence I have to log in again.
I have checked the cookies. The Crowd Cookie seems to be there, like you can see here:
Cookie.png
This cookie somehow seems to be ignored on my Jira, Confluence and crowd.

The urls I have set up for Jira, Confluence and Crowd are:
https://jira.braunstein-web.com/
https://confluence.braunstein-web.com/
https://crowd.braunstein-web.com:8096/crowd/

So they all are sharing the braunstein-web.com domain.

The crowd directory for Jira and Confluence is set up correctly with the above url and is working. Just Single Sign On does not work.

The username I use is "armin". This user is inside the groups "jira-administrators", "jira-users", "confluence-administrators", "confluence-users", "crowd-administrators".

On Jira I am using the SSOSeraphAuthenticator, on Confluence the ConfluenceCrowdSSOAuthenticator.

I also tried to switch off the "Require consistent client IP address", but also did not help.

Please find the debugging log of crowd here:

I had this question after viewing Need to kill an application that is auto starting on Windows CE 5.0.

I have a remote device running Windows Embedded CE 6.   I would like to add some bench automation to this unit, but like most target devices ti has an autostart routine that puts an app on a touch screen with limited functions.    I am confident I can get the automation I need if I can only poke around in the file system of the target device.   I am trying to connect to the device remotely with a Windows10 machine, so activesync is out.  I did try a windows XP machine and activesync failed, so the target device is not set up for that.   That leaves TCP/IP I guess and a connection with Visual Studio tools?   Is there a better tool?   VS requires that I install Corecon files to the target, but if I could install files to the target, I would not need Visual Studios.....  The unit can be attached with OEM software to run remotely as well as firmware updates are installed via USB connection, so I am pretty sure there is an agent installed to the target that allows this.   The unit installs to devices under Windows10 as "USB Remote NDIS Network Device".  I apologize for my novice approach here, but I am more of a hardware gy than software.   I am willing to hire this hel pout if anyone knows a contractor that works with embedded windows.     Thanks so much for reading!!

Hi
I'm trying to evaluate a test suite reduction technique on a source code  (named Tcas : a source code from siemenc programs in C language which has generated test cases and can be downloaded from http://sir.unl.edu/php/index.php). It has test cases for statement coverage. There is a file named "sth" which has information about which test case tests which statements.
I have problems in understanding that which test case tests which statements. Because I can't relate test cases with statements. More precisely I have problems in understanding test cases and how to run them on source code.
I have uploaded two files ( tcas.c and sth). "tcas.c" contains source code and "sth" contains statement coverage information for every test in test universe.
if you look at the sth file, there are some numbers. I took an screenshot from a part of sth file to state my problem. it is a screenshot from "ALIM()" function in source code.
I understood that the yellow colored line in screenshot says it is for the third statement of "ALIM" . first question: how statements have been counted? because it seems ALIM has only one statement in the source code.
second question: I have shown other lines with blue circle. I understood that these indicate test cases, but I don't know what those numbers (or characters) mean? why there are 20 columns and 10 rows of numbers and characters?

If anyone have worked with siemenc programs source codes or know any information please help me!

Hello,

I want some help to create a pre commit hook to Restrict Subversion commits if the Jira Issue key is Not in.
I am very new to SVN and don't have any experience in scripting also.
SVN is installed on Windows serve 2016.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

I have found the below link. But its for Linux and not sure how to change it to windows.

I have a very big production server in a VM with lots of web pages and SQL database code.

I have 3 options:

1) DEV server with VisualSVN and Jira for bug tracking
PROD server

When code is tested on DEV, it is deployed to PROD.

2) PROD / DEV server is the same machine with VisualSVN and Jira for bug tracking
When code is tested on DEV, it is deployed to PROD.

3) DEV server with VisualSVN
PROD server
JIRA server (hosted version for bug tracking)

When code is tested on DEV, it is deployed to PROD.

-> Which option would you choose and why?

-> How do you track bugs and how do developers communicate in joint projects / code?

Is it a good practice to create Classes for each web page in qtp/uft for automated testing of webpages. What do you suggest for page object modelling in UFT. how can we achieve it

Hi,

This about automating the Application verification.

As part of testing we are verifying some online application every day and seeing the response at the end and confirming that the application working as expected.

Cant we automate this process. If we did that it will reduce 30 mints of our time. Also if this can be done from the UFT tool also fine for me. we dont have selenium in our machine and it is not allowed. Please share your thougths and suggestions if any.

Hello there,

Good Day!

I would like to have the best suggestion on performance testing  to one of our project.

Well, right now the server response time is 80 responses per sec(80/sec) but our client requirement is 2333 per second.

Kindly need the suggestion what to do in such type of scenarios? what should be the server configuration to achieve the client requirement?

Waiting for the best suggestion.

Have A Nice Day!

Bye.
