I have NS Basic 4.1, but may upgrade to 4.4 while waiting for a response here.

Is it possible to capture and store the signal that the camcorder remote sends to the camcoder to tell it to take a picture?  I would then like to take this stored signal and send it out from the Palm pilot every 5 seconds for time-lapse photography.

ANY help is greatly appreciated.  Programming the palm is fairly new to me, so I will definitely not be insulted with details.  I have created an app that controls the movement of a mini-sumo robot with an attached serial cable, but that is all output.  I don't have a clue as to how to "capture" the signal sent from another remote into the palm.

I am trying to create a small 2D game where I have a field of dimensions 1000x1000 units.
On this field I have a robot and a box.
Robot is defined by its coordinates (in field units) and the direction where it is looking (in degrees).
         - for example:    RobotPositionX = 323,       RobotPositionY = 476,       RobotDirection = 43              (RX, RY, RD      - to make it simple)

Box is defined only by its coordinates:     BoxPositionX,   BoxPositionY     (BX, BY)

The robot has the field of view of 90 degrees. Which means, it can see 45 degrees to the left and 45 degrees to the right.

I would like to know the following:
    - can the robot see the box: YES or NO.
    - where on its view is the box:    from -45 to +45 degrees, where 0 means that the box is right in front of it, -34 means it is on robot's left side.
    - how far is the box

Now some more information which might or might not be usefull:
 - origin point of coordinate system is at top-left point of playfield
 - when robot's direction is set to 0 degrees, it is looking towards north (up)
 - degrees are increasing clockwise which means when RD = 90, robot is looking towards East

Hello everyone.

Really need someone to explain to me how do I communicate from a VB interface with a robot. I want to connect a robot (Basic Stamp language) to a pc where the user would use the interface from VB to input data or give instruction to the robot. But I don't know how these two (VB & Basic Stamp) communicates. Hope that someone out there can help me here.

I am programming a robot on a 16 bit HCS12 processor and I am trying to measure the changle in x/y. The problem that I am having is that I cannot use floating point math. I am given a delta-angle and a delta-distance where:


the angle has a precision of .5 degrees and delta-distance is not in terms of real units.

Does anyone have a algorithm that does not require floating point math? X and Y don't have to be in terms of real units, they just need to be proportional to each other.
can c programming be used for programming robots or hardware? if yes,can u help me with some indian author's books on this topic?
I'm having trouble with the calculateValue function in my minimax class.

Occasionally the AI behaves Intrinsically Stupid rather than Artificially Intelligent.

Im programming a robot in java using the lejos operating system and the lego mindstorm kits. Do you know a way of distinguishing between two sensors on the same connector. Any help is greatly appreciated.

         I am software Engineering graduate who would like to continue her studies. I know this section might not be the right place to write down my thoughts, however, I believe that someone could help me answering some questions. One question is as a SWET person what shall I study in AI -- i wonder if it focused only on programming or I can work with machines as well (building one 4 example then programme it) -- Later on, How can I use AI with my career as SW Engineer or even a programmer. I would like to build a case based reasoning advisory system, which is a web-based system. I just not sure that is it I can implement case based reasoning technique (artificial intelligence features) in either ASP.NET or .NET MOBILE? If so, what languages I can use for case based reasoning part? C#? VBScript? Or java? If I use java, is it java can implement in ASP.NET or .NET Mobile?

If now I like to build a mobile-based system, can somebody list out the software I need to build it? As I know, I need Microsoft Mobile Internet Toolkit, and emulators to test the pages. And what else?

The aim is that i have six microphones that will be placed around the babies head, and two in the eyes. i have to organise it in a Octahedral configuration, to obtain balanced sound. So the aim is that the baby responds to a noise and follows a talker. The ultimate aim is to give it vision and sound recognition, so it can handle commands.and it will record and analyse the sound once obtained. This cybernetic project is very interesting. I had been reading up on many books about robotics.  Building the platform and other physical parts of the robot are not hard, but can be accomplished.

I have one huge problem, however.  A robot cannot run without a brain, right?  So that's where embedded micontrollers come into play.  My problem is I don't know how to even start programming them.  I don't want to waste huge amounts of money buying the BASIC program for PIC Microcontrollers or buy Parallax Stamps that also uses the BASIC programming.  I have some background in C++.  I am taking my 2nd semester in C++.  I'm learning object orientated programming.  I heard from someone that it'll help me with the embedded chip programming, but I'm not sure how it will help me.

Getting to my main question, how do I even start to program embedded microchips like the PIC16F84 or the PIC16F627?  If you know how to program other microcontrollers, please answer as well.  If there are books out there, can someone suggest one or more?  I already have one called "Programming Robot Controllers", but all the programming is done in C.  I'm learning C++ and the coding in C is a bit different.  

If possible, can someone include a tutorial or instructions on how to start programming a microcontroller in C++?  Or sample codes on how to program a microcontroller.  Please explain the code, if possible.  If there are any internet links that relate to my question feel free to post it here.  If anyone has any experience with embedded chip …

Hi, I am currently doing an Artificial Intelligence project. I am requried to built a Robot Delivery System where I have to simulate the delivery of parcels to rooms(which need key to open) and labs(don't need any key).

The area I am stuck in is to find the shortest path using depth first search algorithm, from a location to the destination. I has wrote up some algorithm but to no success.

How do I code a simple search algorithm? The general idea is this, I have the following datas.

1.) Rooms, labs, corridors each are represented by grids where I have plotted a 9 X 6 two dimensional array.

2.) Each grid is a square that has 4 adjacent to another grid square (but some have less adjacent depending if they have walls, doors and route to the other square).

My robot have to sent parcel from a location to another in the shortest route.
