Hi, It looks like our sitemap lists pages which have a canonical tag, like  www dot magickitchen.com/menu/get-well/7601.html.

Is that something not allowed by Google? Will it affect search results? Because the site map generator just adds them in, and I update it every few months. It will take some extra work to list all my pages with canonical tags and remove them from the sitemap each time.

For instance, this is listed five times in different categories, the highlighted one is the canonical page.

Thanks, looking forward to your advice!

Our site is a dynamic site where data is pulled through API.

I'm not sure if something has to be tweaked in wordpress or htaccess file. Also another biggest issue is, our organic traffic has dropped 80%, I understand that initially when platform changes, there will be a traffic drop but it's not improving month on month. Did we do something wrong in migration, I'm not sure, Please help.
How do we remove our company from a google Business listing.

The listing with the map, photo, reviews etc down the right hand side.

We simply want it to disappear.

We have access to the account.

Please, can somebody help me with this issue? I have a website and want to be added to Google News but they reject my submission. The website URL is -> https://www.airlineratings.com/.

If you have some information what I should change on my website to meet the Google News recommendations, please send them to me.

Much appreciated.

I'm looking forward to your reply.
Best Regards,
I had to change the filenames of most pages for my site from .html to .php.
Offhand I see 2 snags with this:
1.  SEO:  Does anyone have an example of the code to do 301 Redirects on all .hmtl pages to help pass Google SEO credit thru to the .php files of the same name?
2.  EXISTING EXTERNAL LINKS:  Does this 301 redirect ALSO forward Browser Users to the new .php page, or do I need to handle that separately so that the hundreds of eternal .html links do not 404 ?
Got a call today from a non-client hoping that I could help.  Their website address is http://www.northlakesdistributing.com/.  When you type it in in the address bar, you get to their site. When you Google north lakes distributing, the first result appears to be the correct url but it goes to a drug site.  Where is the problem?  The host?  Not sure how to fix since the site does appear when you type it in directly but the google search is messed up.
I have been building websites so that in the HTML the content area appears above the header so the keywords appear closer to the top of the page. I was under the impression this gave you advantages when targeting keywords in SEO as the important keywords appear closer to the start of the HTML.

So instead of:

The HTML is arranged like:

The CSS is adjusted accordingly so the front end is still displayed in the correct order.

Is this given importance by Google in their search engine ranking or am I going over top and this is actually unnecessary?
In a meeting some time back, a comment was thrown on the table that over 88% of companies in the US, with 100+ employees, are using social media.  We don't have any social media presences and are now considering it - we did started setting up just accounts for social media that was mention in that meeting (facebook, tweeter, linkedin, youtube, instagram, pinterest).

We understand this is a vast subject, and maybe complicated, but would greatly appreciated any EE that may have some experience in the topic, share their advice  in:

- what to consider prior.
- which social media get into first.
- how many should we set up in.
- doing this less monies possible (as a start).

Thank you in advance.
I've built a webpage that features my book that contains 35,000 different services you can provide with your home computer.  Seeking to draw more viewers to my webpage who are searching for information about one or more of the services contained in my book.  Don't think it prudent to list 35,000 keywords on my webpage, and don't have enough experience using META or Indexing to know whether they are viable options.  Would welcome expert's exchange.  Thanks.
I have a client that has a Google Adwords account.  The account was suspended.  The message read:
Your AdWords account has been suspended because it does not comply with our "Misleading Content and Missing Information" policy on untrustworthy behavior.
Policy violation:
Untrustworthy behavior

I have scoured the site and read all of the documentation and for the life of me cannot find what the issue may be:

I initially created a profile with just first name and last initial because I didn't want anyone finding it as I was working on it.

My URL looks like:

I am aware of the Google Control Panel, but "not set" is a problem. Is there another way?
Is there a repository or anything like that of old versions of your website?  Indexed pages with old content?  Is there a way to "Purge" the internet of any old versions of webpages?  Meaning, there some old pages from my website that are indexed that I have changed and or deleted that still come up for some reason.  Thanks in advance,.
The last time I received Adsense approval, I invited a lot of people interested in my blog topic to post, to get Adsense approval.
Is this the only way?

Is Google only interested in constant visits, traffic, not blog posts?
These are the Adsense approval bullet points. below
One seems to be that I must use the original URL that I used when I set up my account. I don't do that site anymore, but all my sites exist under a main URL for my account in godaddy.  How do I know which site that it wants, or correct it for it to work? what does it expect? Might it be relative to my umbrella URL for my godaddy account?

i) Copy the code exactly as it appears on your AdSense homepage.
ii) Place the code on the URL that you provided when you created your AdSense account.
iii) Make sure that you place the code on a page that has content and receives regular visitors.

I need to be able to edit the Business information "card" that Google displays when you search for a business.   In fact, what is that Google feature called?  The client wants to change some info in that "card" but whoever set it up for them is no long reachable and no one knows what the google account is or if there was one even set up.

how does safe search work in a search engine?

I type 'bad word' and get less results when using site:domain.com
If I just build a web page and publish it won't the Google bot see it and come index it?  Is there any need to set up a Google Search Console account?

Hi All -
When we run Pay-per-Click campaigns for Customers, I want to be able to show a Customer the results, Cost per Click, etc ... HOWEVER I need to include our markup in the cost numbers ...
For example,  a Click costs us $1.00. I want to be able to show $1.25. Everything else is the same.
Can anyone suggest any options? Either using Google/Bing or Open Source SW :) :)  or 3rd party SW.

Thanks all in advance!
The company I work for are considering becoming affiliated with another company in the same sector, principally to drive extra traffic to our site. However, in recent weeks we have noticed that the other site has been dropping in the search rankings for our main keyword. They have gone from being firmly established on page 1 to page 4 and page 5.

For the same keyword our site is on page 2. If the planned affiliation goes ahead then customers visiting the other site will start to be re-directed to our site to complete a transaction and so my question is, will becoming affiliated with a site that has recently taken a hit in the SERPs have a negative effect on our ranking? Would Google see a relationship between the 2 companies and penalise us by association?
I searched Google.co.uk using these search terms:  front-runners back-runners "harnes racing"

Then, I found an interesting website (number 3 on the first page of Google.co.uk) as one of the search hits:

On the Google.co.uk search hits page, there is this text for this number 3 website:

the possible front runners racing style

So I want to read more about that, but when opening the number 3 website this text is not there. Why, and how should I get to it?

I'm writing structured data code for my breadcrumb and ran into a question about the position number of the item.

For Seattle:
1. US-->2. WA--->3. King County--->4. Seattle

This is my breadcrumb for Seattle, which is in position 4.  The numbers are not displayed to the users of course, but in the code behind for structured data, the numbers are required by Google.
"itemListElement": [{
    "@type": "ListItem",
    "position": 1,

Open in new window

However Canada doesn't have counties for their cities.  So on my Calgary page, the breadcrumb naturally will not show a "county" level.  but when it comes to the structured data code behind, which is appropriate, is calgary in position 3 or position 4?

1.  Canada-->2. AB-->4. Calgary

1.  Canada -->2. AB -->3. Calgary

Since all the US cities have the city at the fourth position, I wondered if I should "skip" a level for my pages on Canadian cities, but I'm not sure what the best practice is.  Should I code my structured data to put canadian cities in position 4, or position 3?
