I have inherited a WrdPress web site that uses Yoast SEO.

I am unable (so far) to figure out how to add key words & phrases to increase our visibility to people looking for us, but not knowing us by name.

Is there full docs available on-line that covers this?

Thanks

I am having a hard time creating a site map with https://www.gopherstateevents.com/  Could it be because I have several pages (including the home page) that were made with Mobirise and the rest are classic asp pages?  I've tried several online xml site map creators and none seem to be working for me.

I work as a translator, and sometimes a project contains a lot of difficult terms so I have to lookup each and every term in the documents. But when even Google searches don't render any results or only a few pages, it's really difficult to find a translation for such terms. Almost always in these cases, it's a technical handbok for some kind of machinery. Today I translate several handbooks for crushers, feeders and screens (cone crusher, jaw crusher, huck bolted inclined screen, scalping screen and a vibrating grizzly feeder).

So I was thinking of this solution, if it's viable:

I have a list of these difficult terms that don't give any search results on my national Google.se (advanced search settings: display results in my language Swedish) and can't find anything in my technical electronic dictionaries either. The best now would be if I could find other documents (pdfs, word documents etc.) and also websites in a selection of languages (I am proficient in German, Spanish, Italian, French, Norwegian and Danish) for these terms in this list by doing a deep web search.

Also, if I could find exhaustive definition context for these terms on English websites and in documents in English. The best is of course a comprehensive technical dictionary, but the one I found, McGraw-Hill Multimedia Encyclopedia of Science & Technology, seems to be out of stock everywhere.

But perhaps the most effective way would be to search for the hyperonym of all these terms in my term …

Hi,

Need examples of best basic JSON-LD schema information for website homepage.  What looks good?  Just dipping my toe into the JSON water.  Getting penalized by Google a bit now.  Want just to cover the basics.  Will customize once I know more.  Just enough to pass the bar, as it were.

Need a few homepage examples - site I could see, please.  Sites with a few pages / sections to them.

For what its worth, in looking around and getting more confused, here's what I've seen.  These are obviously huge sites.  Looked at them for proper structure.  Hoping to find a short set of must haves from you friends and on a site that codes them well to get me out of the gate.

I am moving a site to WooCommerce which uses different url's that my old Prestashop site.  I have found that the old url's are going to the home  page instead of showing a 404.  I need to remove whatever is going to the home page.  This is because I want to run xml-sitemaps.com to find the broken links.  However, they aren't showing up because they are going to the home page automatically.

This is the .htaccess in the public directory where wordpress resides

# BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>

# END WordPress

Open in new window

Please tell me how to get these old links to show a 404.

Thanks,

Randal

This course will introduce you to the interfaces and features of Microsoft Office 2010 Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access. You will learn about the features that are shared between all products in the Office suite, as well as the new features that are product specific.

I got some questions about SEO friendly url's

1.-I was wondering if it is possible to use a SEO friendly url's to download a file, I mean usually to download a file most of us use url's like "http://www.grupossc.com/pdf/something.pdf", but I would like to know if it is posible to add a "rewriterule" in my .htaccess to use a SEO friendly url like "http://www.grupossc.com/downloads/something" to download the pdf file localted in the folder "pdf" and hide the real path of the file.

2.- ¿It is possible to use SEO url's with php includes?
In my code i got code like <?php include ("assets/principal.php"); ?>, but I wanna know if it is possible to add a "rewriterule" in my .htaccess to use a SEO friendly url to use includes like <?php include ("http://www.grupossc.com/myseourl/myphpfile"); ?>

this is make me crazy

check this link: http://www.gruposc.com/industrias/Aeroespacial-Defensa

I dont know why when you enter to any of my SEO links with "industrias/" you will redirected to "www.sancayetano.es" for example: http://www.sancayetano.es/industrias/Aeroespacial-Defensa

As far I do remeber I never add any redirection to that server,

In my htaccess this is the line that redirect my SEO links with "industrias/" to an internal page in my site: RewriteRule ^industrias/([a-zA-Z0-9-/?=&]*)$ /oculto/industria.php?rID=$1 [L]

Please help

Best regards.

15+ years ago we ran Webposition Gold software with a list of 100+ keywords that automatically reported results from all the engines like the below so you could easily see how your ranking was trending, but Webposition Gold was blocked (http://www.aimclearblog.com/2007/06/11/google-makes-it-official-webposition-gold-is-dead/) since Google/etc wanted to start selling their own Analytic Reporting services

What software do you recommend now so I can find out what rank each one of my 100+ keywords currently have like the attached shows ?

I am OK with using Google Analytics/etc if that will work

Need to get our website to resolve to our secure pages.

Seems like the best way, in terms of SEO, is via a 301 redirect.

Would this code be a 301 redirect?

if($_SERVER['HTTP_X_FORWARDED_PROTO']=="http"){
header('Location:https://'.$_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'].$_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']);
exit;
}

Open in new window

Or, will this be looked at as, not only NOT 301, but somehow seemingly the WRONG way to achieve our goal and result in a SEO penalty?

Many thanks!

Hi, we rebuilt our site last year, and have also been doing a lot of SEO work. As a result, I have over 2000 redirects in my htaccess file. I think by now I can start getting rid of a lot of them, as the crawlers should now have stopped indexing these pages.

But how can I know? Is there a tutorial that takes me through the steps for doing this? Example: in October last year, our page about.html became our-story.html, and I added a redirect.

Can I now take that redirect off the htaccess?  site is www dot magic kitchen dot com.

Other examples:

1. We renamed products, so what was dutch-apple-pie.html  is now dutch-apple-pie_7321.html. That was also back in last October. There are hundreds of these.
2. Old products that are now off the site: RedirectPermanent  /menu/Vegetarian/vegetable-lasagna.html   now gets redirected to /menu/Vegetarian.html

Thanks for any and all advice!

Well established site.  Online for at least 10 years.

Many thousands of pages indexed highly in Google for key search terms

Never used sitemap.

What evidence is there for and against submitting an Sitemap?  The negative I have seen is that pages and places missed in site map, even well-linked ones, get cut out --> negative overall SEO impact.

What proof is there either way?

Thanks,

OT

Has anyone had any success challenging a Google Review (on G. Places/G.Maps) that is fake, and having it removed?
(I have a new client that has 2 reviews, from 2 different "people". The reviews are identical, one is from someone in Pennsylvania & the other is in Indiana. And my client runs a local business in California, a Doctors Office. Fairly obvious both reviews are fake).

Along the same lines, if that fails, are there other options, like:
- Adding a comment from the Owner
- Ditching that Google Places account and start over fresh?

I am in Google Search console looking at statistics for my property. I would like to see where the queries come from but I don't see how. Google does say "See how your search traffic changes over time, where it's coming from, and what search queries are most likely to show your site".  It is important to me to know where the searches are coming from. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Can anyone recommend a free or almost-free Keyword analysis tool?
Every year or two I want to do a little keyword/phrase research for SEO purposes.
I used to use Google's Keyword Tool but can't seem to find it.

I have a website suppose abc.com, I published an article on my website's blog a week ago. During this time, I promote my post to various social media platform like Facebook, Twitter, G+, LinkedIn, etc. After 7 days, I republish my same post with a different title in medium.com, storify.com, linkedin.com. Does it hurt my SEO by creating duplicate content to other sites?

Hi,  truenasreseller dot com is the site, it's running the latest wordpress. I've got the leverage browser caching plugin installed, and htaccess shows it's there, see attached. But gtmetrix.com shows that browser caching is not enabled, they are still giving an F and a 0 rating. Why would that be so?

I'm hosted on Bluehost, with whom I'm very unhappy, but for the time being I want to get this grade up so that I can show them the issue is on their end. Thanks!
