Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the visibility of web content in search engines using an understanding of search engines' processes and algorithms. Also known as "natural" or "organic" search, it is distinct from paid web advertising. Performance is typically measured by testing the appearance of a website for targeted search terms, and more specifically, ranked positions in search for important keywords. Techniques focus on content optimization, technical optimization and link building.

We have over 500 pages of informational articles on a variety of topics, mostly these nine: Diabetic Health & Diet, Dialysis Health & Diet, Low Sodium Diet, Portion Control, Renal Health & Diet, Seniors Health & Diet, Glutenfree Diet, Low Carb diet, General  Health & Diet.

The urls are attached. (pages.txt)

The question I have is, for SEO, would it be better for me to combine similar articles, and then redirect the old articles to the new page?  As opposed to leaving them as they are.

Thanks in advance.

I am working with pagespeed and gtmetrix and they both say I need to defer this script -

As you can see in the plugin async javascript I have this listed to defer

However, looking at the source at you can see that the script isn't being deferred.

Here is the gtmetrix readout -

How do I get this script to defer?  Is there another method that is better?

I am needing to find out what css or script needs to be excluded from the deferral tag.  If you go to this page - you will see under the herb bottle a blank thumbnail.  That is what should be showing the label of the product.  But it seems when I lazy load images to improve my pagespeed score that the label image isn't displayed anymore.

I have looked on Google console, but to no avail, so please tell me the steps to identify the script or css that needs to be excluded.

Recently we have updated the website after that google search shows the wrong URL for the website.

example: (google search shows this URL in search but after the upgrade, we have removed the page /eu , now it show only How to fix this google search result or can I redirect the URL to which is the best solution? why google search result shows the old URL?
I'm doing some SEO work on my own Wordpress website to improve my chances of it popping up in search results and recently posted a question here where I got some very useful tips and information.

Per the information I've been given, I'm currently looking at Categories vs Tags as suggested by an expert in my other question.

I suggest you change this in WP to use /tag/page or /category/page

My problem is that I don't fully understand the help article that I've been pointed to.

Can anyone explain the differences between the two to me in layman's terms, as well as perhaps include a screenshot or two of what I'm supposed to be changing and where, in Wordpress?

My wordpress skills are fairly basic so please don't assume too much knowledge - what I'm after is specific directions as to what to change and in what areas of Wordpress I'm supposed to be making those changes.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Regards, Andrew
Hi Experts,

I'm after recommendations for someone or a company that can go through my Wordpress created website for Google Seach Engine Optimization and do the optimization for me at a reasonable price. I know very little about SEO apart from the purpose and importance of it. How to implement it on my site though, is beyond my own technical skills and experience.

I know that "reasonable price" is a subjective term and can't give a price that I'm willing to spend at this stage, except to say that I'd like to spend as little as possible :)

I'm open to all offers from both Experts Exchange members who have personal experience with doing this sort of thing, as well as recommendations from members who have personally used the services any companies they recommend I contact.

Thanks in advance for any offers and/or suggestions.

Regards, Andrew
Does the “noopener noreferrer” tag impact on a website’s bounce rate?
I have searched the Internet for days now trying to determine what happens when an affiliate link is 301 Redirected via cPanel.  The main question is that I want to know how the Google Indexing of the Domain and link will show if it is an Amazon affiliate link. Can someone help me to understand this process? I have gone to forums and did days worth of Google Search.
Just a quick question. My website uses a header file which is included on all my pages. In that header file I list my meta-data, including a meta description. If I wanted to have a separate meta description for certain pages (I've read this is generally good practice), but continue to want to include the header in that page,  how would I best do that?

If I just entered another meta description, would that overwrite the one picked up in the  included header file, or would that confuse the crawler bots?

Many thanks for reading,

When looking up this site on google with (example)

It looks like google is confused on the listing and only lists the main URL of the site and no other pages seem to be indexed. It also lists other webites that have the phrase The Kathy Collection on them.

Does this mean that i have to re brand the site so it is something specifically unique like

Or can i just purchase that domain and add it as a secondary domain to the site - Will google then use this new domain to index it separately and potentially clear up the confusion in google search results to only include pages that are from that domain when performing on google?

Any other guidance is greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks in advanced!

I'm looking for software that does what Yext does — updating and making consistent my client's company's NAP, etc, across the important web search engines, directories, etc. I haven't worked too much with Yext, but the big drawback, to my understanding, is that upon subscription cancellation, all updated data is deleted and listings are restored to their original states.

I just hate being held captive to their platform, and I'm looking for an alternative that's as intuitive; optimally has reasonable, set pricing; and leaves your updated info in place regardless of account status. Oh, and it also has to work!

If such alternative platforms to Yext exist, I'd be grateful to learn of them.

I need traffic to my website. I have started with Social Media, Submitting my sites to Search Engines.

Several years ago, I studied SEO but, I have found that things have changed so much as it pertains to traffic such as Meta Tag's submissions and PPC.

I am looking to building up my traffic up to my E-commerce Websites / Aliexpress Affiliate websites.

Can you help me to build my traffic to my websites and to build my SEO?  My sites are very new in the development stages. If possible I would like free or low costing options.

Thanks in advance Experts.
I have Aliexpress affiliate website where I am getting most of my traffic from Search.

The sites have been around for about 45 days.

I have placed links on Twitter, Reddit, Google Plus, Facebook and Instagram for traffic. And, I have completed the Google Analytics and Google Console.

I submitted the websites to other search engines a few days ago.

I placed the sites on Hotjar, the free version.

I am looking to get more "free" traffic!

I was told that it is best to let the website's index in Google for about six months.

I am going to send out press releases.

I need some good ideas for more traffic. Can you help me?  I am a newbie.  Thanks in advance.

***Note I tried to put one of my Affiliate Website on Outbrain. I was told that my websites are not a good fit for their Native Ad.***
I have a website that I designed with the Aliplugin.  This is it:  My website visits are about 400 visits per day with any advertising other than links on Facebook, Twitter, and Google Plus.  I have two problems. One is the traffic and the other is that fact that no one is buying any of the affiliate products.  I have close to 19000 products on the website and can add more. I was advised by the Alipartnership to add as much product to increase my chances of indexing quickly.  I am a complete newbie and want to stop spinning my wheels on these issues. Can I get a little help on getting possible free traffic or very cheap traffic? And, I want to know how I can possibly get some one to buy something on my website to start making affiliate income?  I have had the website up going on two months. I do not want to just jump ship now based on the advise of the Aliplugin people. i'm just sayin'
Is there any SEO value in including a key word in the url.

I have a small lawyers practice.  It is based in a very small town of about 11,500. It is

Two other firms have joined the town in the last couple of years,

The town is Syston

Their offices are branch offices but in searches their entries show up as xxx/offices/Syston/  etc.

Is their any additional (or much) SEO value in moving some of my key folders and files to team

as opposed to

given that oftentimes people will be searching for "Syston lawyers"

I have completed a 301 Redirect via cPanel using my affiliate link.  I have two questions.

How to do I get my website ranked on Google?  I have added the website to Google Analytics.  One problem is that I was unable to verify it via Search Console.

And, the second question is how do I advertise since it is showing up as Spam to the Search Engines and Social Media websites?
I got an error in the Google Search Console stating "URL not in property."  Now, I have added my website to Google Search Console and verified it.  I do not have any stats in my Google Search Console other than the sitemmap info but in my Google Analytics I have data.  Can someone help me with this error?
