Our Company is implementing this effort for the client to meet the needs around the managers meeting where approximately 100 team members gather to speak to leadership. My Client has recently acquired 1500 Office 365 licenses and we will work closely with the organisation to implement a proven and best practices virtual meeting solution.

can someone please help me how to proceed with this project.

Skype 8 - force a lower resolution/frame rate for the other side.  I do not use a camera on my side and my bandwidth is slow.  In Skype 7 I never had much problem in having a conversation with someone across the world when they used video.  In Skype 8 I am ALWAYS having video problems because Skype 8 is attempting to show a high definition video and is killing the bandwidth.

I want a way (registry edit, config file edit, etc) that will force Skype 8 to use a lower resolution or frame rate so I can have some video at a reasonable standard definition level and not lose the call or freeze all the time.

Again, Skype 7 - no problems (99% of the time), Skype 8 - almost always a problem.

This is NOT a computer issue, this is a Skype 8 issue.

Dear all,

We currently have Skype for Business to communicate with board members located at different locations.  The quality of sound and picture is good.  However, it seems to be difficult to use by the board of trustees, because it requires a password to log in and sometimes they have an issue with audio.   The alternative solution suggested was Zoom.  I have tested the system and seem to be easy to use.  I am not sure about the quality of sound and picture?

What experience do you have with Zoom, if it is used for up to 7 users, in regards to the following points:
- Sound quality
- Picture
- Dial-in Number, reliability and sound quality

How do you compare Skype for Business with Zoom, relative to the above points?

Can anyone point me to a sample configuration for accommodating Skype for Business Quality of Service on their Cisco IOS and/or Nexus OS network? This would prioritize Skype audio and skype video.

I was wondering if I have O365 and have  Room resources in Exchange, and then phones in each room physically that are licensed with Skype, is there a way to set it up so that the Booking the Room resource from Outlook will add the meeting a d/or Skype meeting to the phone calendar?
Would I need to sign into the phone with the Skype account or the Exchange Resource account?

Force the Skype for Business client to start when the user logs in. I am using Office 365 Proplus and SKype for business in our organization. Users are unchecking autologin manually after system logged in. How do force skype to login every time user logs in? GPO or any other way we can achieve this?

Skype for Bidness 2016 formerly known as Lync does not currently work on my computer. It did a week ago. I tried other computers and it works fine. Checked Tools>Options>Personal>Advanced and the internal server name and External server names are both correct. Tried uninstalling MS Office 2016. Not sure what else to check.

2 or 3 users are complaining that  they dont see new skype meeting icon in their calendar, it is  missing

i checked the add ins , one of .dll related to skype was disabled, i enabled  but still skype for meeting is not showing up in their calendar

anything else i need to do

som ehave outlook 2010, some outlook 2016 all other users seems ok

I do have a user in my organization [SFB on prem] with several FE servers and MBX in a DAG 2016 with an unknown presence status on IM

Troubleshooting done so far

I remote into user’s PC, clear SFB cache client, outlook profile recreated, delete OAB files, reboot computer, no luck
 
User tried from another computer, same thing.
 
Fixed the discrepancy with SIP proxy address attribute
 
Any ideas?  What I missed here? Her account was updated yesterday, so OAB replication should not be an issue here.

Hello Experts, I have Exchange 2013 CU21, with AD 2012 R2, on prem. We have Azure AD connect setup for synchronization of accounts to Office 365, and leverage pass-through authentication. We also have SFB 2015 on-prem and have setup SFB hybrid with SFB online. I would like to introduce Teams into the organization, but am having difficulty with the SFB and teams interoperability. When a user that has been migrated to O365 for E-mail and Skype, from their Teams, messages an on-prem SFB user, the chat message does not appear in their SFB client, instead the on-prem user receives an email saying someone is trying to contact them on Teams, and asks them to install Teams. I would like to have the message go straight to SFB client.

For the Teams Users, i have set the parameters as shown in attached pic: Capture1, and for the on-prem SFB user, i have set the parameters as shown in attached pic: Capture2, based on this Microsoft article: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/MicrosoftTeams/migration-interop-guidance-for-teams-with-skype

when the SFB user from on-prem messages the Office 365 user from their SFB client, then the O365 user receives it in Teams, and then they are able to chat with one another, but it seems that the Teams user cannot initiate the chat. However, if a Teams user from O365 Teams calls a user on-prem, then the calls comes in their SFB client which is good. but chat does not seem to be working as it should. Has anyone experienced this issue? Any guidance …

Hello Experts. We have Exchange 2013 Cu21 with AD2012R2, Skype for business 2016 on prem. we have set up hybrid configuration with Office 365 for Exchange and SFB. We have started migrations of users to Office 365. I've noticed, if i migrate the users mailbox and cut-over the mailbox to Exchange Online first, then cut-over skype for business to SFB online...the users contacts in SFB are lost after cut-over of SFB to SFB online...which is not what i would like.

I receive an error message if i try to migrate/ cutover the users SFB to SFB online after their mailbox has already been cutover to office 365. I have to use the switch '-force' to cut over the users SFB to SFB online, then it is successfully able to cutover. but the user loses their contacts in SFB online, that existed in SFB prior to the cutover.

But if i cut over a users SFB first to SFB online, before cutting over the users mailbox, i do not receive any error message for cutting over SFB. then the users SFB contacts get carried over aswell, and they do not get lost. What is the reason for this. Has anyone encountered this issue with SFB migrations? How can it be resolved for users that i cut-over their email first before cutting over their SFB to Office 365? Please let me know, and thanks in advance.

I am having an odd issue, some users are constantly receiving a request to enter there credentials for Outlook and Skype. We have a hybrid O365 environment and for the life of me I can not figure out why this keeps happening. The fix I have found is to remove all saved credentials and then have them re-enter but for some users this happens every few weeks and it is extremely frustrating. Anyone else see this of know how to fix it? O365 support hasn't been much help.

I was asked to look into a Task which I'm not sure if it's possible. I have a Lync Server 2013 Enterprise.

Is there a way to set a few users with a specific policy which will allow them to Contact internally only certain users, and Block to Contact anyone else.

This Solution can contain a new Pool in Topology or I'm wondering if there is an option I can achieve them under one Topology.

Also Would be there options like that in Later Skype For Business version.

Hi Experts,

I just recently purchased a MacBook Air for myself to learn more about the operating system and how to use it, so my knowledge of how to configure things in it is pretty elementary, if non existant.

I have a problem I can't seem to find a suitable solution with google. On my install, I have 3 icons that appear as Question marks instead of their icons. Please see example image below.

Icons are a Question Mark
Can anyone explain how I can resolve this, so that the Grammarly, Firefox and Skype icons appear as they should?

Please note: Including any screenshots with your comments if possible (that you think may be helpful) would be a real bonus for me and much appreciated at this stage of my learning curve ;-)

Hello,
A user feedback me that the Skype For business with external contact (skypeids.net) no longer working since 28 Aug 2018.
It is working previosuly. the users with whom it exchanged have addresses of the type: thaonguyen@skypeids.net
I can't find anything on this domain skypeids.net? is this the domain of skype? does Skype for business know how to communicate with personal skype?
I can't understand the problem ? could you help me to understand the problem and  what to look for ?

Is there any other way or method of gathering inactivity reports other than going to the Office 365 portal in reporting and exporting Office 365 active users?  How accurate/reliable is the data in this for last activity in exchange, skype, sharepoint, etc.?

I also ran this PS script, but this only give me the lastlogon time/date stamp of the mailbox:

My goal is to manage 30k users, and clean up licenses that are no longer needed by 90 days of inactivity.  This would include all aspects of the license:  mail/exchange, skype, sharepoint, access any of the online apps such as word, excel, powerpoint, etc.

Hello,

I need little help with renewing 3rd party certificate on Skype for Business 2015 server.
As per pictures attached, i want to renew only that certificate (SIP, since it is 3rd party and all others are from internal CA), and when i go to Request with Advanced option, and populate everything i end up with csr, that has a common name of webdir.<domain>.com, in stead of sip.<domain>.com (as it is atm).

So, the question is how to renew this certificate but to have CN of sip.<domain>.com, when there is no option to define CN?

Can I use maybe exchange server, generate CSR there, then just delete it after i get new cert, or something like that?

How can i remove or deactivate an ex-employees email account from skype for business directory? I do not want the email address to be searchable since they no longer work for the organization. What is the best solution to permanently remove the account from being accessible.
