Hi,

I just got a new Cell Phone (Samsung Notes 8).

My old Cell phone is Samsung Galaxy S4.

There is a steps to TRANSFER the files from the old to the new cell phone.

Question: What is the meaning of TRANSFER of the files? It means that all the files would be No more at the old cell phone or the files just being copied to the new cell phone?

I would like the best way to text from a desktop or laptop PC without knowing the carrier?
There are a few ways to send a text message from any PC but you have to know the person's smartphone carrier.
Then you create an email to the person's cell phone number followed by "@" and the carrier's domain.
But unlike a cell phone, there is no need to lookup the carrier.
I have about 180 physicians with their independently owned smartphones, and I would like to send a text to all of them or a small fraction of them.   I would like to do this from Windows 7, or 8 or 10.
Thank you.

Wireless Charging Technology – Inductive Power Transfer

With technology changing rapidly, new trends are being introduced in the market. Wireless charging technology is one of the growing technologies that are enhancing smartphone durability.

What is wireless charging technology?

Wireless charging technology is a technique which uses cordless charging approach. It’s a transfer of power between two devices with wireless charging technique. It improves the competence of a smartphone and energizes its performance. Charging without a physical connection seems to be a recent phenomenon, wherein it transfers power from point A to point B. Currently, there are more than 600 smartphones being charged wirelessly in the cellular market. Wireless charging technology allows a distinctive power supply solution.

Hello experts, I've got a ZTE model Z933. A while back, my wi-fi stopped working on it for some unknown reason. I took it to my local Telus dealer and they couldn't figure it out - they said I would have to reinstall the OS. That seemed painful as I'd lose all my stuff on my phone (music, contacts, pictures, apps) and have to put it all back on after. Anyway, I don't use wi-fi often on my phone, but I think I will soon have a need to so I'd like to get it resolved (in the easiest way possible!).
Here's how it's behaving now - when I go to my "Settings", and click the slider button for "Wifi" over to the ON position, it goes to ON, but it doesn't turn blue and activate like it used to. If I just click on "Wifi" itself to go into that screen, it says "To see available networks, turn wifi on" (whereas before it would always show any networks it detected). From that screen, if I click the slider button over from OFF to ON, it flashes blue VERY briefly, goes to ON... but is not blue.
Can anyone offer any advice please? I have android version 4.3.

Thanks!

I need to be able to view Excel files on my iPhone that have collapsed rows in them.  For example, on the Excel spreadsheet (in the Excel application on my computer), there is a little plus sign next to row two.  The next row after 2 is row 8.  If I click the plus sign, rows 3-7 appear.  On the native Excel iPhone viewer, all the rows remain collapsed.  There is no plus sign next to the rows.  When i try to open in the Excel app for iPhone, there is a plus sign, but nothing happens when i click on it.

Any way to view collapsed rows in an Excel document on an iPhone?

Thanks very much.

Have a client that recently has begun to have problems with their Gmail.  Smart phone (A) (They don't know what app or POP3 vs IMAP) and Windows 10 PC (B) running webmail on Firefox, Edge, or Google Chrome browsers.  On two separate occasions this week they have viewed an e-mail on the phone and later gone the webmail on the PC where they cannot find the e-mail.  Upon returning to the phone it is still there.  I assumed now they are using POP3 on the phone and had deleted the e-mail, but some how was retained on the phone.  But then they replied to one of the missing e-mails and it now it showed up in webmail.  So they did the same thing to e-mail #2, but it is still nowhere to be seen.  I have had them check the Trash or Junk folders and search for it.  No luck, except one of those after a reply.

I don't have physical access to the phone as they are not interested in driving it to me, nor having me talk them through determining anything.  I expect this will never be resolved, but am curious if anyone has any issues similar to this that might shed some light on things.

Does the iPhone X have a delete button?

While typing, editing, or modifying emails or texts I sometimes find the need to delete letters or words that are in front of the cursor rather than behind the cursor.

So what do I need to do so I can delete these characters in front of where the cursor is currently located?

We want to offer our customers the possibility to download their APN settings trough a browser.
Apple has a Configuration Utility, that works fine.

It seems to be an XML like binary, that includes the details of the APN settings.
When accessing this file in the default (Safari) browser, it asks if you wish to load the config. If so, it loads the APN settings into the phone.

Does Android offer the same option?

Have a building that needs internet access and the the people that were inside said that using their smartphones would be fine.  Here is the problem:  The building is steel and they cannot get cell service AT ALL.  So of course no internet with phones.  Is there a solution to this by placing an antenna or something outside of the building and running a cable to a wireless router inside that the phones can hook up to WIFI?  Or is there a better solution for this scenario?  I was hoping not to have to pull in an internet line that is not there at the moment.

Hi,

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and use the Gmail app on this phone for emails.

There is more than one Gmail address synced with this phone.

How do I set this phone to always default to a particular sender email address.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S9+.
Android Version: 8.0.0

I recently put a micro SD card in it and moved many apps to it.  One of them was Bejeweled Classic by Electronic Arts.  Later I noticed that the icon for it was missing, so I went to download/install it again.  When that happened I got a strange error message: "You cannot install this app because another user has already installed an incompatible version on this device"

NOTE: I cannot find the app on my Installed Applications list.

In the link above someone wrote:
What worked for me was: adb shell pm uninstall com.packagename

I have a Terminal Emulator to try that command, I just need to know the exact packagename.

Question: How do I get a listing of package names in the Terminal Emulator?

I have an off-brand Android phone (Alcatel) using Tracfone as my service provider.  For the last couple of weeks I have been having authentication problems after a Norton alert that "my connection was compromised".  I checked all of the router settings, rebooted the phone and now can no longer connect the phone to my home wi-fi network.  I just get the message "Authentication Problem" after an attempt to connect.  I have restarted the phone numerous times, I have rebooted the router a couple of times, and I have Forgotten the connection and re-added it as a new connection numerous times, but it will not connect properly.

My two daughters have exactly the same phone, and they can connect without a problem.

I can connect my phone to the wireless network at work without a problem.

Short of resetting the phone to its factory defaults, is there anything I can try to resolve this?

I often get ads & screen saver and the Multi Task manager shows it's this app
called Peel Remote  on my Note4's Android.

I can't seem to locate this app to deinstall it: how to locate it to deinstall it?

Specific to healthcare and the privacy issues associated with it, I am looking for an app that can notify a therapist that a patient has arrived for an appointment, has canceled or will be delayed.  Ideally, there would be a smartphone app for therapists and a web front end for the receptionist to use to send out pre-set messages like "Patient has arrived."  No protected health information will be transmitted, just generic notifications for "patient."  I want to avoid using SMS if I can.  Does anyone have experience with any notification systems like this?  I am just dealing with a single receptionist and a group of 6 therapists.  Any inexpensive and proven solution is welcome.

I noticed usually  at night (though I'm uncertain at time), my Note4 (which I bought as
a used device) will go into 'silent mode' ie when new Whatsapp/SMS comes, it is quiet
despite that on some crucial Whatsapp group, I set 'Custom notifications" to alert
with sounds (as I am on-call 24x7).

I will notice that following will become disabled (ie at the lowest/minimum setting)
& after enabling it back, it will go back again & again (with each day) without
intervention from me.
  Settings => Sounds & Notifications => Notifications

When new Whatsapp comes, the pop-up still appear tho
(this is a setting under  Custom Notifications)

When I first got the device from the seller, there's a pop-up saying "Good Night,
do you want to silent your phone" which I will cancel but I don't see this pop-up
anymore the last 2 weeks.

What can I do to disable this 'auto-silent' mode which doesn't reverse itself
even day breaks (it's morning)?

Hi

I have a Samsung S8. I notice there are a couple of different home screens.

1. Home screen (has a tiny house icon at the bottom) has no apps by default
2. If i swipe that screen to the side, then I get another screen which has various apps (but not stuff like phone)
3. If i swipe UP, then i get a black screen which has all apps + phone + SMS + Settings

This seems a bit confusing. What's the point, why not just have one home screen(s) like Apple and I can move apps around?

Hi,

I have a smart phone (Samsung Galaxy S4).
I will be in travelling, and I am not able to bring my computer.
I use the WhatApps (=WA) application for chatting (daily basis); I usually move the files from WA (Video, audio and picture) to my computer every day.

Question: Is there any device that I can use to move the above files every day (Note: I am not able to bring my laptop).

Thanks,
tjie
