If you keep the mobile phones safe in your pocket or purse, it's still at risk for picking up a virus or leaking data to thieves. Hackers don't need physical access to your phone to steal your personal information or infect the device with malware. They infiltrate your phone with innocent-looking apps or link to it via unsecured Wi-Fi networks. A Technology blogging site (http://www.mobileblog24.com/ ) talking about this problem. Before some days I take my new phone from online shopping site (https://www.buymobile.com.bd/). Some informative site (http://www.bbc.co.uk/ ) also provide disadvantage of hacking. Now I want to know how can protect my mobile phone from being hacked?

Hi,

I would like to know how I can send messages using an Amazon Echo to a mobile phone as well as being able to call any phone.

In relation to this:

- The phone being called can be landline or mobile
- It would be a call from an Echo to phone and not Echo to Echo
- The Echo should be able to receive message and calls as well as send
- Would it be free to send messages and make calls in this way
- Also, would anything else be needed to make this work

Thanks,
Robbie

I am a deaf individual and have never been able to use the telephone efficiently due to the fact that I need to lipread.  I sometimes hear snippets of the conversation, but not reliably enough to conduct a professional conversation.  I am not the only one in this boat either.

Over the years I have tried assisted typing services and even voice recognition apps, but I am yet to find anything that works effectively.  Last year I obtained a small grant and put this into the development of an Android voice recognition app, but unfortunately it didn't work very well and I ran out of funding.  I was dealing with an Indian firm and I think they were using an off the shelf online service to process the speech, which was very unreliable and led to unacceptable delays in the processed text appearing on screen.  It was clear to me after this experience that I need to work with experts in the field to stand a chance of success.

I've been toying with the idea of setting up a crowdfunding project to help develop an app that can overcome the obstacles faced by millions of deaf people.  But first It would be helpful to obtain opinions from voice recognition experts, for instance, what is the current state of play in the field?  What limitations are we going to face?  What sort of money are looking at?  Obviously I'm going to need to quantify the whole process before I can put it before the crowd funders or investors.

I'd love to find any interested experts I can work with towards …

Thank you considering this question:

I would like to use a single Google Voice account with one phone number which is attached to it's own email account, and a second phone number which is attached to it's own email account.

I would like to be able forward SMS message from the first phone number to the first email address, and forward SMS messages from the second phone number to the second email address.  Is this even possible?

I am hoping to use the Google Voice Android app to be able to make calls from either number.  Is any of this possible, and if so, how could I set that up?

I have a color filled rectangle.  I want to animate a shape travelling across the rectangle such that it is not visible beyond the rectangle's bounds, but still appears to be entering and leaving the rectangle.

In WPF this could be easily accomplished by setting the ClipToBounds property to true, but this doesn't exist in UWP :(

Any ideas ?

Hello

We came from an environment where we gave our users Blackberry devices since they needed to make international calls. We have a corporate deal with most carriers we were in.

We want to switch to a BYOD model, but this calling aspect is proving difficult to solve.

I had an idea though -

Let's say UserA is in UK and wants to call UserB in the USA. Standard phonecalls will connect UserA to UserB directly, which is expensive.

However - as an organisation, we have a corporate voice network that connects UK to US. Is it possible for a solution there UserA calls UserB, but the call actually routes

UserA > UK Corporate Phone system > US Corporate Phone system > UserB

That means we only need to pay the carriers local calls?

I believe this is called TEHO (Tail End Hop Off) : http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/about/cisco-on-cisco/collaboration/tail-end-hop-off-web.html

Is this possible using a mobile app? I've seen some solutions like the below but interested in people's thoughts

Say, I'm using blackberry Classic Q20 and trying to cope with its low battery life. Kindly recommend a good quality portable battery pack for it.  One or two brands and particular model numbers would be appreciated. If possible, a make and product that is available in South Africa. Thanks

I'm getting this strange NPE when launching a specific activity in my android App.

java.lang.NullPointerException: Attempt to read from field 'com.google.android.gms.ads.internal.client.o com.google.android.gms.ads.i.a' on a null object reference 09-13 09:13:07.220 14820 14820 E AndroidRuntime: at dancam.com.chords.ChordsList.b.a(Unknown Source) 09-13 09:13:07.220 14820 14820 E AndroidRuntime: at dancam.com.chords.ChordsList.g.onClick(Unknown Source)
As you can see from here the source seems to be unknown.

This is my code for the Activity causing the NPE:

public class ChordActivity extends Activity {
ViewPager viewPager;
PagerAdapter adapter;
TextView name, note;
CirclePageIndicator _indicator;
ImageButton sound;
boolean isPremium;
static final String PREFERENCES = "prefs";

@Override
public void onCreate(Bundle b){
    super.onCreate(b);
    setContentView(R.layout.chord_layout);

    SharedPreferences settings = getSharedPreferences(PREFERENCES,0);
    isPremium = settings.getBoolean("status", false);

    /** gestisce le pubblicita */
    if (!isPremium) {
        MobileAds.initialize(getApplicationContext(), "ca-app-pub-6723047396589178/2515152442");
        AdView chordBanner = (AdView) findViewById(R.id.chord_banner);
        AdRequest adRequest = new AdRequest.Builder().build();
        chordBanner.loadAd(adRequest);
    }

    Intent intent = this.getIntent();
    Bundle bundle = intent.getExtras();
