OK so I want to build a cell phone using a Raspberry Pi.
I'm not sure what module to get. Does anyone know. Some are advertised as GSM/GPRS and some as 4G/LTE.
I know GSM is the way to go but still confused when the description doesn't say they handle 4G/LTE.
And any suggestions on the best module to buy. Don't need blue tooth since the Pi already has that and has Wifi.
P.S. I usually buy my componets from Aliexpress.com. Slow delivery but cheaper price, good quality and selection.

I need to find a group texting solution for Android where responses go directly to me, and not back to the group unless desired.

Assistance is greatly appreciated.

Say, Whatsapp Broadcast Msg Info displays READ and Delivered. I want some way to get a list of the Delivered (but not read) in order to be able to resend.
Please suggest a software of method. Does Whatsapp Business make this easier to manage than Whatsapp? I've tried Whatsapp web but this doesn't allow me to export a list and difficult to use in a web interface.

Hello experts, I've got a ZTE model Z933. A while back, my wi-fi stopped working on it for some unknown reason. I took it to my local Telus dealer and they couldn't figure it out - they said I would have to reinstall the OS. That seemed painful as I'd lose all my stuff on my phone (music, contacts, pictures, apps) and have to put it all back on after. Anyway, I don't use wi-fi often on my phone, but I think I will soon have a need to so I'd like to get it resolved (in the easiest way possible!).
Here's how it's behaving now - when I go to my "Settings", and click the slider button for "Wifi" over to the ON position, it goes to ON, but it doesn't turn blue and activate like it used to. If I just click on "Wifi" itself to go into that screen, it says "To see available networks, turn wifi on" (whereas before it would always show any networks it detected). From that screen, if I click the slider button over from OFF to ON, it flashes blue VERY briefly, goes to ON... but is not blue.
Can anyone offer any advice please? I have android version 4.3.

Thanks!

Have a client that recently has begun to have problems with their Gmail.  Smart phone (A) (They don't know what app or POP3 vs IMAP) and Windows 10 PC (B) running webmail on Firefox, Edge, or Google Chrome browsers.  On two separate occasions this week they have viewed an e-mail on the phone and later gone the webmail on the PC where they cannot find the e-mail.  Upon returning to the phone it is still there.  I assumed now they are using POP3 on the phone and had deleted the e-mail, but some how was retained on the phone.  But then they replied to one of the missing e-mails and it now it showed up in webmail.  So they did the same thing to e-mail #2, but it is still nowhere to be seen.  I have had them check the Trash or Junk folders and search for it.  No luck, except one of those after a reply.

I don't have physical access to the phone as they are not interested in driving it to me, nor having me talk them through determining anything.  I expect this will never be resolved, but am curious if anyone has any issues similar to this that might shed some light on things.

We want to offer our customers the possibility to download their APN settings trough a browser.
Apple has a Configuration Utility, that works fine.

It seems to be an XML like binary, that includes the details of the APN settings.
When accessing this file in the default (Safari) browser, it asks if you wish to load the config. If so, it loads the APN settings into the phone.

Does Android offer the same option?

Cloud Class® Course: Microsoft Azure 2017

Azure has a changed a lot since it was originally introduce by adding new services and features. Do you know everything you need to about Azure? This course will teach you about the Azure App Service, monitoring and application insights, DevOps, and Team Services.

I set out trying to find an android app that would allow me to add a previously called number to sales prospects from my phone easily. I downloaded the Base app here https://support.getbase.com/hc/en-us?return_to=%2Fhc%2Frequests but it doesn't seem to do this.

I know Base has a large following and I think it has free features. Do I need a different product or can Base do this?

Assistance is greatly appreciated.

A microphone image is displayed crossed out during phone calls.
It works for Shazam (a recorded music identifying application) and in Google.
It doesn't work for camera video or  Voice recorder.
The phone is a Samsung Note 4

I am having trouble with the Bixby voice assistant. It was working fine until a recent update. Now I cannot get it to recognize my voice and when I use the Bixby button the Listening mode is so short I can't say anything before it gives me a message saying it could not hear what I am saying.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 (but soon to upgrade to Note 8). When I go travelling I always take with me my trusty Nikon D7100 digital SLR with 18-85mm lens. Smartphones can take great photos these days but are still lacking due to their lens.

Conversely, my Nikon camera, although a very good camera, is heavy, cumbersome, and I also need to bring the case and charger.

Further, I can't backup to cloud, edit, or share (email, Whatsapp) my pictures directly from the SLR camera. For this I'd need to bring a laptop with me, whereas with my phone I can do these three things from the phone. Also my phone can GPS-tag the photos, whilst to do this on my Nikon I'd need to buy a separate GPS unit to attach it to the camera, thereby making it even more cumbersome.

Viewing recently taken photos on a smartphone screen is much more pleasurable, not to mention the pinch-to-zoom. Also, my phone these days has more free storage space than my camera has in total.

So, to my question... Is there a way that I can have the best of both worlds? Does there exist some sort of 'cradle', where I can attach my current Nikon lenses, and a shoulder strap, and then just slot in the phone to turn it into a fully functional DSLR camera?

As for connection between the phone and the 'thing', I initially thought WiFi, but I think that this would cause a Osh with the viewfinder, so probably USB-C would be best. Plus, with a cable you could potentially or a battery inside the thing which could be used to charge …

We currently have MaaS360 and want to come away from that due to the limited functionality and lack of helpful features. We would require something that provides more control over the device. So that we can allow and restrict apps as necessary.

EDIT: We also push 3 apps currently and would require that feature as well. Something does a fairly good job at auditing the devices within the company.

I've create a vlan for smartphones in the office which has a limited bandwidth policy.

is there a way to have the system recognize smartphone and automatically connected them to the specific vlan   .

so even is someone tries to connect to a different vlan through the phone it will automatically redirected to the right vlan?

My mom is recently blind and currently SIRI can only open a few many apps but once those apps are open, you need to be visually capable to navigate them.

Ex:  You could ask SIRI to open Safari and do a search but then it only lists the search on the screen.  The touch/tap capability doesn't work after doing a voice search. And well touch/tap is very cumbersome in general -- even for me and I can see.

Ex. 2: My mom likes Pandora and SIRI will open Pandora, but again once in, it will not close the app by voice nor will it allow you to change stations or do a search.

SO... my question is...  is there an app -- possibly similar to VYSOR for Android -- that will allow an Iphone to be remote controlled completely by a PC.  My aim is to connect my mom's Iphone to a PC and not only mirror the screen (she cannot send screenshots anyway -- you have to be able to see to do that), not only open Apples basic features (like mail, photos, calendar) but where you can also fully open and navigate ALL apps like Pandora, BARD Audiobooks, Youtube or Netflix (she may not be able to see shows but she listens to them) from a PC.

If there's anything currently available or new applications in the works, please let me know.

Otherwise... we may have to bite the bullet and move to Android since it's phone and apps seem to be more ADA (american disabilities act) compliant.
