Say, I'm used to using the Audicity program in Windows https://www.audacityteam.org/ . I use very few of the features, just basic audio editing. Kindly recommend an app for Android that is similar in nature and perhaps, compatible. Thanks, Shaun

Got this screenshot in a great reply to a question.
encryption-is-where.png
It is from Android 9, Lite.  Going by the caption at the top of the screenshot screen "Encryption & credentials", seems like there's a setting in the OS called Encryption & credentials.

I'm using Android 9.  Not Lite.

For some reason, I can't find that same Encryption & credentials setting in Android 9.

What do you think is happening?

Many thanks,

MyPhoneExplorer 1.8.12 released      2019-06-17

They say:
Simply explore your Android phone !
Connect your phone via WiFi, cable or bluetooth and you'll be surprised how easy and efficient it will be to manage your phone with our software. Since it's first release MyPhoneExplorer evolved into the most popular freeware tool for smartphones. The software is constantly updated with new features.

Anyone have experience with this app?

My main question: in syncing data, does the transfer between android phone and PC get sent encrypted, or can anyone read it?

Thanks!

Have a new Samsung A7, Android 8.0.0 OS.

Can't see the option for encrypting the PHONE.

Have encrypted the SD card.

Have set up a PIN & fingerprint sensor unlock.

I recall there was an option to encrypt the phone - had one with my Sasumg J5.

But, can't find the option to encrypt anything beyond the SD card on this phone.

What am I doing wrong?

Many thanks!

I have a Galaxy Note 9 with Android Pie (version 9.0) installed and have an issue with it.

From time to time as most people do I listen to music on my phone with Bluetooth headset. I also have a Bluetooth receiver in the car for hands free calling when driving.

Those aren't an issue in themself, the issue is whenever the phone connects to the Bluetooth device in the car it automatically starts playing the music I was previously listening to. It only occurs with the car device because that automatically switches on with the car so automatically connects. I can even have been listening through USB speakers previously and it will still start automatically when connected to Bluetooth device.

It doesn't seem to start the App that I used (eg Google Play Music, TuneIn radio app or Amazon Music) but I get the play control notification ( << || >>) in the notifications area.

Its easy enough to get rid of, tap the pause and then swipe the notification away. That's if I notice it, it could be that I don't notice and it is potentially streaming music (TuneIn or Amazon Music) using my mobile data, not a massive data usage but shouldn't be happening.

Is there a setting in Android somewhere that I can change to stop music automatically playing whenever I reconnect to a Bluetooth device? Autoplay setting or something.

Thanks
Rob

Our Android phone keeps losing its messaging function. It will receive notices about Gmail, but if we're waiting for a notification to come in from say twitter, because we need a code to help us log in, that type of message isn't arriving.

We've fixed it a few times by going into apps, then messaging, and deleting the cache and storage, then rebooting. But it's a huge pain to have to do that, and it takes 15 minutes or more for that to work.

Anything we can do?

Say, My Android phone is backing up call log history to google drive. I can view the file under backups in Google Drive. How do I download this file and inspect it? I want to view the raw data.

Does Google keep older backups or each time over right them and if so is there a setting or way to keep a history of backup files?

Say, I have an android Black Berry Key one with Google Backups enabled. I'm after restoring a backup of my call logs from 5 months ago.
How do I go about this? tx Shaun

The user has moved into a new apartment.  They brought their Panasonic wireless home phone system, with a base station and two satellite phones with them.

They would like to just give everybody they know only their cell phone number.  They need an adapter that would transfer all the cell phone calls to their Panasonic system.  This way they have the convenience of the Panasonic stations, and don't have to carry around a cell phone all day.

What is a good unit that will do this?

Thanks

Hi Experts

Could you point what must to be checked/ configured to make Win 10 recognize again an Android smarttphone using USB?

I guess since the last Win 10 actualization it stopped recognize the smartphone. Amazingly a popup  rapidilly  appear/ disappear and the caracteristic sound occurs, but after that the celular drive doesn't appear at Win Explorer.

The celular's charge is occuring normaly.

Thanks in advance.

I have a 16GB per month plan from Verizon.  I got an email that said I can go to unlimited for 2 dollars more a month.  Is this legit?  Is there a catch that anyone knows of?  Here is a screenshot of the ad.

I have an earphone with a lightening port, I can use it with my iPhone.
However, I want to use it also on my other devices that only have a 3.5mm port.
Is there any adapter in the market for such purpose?

Looking to upgrade my wife's iPhone 6 to a 7 plus or 8 plus.  I generally buy used phones if they cost enough less than new.  Is this a good strategy?  Second question is if 8 plus is worth the extra cost. I looked over the specs and many of them are the same.  She enjoys her iPhone but she's not a power user.  Likes the idea of a larger screen mostly.  Also looking for any suggestions as to good places to buy a used phone.  We use Consumer Cellular which is AT&T.
Thanks,
Al

I would like to monitor my son's use of his Android phone. I do not wish to block anything. I would however like to receive reports of websites that he has visited, youtube videos that he has watched and other things that I haven't thought of. I would like to be able to install this on his phone without him being aware. Also, presumably it must also be possible to intercept traffic through our router and make some kind of record of that traffic. What is available? Obviously that doesn't help when he is not using the router, so I am interested in both approaches.
Thank you

I have 2 Galaxy Note4 : both of them tends to run out of battery
power pretty quickly (the one from Korea stays a bit longer)
despite that I replace with new batteries (merchant claims they're
original).

Then one colleague told me he faced the same issue (esp from
40-50%, it can suddenly go down to 0%) when running more
intensive apps like Waze GPS despite that he replaces the battery.

I then got this high mAH high capacity battery from Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/Lifespan-6980mAh-Extended-SM-N910A-Smartphone/dp/B07NL42B5Q/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=Note+4+battery&qid=1565667061&s=gateway&sr=8-3
It took longer to charge & last longer too (but at around 30-40%)
or when the phone is on standby over the night for 11 hours, it'll
just go flat the next morning (despite that it was initially at 90%+).
I did set the brightness to almost 0 overnight with "mobile data"
off (but Wifi is On at home) & the "task manager" shows only
Whatsapp & Messages  apps are running overnight.

Is this quick-draining of batteries an issue with the old phone (&
can this be tuned) or there's some apps that can be tuned/removed
to reduce the battery draining.

Or all the batteries I've got so far are not good (which I doubt)??

I have a Samsung J3 Phone with the message as follows:

An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software

Does anyone know how I get past this?

Cheers

Someone spoofing my number and calling another person with mortgage offerings and other services.
The area codes and prefixes of my number and other recepient's number are always the same.  Last four digits are always different.  Both numbers are with AT&T carrier in US.

Anyone had experience how to deal with it?
Any solution besides keep blocking them?  Can AT&T do something about it?

I have an LG G3 which has now become unstable even when restarted into safe mode. The process system is now crashing right away, having got progressively earlier in its crashing behaviour. Using a different battery had no effect. The phone is rooted. I run termux on it

I'm wondering if it might be time to start over and install say a Lineage image. The problem is that i'm as yet pretty ignorant about phones at the hardware and system land level. What are the best sources of information? Do you have any suggestions about fixes?

I have been investigating the flagship phones from the Chinese brands. Specifically looking at the Xiaomi Mi9T. I know it isn't quite as good as the 1plus offering, but wondering if anyone has any experience with these phones compared to the likes of other popular Android phones such as Samsung? The websites that compare performance seem to show they are fairly close.

FYI Only looking/comparing Android phones, not into iPhones.

Thanks!

I'm looking for a 64bit smartphone with removable battery & microSD slot.
Any Oppo models have this?

if none of the Oppo models have the 2 features, I can consider any other
models as long as the internal capacity is 64GB or more.
