we wound up with 2 kindles - 1 is the original and 1 is the HD.  We don't use either (my kids got ipads and like them better), but I think a) we won't get much for these kindles and b) kinda want to keep 1 to have as a spare device / surf the web / run some apps (inssider, etc.).

which is a 'truer' / less locked down device? which would you keep?  I don't need the HD screen - yeah we have a netflix account, so we could watch videos, etc.  but for the rare chance of using the kindle, we'll forgo the better screen if it's better to sell the HD.

Doesn't the HD have ads (we haven't turned it on in months)? that seems like a bother.
thanks!

Please provide me with a complete list of iPhone 5 internet tethering apps.

Does the blackberry OS10 devices use the blackberry network at all when using activesync i.e. local domain details?
or
is active sync completely independant from BDS?

Reason why i ask is that i cannot get my android device to work with activesync today.  But i managed to configure it last week no problems.
The online activesync test is working fine also...

Thanks

Hi all,

We have a client still running Exchange 2003 who has purchased a bunch of HTC Windows 8 phones.

Although the mail client will connect and send/recieve email, it won't download any attachments - it just reports "download incomplete" immediately on trying.

After reviewing the MS White papers for Windows Phone 7 and 8 it seems pretty clear that the download attachment feature is not supported with Phone 7 and Exchange 2003 and that 2003 sp2 isn't supported in any way under Windows Phone 8..!

All of that said, I was wondering if anyone had been able to get this working or had any ideas if it was possible to bodge/workaround/force!

Cheers

I am tying to figure out how to replace the top glass on the Samsung galaxy note and the Samsung galaxy note 2 and the videos are saying just purchase the top glass but how does the phone recognize the touch screen portion of it because there are no wires connected to the top glass. I know that with the iphones there are 2 wires, one for the lcd and one for the digitizer. If anyone has any ifo on how these devices work I would really appreciate it!

Take a look at the Voice Technology column in table below. (The full version of this table can be found here:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_wireless_communications_service_providers). If I opt to not buy a replacement phone through my carrier (Sprint) and instead buy a replacement phone through a third party vendor, what search terms should I use on the web, "Sprint" or "CDMA"?

Searching using the term "Sprint" seems prudent, but am I going to exclude a lot of functional options by narrowing my search to Sprint.
On the flip side, "CDMA" may be too broad. As I understand it, the Sprint network may not be compatible with a Verizon-compatible phone, even though both are CDMA.

I am a C# developer but new to cross-platform development. I need an Android version ASAP, and would be happy to also get a Windows and a Mac from Xamarin. But should I consider MonoCross instead?

I want max re-use of the code and would really love to get BlackBerry and Nokia.

What can you suggest?

Thanks!

Hello,

I'm wondering what kind of device is the one inside the red circle of each picture.
Is it an scanner device that works with a tocuhscreen? Or is it a device to print vouchers? However, I don't see that it works for credit cars.

Thanks

Is it possible to sync a Blackberry  Torch 9800 (messages, contacts and calendar) and Exchange 2010 over the air with a BES?  Is a third-party software required?

Using a Samsung Galaxy tablet trying to print to a HP Photosmart 5520.

The Samsung has AT&T cell service to connect to the internet.  The tablet sees the wifi printer in the listing of available networks.

When trying to print a message comes up that says "must print to a Samsung printer".  The third party print apps (and I've tried several, including HPs) will not print.

We have no internet and no local network. No router's are involved.  The setup is direct from tablet to wifi printer using the tablet wifi.

I'm wondering if the cell service is the way the tablet gets on the internet, and then the switch to wifi to see the printer is part of the problem

This is the first time I've tried this and it's all new to me.

Hi,

I am trying to use the Blackberry Enterprise 10.1.1

I am using an internal Active-Sync server fot activating some iPhones 5

I am trying to setup a iPhone using Secure Workspace.
The activation of the device works.
I can see all the mail folders of the user on the iPhone but there's nothing inside the folders

When I look at the Active Sync log (IIS6 MS Exchange 2003) I a lot of these entries (error 401 Unauthorized) for the same "items"

Otherwise there are some HTTP 200 meaning some of it can be accessed.
Mail folders inside the user mailbox are visible on the iPhone but empty.
Same thing for Contacts.  I see only the contact Groups.  Not the contacts themselves.

The setup for the Active Sync Profile works for the Blackberry Z10

Here's a sample of the IIS log

Here's a sample (IP, device ID and domain name has been replaced for dummy values)

The situation - we have a small group of Galaxy S4 users in our environment. Two of them are reporting that meetings that they are invited to periodically are removed from their calendar and are missing.

The issue appears to have started only when they purchased the Galaxy and added their Exchange account to it; it was not happening on their previous phone, a Galaxy Note.

We know that this sort of problem has been an ongoing one for iOS users and affects iOS versions prior to 6.1.3. Any word on if Android users are affected; we can confirm that in the user's delegation settings, they are set to receive meeting invitations and updates in addition to the delegate - this despite our IT team's warning to not do so as that can lead to known problems.

Looking for any experience with Android devices that have had similar issues and advice in general; Microsoft seems to imply that Android can experience such a problem but suggests we talk to the device maker to resolve.

This is a new one I haven't encontered before -

We are an Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2011 environment on Exchange 2010. The issue is - a meeting organizer sends out a meeting to about 40 attendees. Recurrence on the meeting is set to a specific date. After everyone has accepted the meeting, one or more of the attendees starts sending out multiple invitations to the meeting, sent to the existing attendees on the meeting; the invitations look like the attendee sending them is the meeting organizer, and they aren't.

It seems to happen in the background, the attendee doesn't appear to be doing it. We see sent items for these invites intermittently when it happens. Again, to emphasis this one point - the attendee is unaware this is happening; one of the other attendees will suddenly find themselves receiving 10 or 15 invites from another attendee on that meeting.

Looking for any suggestions - we think it has something to do with versions of iOS on iPhones/iPads those affected attendees are using but they all appear to be current on 6.1.4.

I have a Nokia Lumia 910 running Win Mobile 7.5  &  I would like to watch
movies on the TV

Q1:
Is there a micro USB to HDMI adaptor out there that can do this?
Pls provide amazon.com links to the products if any

Q2:
Short of the above solution, is there a micro USB to SVGA adaptor ?
The phone comes with a headphone (ie audio out ) port, so the sound
can be channelled to an external speaker
