A social networking service is a platform to build social networks or relations among people who share similar interests, activities, backgrounds or real-life connections. A social network service consists of a representation of each user (often a profile), his or her social links, and a variety of additional services such as career services. Social network sites are web-based services that allow individuals to create a public profile, create a list of users with whom to share connections, and view and cross the connections within the system. Social networking sites allow users to share ideas, pictures, posts, activities, events, and interests with people in their network. Other popular services include Google+, LinkedIn, Instagram, Reddit, Pinterest, Vine and Tumblr.

[Webinar] Improve your customer journey

A positive customer journey is important in attracting and retaining business. To improve this experience, you can use Google Maps APIs to increase checkout conversions, boost user engagement, and optimize order fulfillment. Learn how in this webinar presented by Dito.

Would facebook provide any evidence under any circumstances if copies of a users posts etc were required, and to whom would they release this information, e.g. only law enforcement?

Also if a user deleted a post - would FB be able to prove a post ever existed?

I am a software engineer and my personal Linked In page has hundreds of links, mostly to recruiters. They send me requests and I accept them sometimes.

But I have a couple of new topics where the power of Linked In may come in handy.

I have a business that has services which save merchants many thousands of dollars, and for which I intend to create a "sales funnel."

Can this be a distinct Linked-In page? How is it linked to my personal? The less, the better, I think.

Also, I have a book to launch, and hope to use whatever experience I gain on building a "sales funnel" for my business, would also apply for my launching my book.

It seems like I need two new Linked-In Pages. Or Profile?

How do they connect?

I have no problem with a large division, since I prefer that my book does not get in the way of business.

Thanks.

Does anyone else find it surprising and intriguing how protective and secretive Snapchat is, even when it comes to their own employees?

"The company has become so privacy-obsessed it blocks access to its own app at parties and events. At Snapchat’s NYC holiday party at the Beekman Hotel and its massive, $4 million New Year’s Eve blowout in Los Angeles, employees and guests had the cameras on their phones taped over."

Very good point about avoiding bad press. I was surprised because these days it seems to be the norm that app/social media companies highly encourage employees to use the product so they not only become internal experts but promote use of the product as brand evangelists.

Another fascinating part of that article mentioned how workers can't even speak to others about what they're working on.

Yeah that seems a bit drastic for that much secrecy.  But I know Apple just fired one of their engineers over something that was shared on social media.  https://www.theverge.com/2017/10/28/16565110/apple-engineer-iphone-x-youtube-video  Apple was making an example with that move for sure.

So, I mean, I get it, but it still does seem drastic to do with internal employees.

WHAT ARE THEY MAKING? ROCKETS?

Pppffffftttt

When I first got about 3,500 followers on Twitter, I got responses when I sent out something of interest. Today, I may get one Like.

It's politically charged...but I send out dud after dud, and it seems like wasted time.

I still have just as many followers.

What could it be?

Could Twitter have blocked my account? And be sending to a tiny fraction of my follower base?

LinkedIn blogging is great for networking, building up an audience, and expanding your influence as well. However, if you want to achieve these results, you need to work really hard to make your post worth liking and sharing. Here are 4 tips that can help you do so.

I personally feel that people should steer well clear of writing useful tips on "How to Write a Résumé" unless they are extremely well versed in what works and, of most importance, what does not work.  I think that the only people who are properly equipped to write such tips and articles are those who have a lot of experience in hiring staff for jobs and have therefore read or tried to read enough terrible, mediocre, and excellent résumés to be good judges of what grabbed their attention (good and bad).  Your linked page (How to Write a Good Resume - article on eliteessaywriters.com) demonstrates one of the pitfalls that becomes apparent when somebody tries to write an article on that subject, and the pitfall is trying to be too clever.

[A] Resume is not:
1. A summarization of the positions you held in the past

If I was the manager with the task of shortlisting applicants using their résumés and I saw the word "summarization" used in one, it would go straight into the "trying to be too clever" pile destined for the litter basket or shredder.  The word is either "summary" or "summation".  A conglomeration of the two words does not make a proper or better word because it has an "ize" in it.

There are already far too many "useful tips" articles about résumé writing floating around the Internet.  If the purpose of writing LinkedIn blogs is to "expand your influence", then I would suggest that unless you (LinkedIn member, not you personally) have already reached a level where you are expert on offering "Do and Don't" articles about how to succeed in job applications, then refrain from doing so.  The vast majority of LinkedIn members are there to find new or better jobs, and while sitting in that queue I do not think it is appropriate to try and provide tips to others in the same queue.  It equates to somebody on a modest income telling others how to get rich before managing to actually become rich.

I don't mean to sound scathing, but I feel quite strongly about this one aspect mentioned in your otherwise useful article.

The search for the perfect social sharing platform can make you feel a bit like Goldilocks. Some platforms deliver well in one area and fail in another. In this article, I evaluate three well-known social platforms—Buffer, CoSchedule, and Hootsuite—and compare and contrast offerings.

I am looking for a tool to track social media comments for multiple sites (FB, Twitter, etc.)
I want to be able to select the date range / URL link to the FB and Twitter Page(s) and be able to extract the date of post and comment.   Does anyone know of a free tool that provides this?   I have seen a few that provide a keyword search, but not for comments posted to specific URL links.  Thanks for any assistance.

Did you know there are services out there that can turn an Instagram feed into an RSS feed? I found some interesting exclusive Instagram content which I wanted to follow without signing up for yet another social media account. RSS to the rescue!

I am trying to organize a direct selling team, and hope to track down some tried and true selling techniques. But, in today's world, these must involve a discussion of cold calling, texting, using warm-leads, emailing, using Desktop Sharing, etc. (The CRM we use may be Pipeline)

I presume this is a space (Sales Training) that's cluttered with experts, so I hope to learn which ones should be used first and foremost on our list.

Suggestions?

Thanks

Thanks.

Although I've tweeted only once or twice, I've had a Twitter account for three or four years. About a year ago I started getting email notifications from Twitter containing a foreign language. I simply deleted them.

Today, for the first time in a long time, I decided I wanted to tweet. When I logged into my account, I couldn't help but notice an unfamiliar photo and an unrecognizable language adjacent to my Twitter login (see screenshot below).

twitter-1.png
Omitted from the screenshot is the fact that Twitter indicates my location as Saudi Arabia. I live in the United States.

The Twitter site recommends that I change my password, but I'm wondering whether that will be enough. It appears to me as though someone else and I are sharing  a Twitter login. I'm considering deleting my account, but I don't know how and I haven't figured out how to submit  a support request to Twitter.

I am new to social media and was just invited onto a platform called "Alignable." I joined but need to fill out my profile.

Please explain what it is and how large they are?

I like that I am in touch with the organizer, which I think could be helpful as I work towards a press launch of my book.

Please help put it into perspective for me. Is it a good network? Who do they compete with?

Thanks

Free Tool: Site Down Detector

Helpful to verify reports of your own downtime, or to double check a downed website you are trying to access.

One of a set of tools we are providing to everyone as a way of saying thank you for being a part of the community.

I lost a URL to a site where you could type the hashtag and find the number of followers.

This way I could see if #Harvey as bigger than #Harvey2017 or #HarveyHurricane.

Does anyone have that free service?

Thanks.

Is posting a message to my entire network as easy as clicking the pencil icon next to Messages, then creating a message with no recipients?

If not, how do I do this?

I do not have an account yet. Where do I sign up?

I also have an iPhone 7. Once I register, do I download the app and just log in?

I need to share my desktop for a presentation, so hopefully, WhatsApp supports screen sharing, like Skype. I have a Mac and want to present a Powerpoint Presentation running in Windows 7 on Parallels.

For this to work, can I install WhatsApp on my Mac? Then, load Parallels, Windows and Powerpoint?

Or, do I need to install WhatsApp on Windows?

Thsnks

That is interesting. It's always a shock to see the introduction of a new generation. So, now we've got Gen Z. Are hitting the Alphabet next? I'm what's known as a Tweener: 1960 - 1965. Because that Baby Boomer Generation went on far too long...

In a meeting some time back, a comment was thrown on the table that over 88% of companies in the US, with 100+ employees, are using social media.  We don't have any social media presences and are now considering it - we did started setting up just accounts for social media that was mention in that meeting (facebook, tweeter, linkedin, youtube, instagram, pinterest).

We understand this is a vast subject, and maybe complicated, but would greatly appreciated any EE that may have some experience in the topic, share their advice  in:

- what to consider prior.
- which social media get into first.
- how many should we set up in.
- doing this less monies possible (as a start).

Thank you in advance.
