Dear Experts
We have implemented CRM application( web based ).  our customer will login to this and this application for reports and analytics. our customer is in a different country hence they want the news/update on certain products that is in our country, they have asked to provide the solution for them. Our CRM developer says he can integrate certain news channels so that customer can login to CRM and see the news updates, As an IT security point of view I have asked which all websites but he is not sure at the moment which all websites will have to integrate ,
1.      I have informed them we may have to look for different solution instead of CRM application for this until technical approach or detailed tech specs are shared with me. However would like understand is it a right way, is the CRM application using for this is it as right tool
2.       instead should we have to develop a portal and store all the details and share the portal to them.
3.      As CRM has sensitive data integration with new sites will it be recommended , when it comes to integration please suggest the measures to be taken
4.      What solution we need to go for news capturing and store it and share it with customer please suggest .

Dear Experts

We have deployed customized business application which is developed using sugar crm and it is hosted on premises. The data that we store is confidential, we have challenges in achieving certain dashboards and understood from developers that they can deliver those but the server requires internet to fetch the javascript library from google server. The library is fetched on each page load and browser renders the chart. The URL from where the library is fetched is https://www.gstatic.com/charts/loader.js 
The chart we integrated with Sugar CRM only downloads a javascript library on each page loads and does not send any data to any server(According to Google). Please refer to this link: https://developers.google.com/chart/interactive/docs/gallery/combochart#data-policy
Please suggest If we go with this integration will our data is not exposed to google, we do not suspect google but as per our internal policy we should ensure the data is not exposed to external network, please suggest. Thanks in advance.

We have CRM which is web application on a LAMP stack deployed on premise, the external users can access this application via 2FA, the 2FA solution that we have used is Duo Security (where CRM application uses Duo Access gateway and Duo Access Gateway use Windows AD for authentication).
  As We could not achieve advanced Reporitng though CRM application hence we went for custom development using .NET.   This takes csv output from CRM and generates the expected reports.
 We have to integrate these 2 applications and based on feasibility between 2 application implementers understood in the CRM application they will provide link of .NET application when click on it, this will open up the new tab of the Reporitng server from here the reports are fetched. CRM login user and reporting system login user will be same they will use the tokens for each user but the .net implementer says static token once in few days this can be changed.

Suggestion /advice requested.

From IT point of view:  CRM server URL is published to public/internet but reporting server URL is not published for public/internet, in this case when external user access the CRM application via 2FA and then click on advanced reporting will it resolve the reporting server URL (for the external user who has already gained access of CRM application please suggest). I think it is not possible please suggest.
Please help me with best way to ensure the security and reporting server URL also accessible …

SugarCRM is running on a LAMP stack. When trying to save or update a record in the Cases module in SugarCRM Enterprise 8.0, I get the following error (attached):

We are having web based CRM application running on LAMP stack web server and data base servers are running two different server. Our software developers have decided to create indexes based on their analysis due to slow queries observations, the database server is mysql 5.4 version.
As it is production server the indexing will affect the work and also the tables size is huge and overall database size is 65GB. Please suggest the best practice, following is the approach can think about but again not sure if this is best recommended but there is a challenge as mentioned, please suggest on how such cases are handled.
1.Setup new webserver and mysql server with same config and same versions and take backup of production server database and import it to the new database server and create indexes and test, this process may take few days to week and by the time indexing gets completed which may take few days during this period production server database would have undergone changes as users are working on production instance, can you please suggest the best way to handle this.

We are using offfice 365 SMTP relay to send mails to the external users through the CRM application, i,e option 3 on the following URL
https://support.office.com/en-us/article/how-to-set-up-a-multifunction-device-or-application-to-send-email-using-office-365-69f58e99-c550-4274-ad18-c805d654b4c4 , this CRM system is allowed only to talk with <domain>.mail.protection.outlook.com on port 25 and 587 and rest of the access to the internet is blocked, not access for this CRM system to http/https to the external network.
1. we observed the CRM system workflow triggers the emails to the external network users only when the port 80 is opened for the CRM system at the gateway/firewall level,  we noticed the CRM system gets connected to internet and connects to crl.globalsign.com  and from here it is connecting to office365 smtp and emails are delivered.
2. when we disable access to external network i,e port 80 http blocked for CRM system at gateway/firewall then emails does not flow no packets flow found hence no mails are sent.
3. When only allowed CRM system can talk to crl.globalsign.com  then emails are getting triggered.
can you please help me understand how this office365 is working when it is configured to the CRM system. is it essential that CRM system to be allowed to talk to crl.globalsign.com . please suggest.

CRM system work flow triggers emails to the prospect email account as and when the prospect statues changes via the SMTP server ( without password that is without authentication as it is Relay server hosted locally-office 365 mail protection ). We could see the connection to the email server getting established but no packets sent/received , but through telnet we can send and receive mails by making use of from and to email commands through the telnet session, can you help where the things are going wrong. following SL2 cases it works but SL3 it does not work.
1. though telnet to the smtp server with FROM and TO commands it works that is mail is delivered to the TO addressed account.
2. though CRM system configure email settings with email account, smtp and port without the SMTP authentication mail is getting delivered to the To account.
3. CRM system through workflow trigger email on each status changes mail is not getting delivered instead we can see connection is ESTABLISHED to the smtp server

We have the application server ( CRM system web-based ) running on windows 2012 R2 which is deployed on premises behind the firewall. we have to configure CRM application to send mails to the customers through office365 email account hence network team has provided access only to smtp.office365.com and on port 587 and denied rest of the outbound or inbound access i,e no http or https access to this system.  
1. The CRM application is not able to send mails when the http/https is disabled for this system.   Through the CRM workflows we are able to send the mails out only when the http and https is allowed to this system at firewall .
2.  we are not able to convince the network team as they say we allowed outbound smtp.office365.com and 587 the issue would be at application side, they are asking explanation on why http/ https required,
can you please help me to understand on what all ports or access to be enabled at firewall for this system/server in additional to smtp.office365.com and port 587 in case of  INBOUND and OUTBOUND so that we can communicate to the network team please.

When he asked DocuSign how much the above electronic signature cost would be DocuSign said it would cost about $3 per contract, for a total of $15k/year

What other "Salesforce.com electronic signature" options do you recommend for the above volume that would cost a lot less since the only thing he wants is eSignatures, no other features ?

We have configure CRM application system running on windows server R2, configure the application for outbound and inbound in the email settings section of application  but mails are not getting delivered from CRM system to SMTP server , log report attached, from the OS level when done telnet able to communicate to the mail server, can you please suggest where we might be going wrong and help us to fix this.

I have setup 389 directory server and created the OU, group and added users to group now want to make sugarcrm users to authenticate from 389 directory server for which I understand in the sugar document following to be provided at sugarcrm side

They have mentioned as below in their how to configuration document but this is related to active directory but I am looking same values for 389 directory, please find the below
Bind Attribute : Enter "userPrincipalName"
Note: This is what is used for the Active Directory and is case sensitive.
Login Attribute : Enter "sAMAccountName"  
Note: This is what is used for the Active Directory and is case sensitive
Please help me understand what Bind Attribute to be entered instead of userPrincipalName and also what Login Attribute to be entered instead of sAMAccountName  when I am using 389 directory server OR is it same values to be used please help me in this. thanks

We are planning to implement two factor authentication (2FA)  the solution DUO Security for the on-premise web application for the users who access it from the internet, application we are using is SugarCRM enterprise runs on linux with the following components Apache2, Mysql, PHP7.1, java, elastix.  We are not having centralised management of passwords in windows Active Directory or ldap instead we are using SugarCRM application standard authentication, now to implement the two factor authentication Duo Security Prerequisites is that we deploy a SAML IdP(requires a SAML 2.0 Identity Provider ) and sugarcrm can be configured the accept the SAML, please help me understand on the following
1. what are the steps to be taken like who are the SAML service provider is it something similar like SSL certificate and install in SugarCRM or to setup a internal server and install and configure SAML please explain

2. Duo Security solutionPrerequisites from their website says: Before you deploy the Duo Network Gateway, make sure to complete these requirements.

We are having SugarCRM enterprise with good hardware very frequently users are getting httpd 500 server error this happens to all users at the same time, once restart the mysql server then works for some time like 30 mins to one hour approx and again the same issue httpd 500 server error just before this occurs very slow experience and then finally ends up with httpd 500 server error,  some times if users reload it works some times I have to restart the mysql service, I am running mysql 5.6.

I am considering a small mass emailing to promote my new book. But I do not have the technology yet to validate who has opened the email and who has not.

I once use MailGun and found that had a great technology for that kind of validation.

Does anyone have suggestions about what other things are important when validating the response rates from a mass mailing?

I need to track:
- conversion rate of a purchase, based upon the number who saw the email
- I need to know who saw the email so I could consider sending it a second time to those who did not see it the first time

What else?

What tools exist? Free is better.

I am considering Zoho because of its ability to trace whether the email was opened.

I understand there are two approaches to handle the duplicate records when same prospect enters the CRM application
approach 1) append duplicate prospect data to a single record approach 2) create duplicate record and mark it status as "Repeated/Duplicated"

approach1) if we go for append duplicate prospect data to a single record would it be possible to have a marketing analysis like current month how many leads entered into SugarCRM including the duplicate leads also would it be possible to understand prospect journey touch points through multi channel showing interest.
OR
approach2)same prospect entering through multiple channels setting duplicate records to “repeated” status would be the most straightforward to implement and link it with the original lead may provide the marketing analysis like current month how many leads entered into SugarCRM including the duplicate leads and from which all campaigns and source.
if we go for approach two then the manual operation can be applied with the same treatment that is if the already existing prospect makes enquiry to the call centre then call centre user applies the same treatment that is copy/create the existing lead and mark the status as "Repeated" and attach it to the respective campaigns
Please suggest which approach in the above is  recommended and best practice , thanks in advance

In Sugar CRM 7.8, I have a custom filter that requires a date.  The canned "today", "tomorrow", et cetera ranges work great but not in this instance.  Therefore, I am left with selecting a date, which is fine if you want to edit the filter each day.  Our users do not, so I had to create the filter via PHP and set date.  This works but apparently requires daily Quick Repair and Rebuild (QRR).

My question is, does anyone know if you can customize the JavaScript for the list view of modules?  Specifically Opportunities.
I have customized other views (e.g., record or create) via JavaScript by placing {view}.js file in custom\modules\{module}\clients\base\views\{view} no problem, so figure it would be as easy as custom\modules\Opportunities\clients\base\views\list\list.js but did not work.  I used extendsFrom:'RecordListView' if that is what was wrong.

If anyone successfully has done this, please let me know what I am missing otherwise I guess I'll have to stick with the PHP customization.

We are running rhel7 that is redhat enterprise linux 7.3 and our application sugarcrm requires php-imap but rhel7 does not support php-imap hence downloaded epel and tired to install I get below dependency issue
downloaded and install php56-php-imap from rpm finder below error,
rpm -Uvh php56-php-imap-5.6.31-1.el7.remi.x86_64.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
        php56-php-common(x86-64) = 5.6.31-1.el7.remi is needed by php56-php-imap-5.6.31-1.el7.remi.x86_64
[root@crm1 indar]#
should I have to disable rhel repo and depend on epel and install if yes can you please provide the steps for epel for rhel7

We are using sugarcrm application for marketing and sales force automation, we do many online and offline marketing activities like googe search, email campaign, facebook campaign, google display Ads and offline like hoardings, news paper etc, the challenge is the we have big list of online integration with sugarcrm.  At present we are handling , one of the example , if the search user in the internet clicks on the  Adwords that is of our campaign  and click on it then fill the form where the form code will have UTM Source as Google and when form is filled and submitted it pushes the lead to sugarcrm and at sugarcrm side based on the UTM Source = Google then Lead Source is Web-Google. please find the attached list, day by day such list is growing and some times the digital agency does not exactly place the keyword as per the Sugar mapping hence lead source becomes Blank.  also report source columns are too big . Please suggest the best practice for the lead source and UTM source. thanks in advance.

I am using sales force automation sugarcrm and we are evaluating the CTI integration either the complete cloud telephony or hybrid, one of the service provider has this hybrid where they do not charge for inbound and outbound call per minute unlike the complete cloud telephony instead they will host their server may be PBX and that is connected to their data center but application will used is of their platform, and calls will be routed to us directly from telco both the inbound and outbound unlike the complete cloud where calls are routed from their data centre.
please suggest the best solution to go for, pros and cons please. thanks in advance.

I am we are using SugarCRM for sales force automation though the server hardware is with good config still the performance is low, slow loading while login and as well listing the leads and fetching reports takes more time, we have around 150 users and we are using sugar enterprise. not really sure should I have to host database server i,e mysql in a separate instance , this application is running on redhat enterprise linux with httpd2.4, mysql5.6 and php56,
PHP modules and settings were able to install all but could not mange mcrypt as it was not supported by redhat, also could not install libsodium extension however without these two i,e mcrypt and libsodium still instance is found to be working not sure if the performance issue that is load time is consuimg more is due to this , the perfromance is slow within the same network in my lan where sugarcrm is hosted . please suggest how to resolve this. thanks
