Looking for a freeware screenshot capture program for W7 / W10 to:
  • Capture entire screen upon Print Screen button
  • Automatically Prompt the user for a comment, such that they don't have to bring up an image editing program in a UI
  • Then save to disk (jpg, png, etc.)  upon completion of the comment.

I'm attempting to collect feedback from a large number of employees about issues they have with a particular program.
All the machines are cloned and set up identically.
I anticipate writing some light code to then FTP (or maybe programatically email) the file once created.

The old ScreenPrint32 did the comment capture part perfectly for prints (but wouldn't capture this for saved files).  It just popped up a fill in the blank box upon the trigger (Prt Scr button) and as soon as the user hit the OK button on the comments, everything was done.  No more interaction.  Unfortunately, ScreenPrint32 is a little flaky under W10 even when run in compatibility mode for XP sp2.

Something like Greenshot (my fav) saves it nicely, but you have to interact with an image editing program to add a comment.  No bueno.
Thanks.

Exploring SharePoint 2016

Explore SharePoint 2016, the web-based, collaborative platform that integrates with Microsoft Office to provide intranets, secure document management, and collaboration so you can develop your online and offline capabilities.

I need a program or utility (free preferrably, paid if it's easy to setup and use) that will print PDFs automatically.

Every night, a client receives dozens to hundreds of PDFs via SFTP from one of their clients.  These documents need to be printed (unfortunately).  They want a system that can either be scripted or set to check folders (and sub folders) for new files and print them automatically throughout the night.

I've done some research and found an AutoIT compiled script but it doesn't work well because some of these pages are being (incorrectly) identified as 8.5x13 when the utility attempts to print them (printing them with Acrobat (and reviewing the print options) indicates they are 8.5x11).  And of course, when the page size changes, the job hangs and stops all other jobs until you fix it...

So I need something that can do this intelligently... shrink the page to fit, ignore the page size and just print to whatever paper is present (cutting off excess - which will almost never actually happen), etc.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm willing to script a utility that WORKS so it doesn't have to do everything... but if someone has a product designed to monitor (a) folder(s) and print the contents, including PDFs, that's great too.

I don't think I can use Acrobat because it wants to leave the program open after printing... 900 instances of acrobat would be a problem in the morning...

And using a script to subsequently kill acrobat isn't practical... …

Hi Guys,

We are trying to set up a Graylog platform with Incapsula.
The server was downloading the logs just fine, But then we found an error message in our server log.

2018-03-20 21:59:09,298 INFO LogsDownloader initializing is done
2018-03-20 21:59:11,084 ERROR Could not find file https://logs1.incapsula.com/*******/***_520.log. Response code is 404
2018-03-20 21:59:11,085 INFO Sleeping for 20 seconds until next file download retry number 1 out of 3

We checked the https://logs1.incapsula.com/*******/logs.index and the oldest log files are:

***_2278.log
***_2279.log
***_2280.log
***_2281.log
***_2282.log
***_2283.log

Do you know how can we restart the process counter?

It seems like the process is stacked in the log file number ***_520

On the other hand, we downloaded and added the content pack from Incapsula into our Graylog platform, but no dashboard or inputs were added.

Please let us know if you have some kind of recommendations or instructions.

I have a macro express pro app that I want to keep running in the background when my computer is on. For some reason, it stops functioning and terminates. But I don't know that until I go to call it up and I have to restart it. Also, it supposed to run at startup, but maybe windows doesn't like it, so it does not start with the other apps at startup. How do I use the task scheduler to make sure it starts at startup and also to check that it is running and if it is not running to relaunch it. the default path to the app is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Macro Express Pro\MacExp.exe" default directory is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Macro Express Pro"

I know this is a very specific question but figured there might be somebody out there that may know the answer to this so here it goes.  We use labtech to support our clients we use michael priest ninite plugin with ninite pro to keep everything as far as free programs and some paid programs up to date.  We also use trend micro worry free security at these clients.  Now one thing we do is use the url blocking in the trend micro.  The problem we are having is if I run ninite on a computer that is not using more than just the defaults that trend micro blocks then it runs fine.  When I run ninite on a computer that we have set url blocking up on then it will mess up.  I have talked to ninite and there suggestion is to use the offline file and make our own scripts in labtech.  which mind you we pay for ninite monthly and we pay for michael priest plugin for labtech so that is not an option.  They told me 2 urls that the software goes to in the beginning but then they said that it goes to a large number of other mirrors and sites after that and they cannot list them all.  Trend micro will not help because they say trend is working fine and labtech will not help because they will say it is working fine you need to get with trend micro.  So I am hoping that someone has an answer

I am a network engineer who has been tasked with rolling out a backup service for our Salesforce account and have been looking at three vendors with the assistance of our (non-IT) salesforce administrator.  This is a system that he will administer; I'm just involved to do the due diligence.

His preference is Spanning, although he also likes Backupify.  Between the two, he's stated that he'd be completely okay with either product.  We've also looked at OwnBackup.  Our salesforce admin says he could certainly "live with" OwnBackup and I shouldn't refrain from choosing them if I thought they were better, but he likes the other two better.

The sales reps from all three vendors have stated that their product is the only one that will restore all data (including metadata, related records, etc.), and that using one of the others may potentially result in significant disruption to our environment in the event of a problem.

For my part, I am only concerned with three things.  First, we need an indefinite retention period.  My team isn't yet certain what our legal requirements will be in that regard (the company is expanding rapidly, and adding offices nationwide), and we'd prefer to not have to worry about it.  Second, we want to ensure that any data transmission is encrypted (obviously).  Third, we want to ensure that any restoration actually works.  Normally, I wouldn't bother saying that third point as it would seem obvious, but each of these vendors is saying that this is not …

Looking for a solution (cheap) to count inventory the fastest way possible.  Currently we have no scan guns or wifi in the warehouse.  We house at least 100,000 items.  What I would like is a scan gun that I can load an excel worksheet that has columns for our Item# (Barcode data), Description, Qty and fill ins for bin locations so pickers can scan what's there and it will save to the spreadsheet in the gun.  Added feature would be a fill in line for bin location so future picking would be easier for our pickers.

I can then download the spreadsheet and reconcile with our QB inventory.

Any advice Experts?

I have a Java Soap Client that send some xml files to a remote server to be processed.

It uses java 1.7's java.nio.file.WatchEvent<Path> (almost just like it's explained here) to monitor new files added to a directory.

It is processing about 2 or 3 files per minute.

Looking for a way to increase the speed of files sent and processed I decided to start the same jar twice, monitoring different directories of course.

I can't explain why both processes are still processing about 2 or 3 files per minute. I doubt the problem is in the remote server, since I have a log showing the moment when each file begins and ends it's processing, and it shows almost the same behavior when using only one linux process than when using two.

I mean the total throughput is the same when using only one linux process than when using two.

The size of the xml's are almost always about 8KB.

I'm guessing there should be a bottleneck somewhere other than CPU.

Any suggestions on what tool or tools should I use to find it and how to use them? (Remember, it's a Java application)

I would prefer to use free or openSource tools, but I could consider using a paid one.

Thanks

I have an application that uses IE to run.  Currently we are getting occasional error messages popping up when we try to pull files from the db to the client pc.

Error message:
Sys.webform page request manager software error exception. An unknown error occurred when processing the request on the server.  The status code returned from the server was: 12002

I am desperate to fix this as it is currently costing my company business.  I have attached a Wireshark file from the end users pc that we ran.  We got lucky because we had this error happen several times during the capture.  If someone could give me a clue as to what they see I would be greatful.

I'm having a problem recording audio with my microphone. I know my microphone works (tested on different computer) but my computer refuses to record any audio. When I try to adjust the volume for my microphone in the "Recording Control" window, (from double clicking on the silver speaker in the system trey and clicking options -> properties and dotting recording) all the volume sliders are grayed out except the master recording volume. My mic volume is not muted. I have installed latest realtek drivers. When looking in Realtek's Audio Manager and under the mixer tab, the recording sliders are not editable there either. Searching google for other solutions have hinted that the rear pink input in the playback section must be un-muted and turned all the way up. I did this but still have no recording at all. I have also looked for any bios fixes and it doesn't look like gigabyte has any updates for their onboard audio recording. I have also bought and installed a cheap sound card (i Dot Connect 4 channel pci sound card) to see if the microphone would work with that. Unfortunately, the same problem persists. I even disabled onboard audio from the bios to see if just the sounds card alone would do the trick but with no avail. (Also, The card's audio output is working fine.) I now have my realtek audio drivers reinstalled with onboard audio re-enabled. Everything seems to be working fine except I can't record a thing. Any ideas?

I am with a school and bought 40 new HP ProDesk400 G1 MicroTower computers. Can not get HP to help. They have Windows 64 professional that we want to upgrade to 10. Take them out of the box they directly go to windows to setup. You are supposed to just hit F10 and go into BIOS. We have tried 30 machines. We can not get any of them to go. When you continue to hit F10 it looks it up and gives a black screen like it is in suspend mode. You see the hard drive lights blinking. I have tried every function key. Exc key del key. I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM. Please help. One of HP's comments were to send us a new system board. Well we unpacked 30 of them. I really think if I could get into BIOS I could solve this.  Also bought memory to push it to 16 mg. It give one long beep when you put another stick of matching memory in the 2nd slot. Again, can't see what is going on. PLEASE HELP.

as above I get a pop up error message that sofkey.npl can't be completed or loaded; I went to the command center and did a system file scan and there were no integrity violations. should I be worried, what would be my next step to correct this?
