A tablet computer is a mobile computer with a touchscreen display, circuitry, and battery in a single device. Tablets come equipped with sensors, including cameras, a microphone, and an accelerometer, and the touchscreen display uses the recognition of finger or stylus gestures replacing the usage of the mouse and keyboard. They usually feature on-screen, pop-up virtual keyboards for typing. Tablets may include physical buttons for basic features such as speaker volume and power, and ports for network communications and battery charging. Tablets are typically larger than smartphones or personal digital assistants.

It amazes me that my toddler nephew is already a YouTube wiz. He remembers which videos are his favorites and knows how to close/skip ads. He even knows which videos are "inapoopiate" and avoids them. Although he'd rather watch kids play with toys than play with his own, I admire that he's already become this tech-savvy. What do you think about kids being exposed to technology at a such a young age?

Yup! It's all about balance and of course what they're actually doing on the device itself. I'm loving all these programming toys that have been coming out lately.

I think it is good that kids are learning how to use technology. However, I think there should be a balance where the kid learns to use technology as a tool, learns social skills, and spends most of his/her time being active.

I don't think technology is bad. The problem is that even WE as an adults don't even know how to use it properly.

Apple's iPad Pro and Microsoft's Surface Pro aren't supposed to be competitors in my eyes, but Consumer Reports (CR) sees it a bit differently.

If you would like my take on it, the Surface Pro is just a smaller laptop that has tablet functionality. While the iPad Pro is a tablet that has laptop functionality but only depending on what apps you have. Meaning that you can use the iPad Pro for strictly playing games from the App Store, or you can turn it into a laptop replacement and use it to knock out those daily business chores.

All in all, we should all agree that we like what we like. If you're an MS fan, I'm sorry you got dinged like this, but if you're an Apple fan know that the iPad Pro can be a laptop replacement if you choose to use it that way. Oh, and don't go laughing at your MS buddies because CR smacked them on the hand. What goes around comes around, and we should all just respect that we have different taste and love to drive the machine of our choice.

Take care everyone.

Justin, the one that caught my attention is facetime. ugh! the only people you can connect with are other Apple devices. And I wasn't talking about using my Surface to manage SharePoint, I was talking about being able to see/use SharePoint and OneDrive from within Word, PowerPoint, Excel. The cloud storage is treated just like any other folder on my computer.

And I'm jealous of the vette.

BTW, Justin... what you said about going to your Mac to get some stuff done? That. What if you could squeeze your Mac into your iPad? That's why Surface is not like an iPad.

That's awesome!  I've never owned a tablet, but I might have to get one if they can do stuff like that soon.

Yeah ever since the Surface Pro Microsoft has been my preferred tablet OS. They do lots of nice little improvements like this.

What are your thoughts on the Surface Pro series? I don't like the single USB port and find the included stylus a waste of time. Performance-wise they are pretty quick but with my work, we've had a few that needed to be blown away already. I've run into issues where it won't recognize the keyboard, etc. When everything works great, they are pretty cool, though.

Jackie you're thinking of the Surface Laptop, not the Surface Pro

But for the customers, Surface Laptop is the latest product for Surface product line offering and it is my impression that MS has already stopped the research and development of Surface Pro as there is no Surface Pro 5.

Huh... Samsung made an infographic to share what they figured out about the Galaxy Note 7 battery problems. Pretty interesting way to present a root cause analysis to the public.

Agreed! I think it can help restore some of the lost confidence in them as a result of the whole mess.

Plus, it's just kind of neat seeing how such a tiny thing can cause such a massive problem. Most people really have no concept of how complex all this stuff is...

Give an explanation to the consumer with no doubt is always important, to find the best way to do is what will make the difference .
