Hi, I’m sure many of you are probably sick of answering this question, so apologies in advance.

I’ve been following (not trading) BitCoin for the last year. A few friends etc have invested in it, etc.

I have a few questions:

01 - I know this is hard to call, but I’m sure I’m too late to the BitCoin game, BUT are all crypto currencies the same in this regard or are some only worth very small now but could potentially explode like BitCoin?

02 - How do different things influence different crypto currencies, or are they all influenced by the same thing?

Suggest you consider asking these questions instead of putting these as post. Thanks.

I am trying hard to find a way to automate some calculations on a credit card merchant statement. But I must be 100% within the letter and the intent of the rules which define PCI compliance.

Writing a Java app to run on all platforms was a great suggestion to "pre-process" the data, redacting private data, before upload to my site for further processing. But, I wonder, why not do ALL the processing via a downloadable Java App?

Is that a guarantee that I am 100% PCI compliant?

The problem will be when it fails a user and they need it debugged...I would need that PDF file sent to me for debugging. BUT, isn't that a much safer route to take than putting it on a website?

I would certainly have a high security bar to maintain regarding how I handle my PC, and maybe the methodology I use when choosing a password for that email account. But NOT having a website where any Credit Card info resides seems like a smarter way to go.

So, I am now imaging a simple website, probably WordPress. I would post a current version of the Java App for download and explanation of what it does, etc.

Users could download it and privately process their merchant account report on their own PC's. In the LIKELY event they have an unsupported report format, they could email me their full report. (Redacting private data from a PDF itself seems like a pretty high bar for users to handle)

On receipt of the PDF, I would redact all private data for that statement, and delete all un-redacted…

Our business owner needs to upgrade his Quickbooks Enterprise Edition but is not willing to purchase a subscription. How long has Enterprise Edition been subscription only?  If we can find a stand-alone 2015 or 2016 version, that will work for our needs.

I had some dual pane windows installed on my balcony that have improved my home's energy efficiency during both the winter and the summer. Now I don't need to heat my home as much during the winter or cool my house as much during the summer.

This installation and materials cost $3,100.

I have been told that I might be eligible to write this cost off in my taxes or to gain a tax credit of around $250.00.

How can I go about claiming this tax credit or deduction?

Hi,
I have a client that recently upgraded their Sage 300 to 2018. When they look up an order using Current Orders Inquiry, they can select a customer and order, bring up the order, but when they go to close the "container" the system hangs with  the a4wcontainerxp.exe process stuck. They can open other windows and do some other functions, but eventually those will also fail.
They are opening Sage to "run as Administrator". It happens on all of the workstations as well as on the server. They are running the program on the server, which is up to date and has plenty of horsepower.
I have tested disabling anti-virus- no change.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Are there any websites available where I can enter the VIN number for a vehicle I am interested in purchasing to determine if there are any active loans or liens against that vehicle?

I am in the market to buy a used car and would like to be able to have the piece of mind of knowing that a vehicle has been completely paid off and has no loans before I purchase it from an individual.

Someone has offered to sell me a used vehicle using eBbay motors.

This person is out of state and says that the car will be shipped at no cost to me in California and that I will them have 5 days to evaluate the vehicle and return if it I so choose.

I am going to be getting an invoice emailed to me within the next few days and the vehicle will then be shipped to me.

However, in the meantime I would like to do further research.

This vehicle will be shipped 1500 miles to me. In order for me to purchase it it will need to pass the California smog check so it can be registered to me.

I will also be taking this car to my mechanic to have it checked out to make sure everything is OK with it.

If there are any problems like it can't pass smog, needs to have repairs done so it will pass smog, or if my mechanic finds any issues with it I need to be sure I will be getting most of my money back from eBay motors if I choose to return this vehicle.

Please provide me with the URL address that explains eBay motors' policy for these things.

Hi
Every one of the last 3 or 4 credit cards I've had, I've had to close due to fraud and purchases I didn't make.
I think the first few test to see if I notice, and then they don't hold back.
I was lucky that today, I decided to see if anything suspect was occurring.
I got billed by the Freedom Road Socialist Organization. !

How are they breaking me?

I strongly suspect Uber of being massively hackable, I use them almost every day.
Thanks

Now that the Intuit Turbo tax software has been released I'm looking to purchase the software now so I can get a better idea of how much I will owe in taxes for this year especially since I am currently working on a 1099 basis and haven't had any tax deductions made since July of this year.

My income taxes for the United States and California are from two employers, one of which I was paid using a W2 basis and the other one in which I am being paid using a 1099 basis.

I own my home and understand that technically I am considered to be self employed and as such want to get as many deductions as possible from my home mortgage interest, from improvements made to my home/home business, from my vehicle which I use to travel to my customer site, and from anything else I have spent on my business.

Normally I would file my taxes online at https://turbotax.intuit.com/ but Turbo Tax support has told me that returns for this year will not be able to be started on this website until the second week of January 2018. I need to get an idea now of how much I will owe in taxes based upon what I have already earned and what I am projected to earn for the rest of this year.

So will it be best for me to purchase Turbo Tax Basic, Turbo Tax Deluxe, or Turbo Tax Home & Business so I can claim the most deductions and credits?

I have tried everything i know and i can not get quicken 2017 home and business to install.  When it comes to the installing netframe 4.6.1 page (also on that page is install quicken 2017 and update quicken 2017) it hangs up.  hard to know what it is hung up on because the check boxes do not visually get advanced or checked.   I have manually gone to microsoft and installed 4.6.1 and 4.6.2 and on the progess bar it always hangs at the same spot.  I have tried runing as adminstrator and i have looked to delete what has already been installed but do not find where that has landed.  I do not see it in the x86 folder. i am running the latest version of Windows 10 64bit.
Any suggestions.  Thanks

What are some websites I can visit where I can calculate the differences in monthly interested paid and total interest paid on a 30 year mortgage of $220,000 with either a 4.25% or a 3.625% interest rate?

I have other similar scenarios I would like to calculate.

Can the main Sage 50 company file be backed up from client PCs as opposed to logging into the server?

Reason: server being decomissioned and one last backup is needed so it can be transferred to new server (Win 10 Pro)

I have read on the http://ficoscore.com/education/ website that "Between all three bureaus, there are 19 FICO® Scores that are most commonly used by lenders. The score version that matters most to you depends on the type of loan you’re interested in and where your lender pulls your scores. You can use the chart below as a guideline."

Are there any websites I can visit that will provide me with all of my current 19 FICO® Scores?

The websites I currently visit like Bofa.com, discover.com, and the credit bureau websites provide only one version of the Fico credit scores and I'm interested in seeing what my current 19 FICO® credit scores are.

What websites or services will allow me to do this?

HI Experts,

I have been using QB Desktop 2012 until recently, but noticed that I could not open my previous HST filings. I thought that this was because of the  old version of QB and I am running Windows 10, so I decided to migrate to QBO.

QBO's view is more extended and I see that all of the HST periods (from and to) are off. I file quarterly, but see that I have periods sometimes for 1 month. Actually as I was filing using QB for desktop I always printed my summary, and the periods on the printouts all are correct.

I have chatted many times with Intuit, but the issue does not seems to be resolved.  Now in QBO when I click "View Summary" for any period listed, I see my header, but nothing else. No line numbers, no amounts, just blank report.

One rep told me that I need to request for my HST periods to be reopened, which I did, then refile withing QBO.  When I go to refile, starting with my very first periods, only my Sales (line 101) is correct, and everything else is $0.00 - probably because everything is paid.

I am now thinking that my QB file was corrupted from my desktop version, but any idea how to fix this? Who can I contact?

As a developer - And, I don't want to do this, but is it possible to get backend access through API or even SQL and maybe adjust the periods manually - maybe that will fix everything? Or is there another versions of QB that I can run that will give me SQL access?

Or am I pretty much in trouble and need to open a new company …

Is it possible to deduct COBRA payments from a US tax return?

About 18 months ago I researched the difference between the online version and the desktop versions of QuickBooks.

It became apparent that the online version is a very scaled down subset of the desktop product,

I am wonder has there been any chance since?

I have a customer who has a really old version of QB , I think 2006, he is buying a new Laptop, latest version of MS Office, etc,  I thought that the online version might suit him as he spends a lot of time out off the office as he is a small builder. He spends a day in the office per week, the rest of the time he is on site managing small construction jobs, it might be useful for him to be able to access his QB quotes, ices, etc. Or to generate invoices while off site.

Nore, he is based in Ireland, and ideally the Onlive version would work for local taxes (Revenue, VAT, etc.)

Thanks,
Robbie

I have a potential customer that is looking to expand -they are currently using Sage 50 Quantum Accounting on one system - if they wanted to go to a multi-user, what options are available?  One search I saw was that you could either have 1 user or would have to jump to 5 users, is this correct?

Hi guys

My program includes a simple query on Sage 50 via ODBC, something I've programmed hundreds of times before. The Sage data tables are on a network drive. On this particular client's PC (Windows 7, 64 bit), the query ran perfectly every time when run manually, but threw the following errors when scheduled:

ERROR [08001] Cannot find all files in data path
ERROR [01000] The driver returned invalid (or failed to return) SQL_DRIVER_ODBC_VER: 23.1
ERROR [IM006] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed
ERROR [01000] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] The driver doesn't support the version of ODBC behavior that the application requested (see SQLSetEnvAttr).

I checked all the DSNs, drivers and registry and everything seemed OK. I did a search and the only relevant post was one here by RogerMoquin:

Problem with ODBC connection when run from a scheduled task

His solution was to insert a two minute delay, though I think his issue was with login.  In my case the program runs long after login. Using his idea, however, I found one solution was to set the program to try to connect, then each time an error exception is raised, it waits two minutes. After 3 tries it consistently connects. (Please note that I changed to a DSN-less connection string, but it still uses the 3 tries).

What are the tax implications for being paid on a 1099 (All Inclusive) basis?

Does this mean that I as the employee will have to pay both my share as well as the employer's share of the social security tax?

Are there any other additional or higher taxes that have to be paid by me while being paid on a 1099 basis as opposed to a W2 basis?
