Running Thunderbird 52.8.0 (32 bit) with the mail supply from Office 365.

Two issues:

1. I have a series of Grey folders - almost all are empty. If I delete them they disappear then reappear???
2. I have created some new folders in Outlook that don't appear when viewed form Thunderbird.

I would prefer to use Thunderbird as my front end.

Cloud Class® Course: MCSA MCSE Windows Server 2012

This course teaches how to install and configure Windows Server 2012 R2.  It is the first step on your path to becoming a Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).

I have a customer who works for a company that changed servers for e-mail.   I downloaded his folders of "sent", "saved e-mails", "drafts".   The downloaded as Zipped files.   I am trying to import them into Thunderbird, but it seems they need to be  ".EML " files to be able to import into Thunderbird.   Any idea how I would go from a zipped file to import into Thunderbird?

I am running Exchange 2013 with an Edge server in a production environment as 2 separate VM's.(CAS & Mailbox Server Combined / Edge Seperate)  Both Exchange and Edge are versions 15.00.0847.032
The first issue I am trying to solve is to get IMAP4 and POP3 working with this server. When I try to connect via Thunderbird I get the message "Thunderbird failed to find the settings for your email account". When I run the command Get-ReceiveConnector "*\Client Frontend*" command under bindings I get: {[::]:587, 0.0.0.0:587} Enabled is True

Outlook / auto discover appears to work fine, the problem is trying to use 3rd party clients IMAP4 and Pop3 protocols.

Do I need to edit my receive/send connectors to show the IP/FDQN somehow?
Thank You in advance for any help offered.

I have some blockage on my iCloud email

I do not understand why, but certain emails do not show up on my iCloud account.

I logged into iCloud.com and saw no error or sign it was  not working. But I do know that certain emails have been lost. Such as, my WordPress site has an outbound email with a PDF attached. I pulled my hair out with the email not showing up until I used my trusty GMail.

Other things I fear are also blocked.

In my ThunderBird (Mac) for the iCloud email, there is no SPAM folder. So, perhaps it is being flagged somewhere as SPAM, but not visible either on ThunderBird or online at iCloud.com

Suggestions?

Thanks

How to make signature that will look the same on different email-clients? We use outlook 2010, 2013 and 2016 and mozzila thunderbird. I have tested with thunderbird and Outlook 2016 and have big problems, from display of color to different looking text.   What I found is when I send a colored line (orange) the other email client changes it to gray + when mail is sent from thunderbird formating is gone.. So how to proceed here? I made signature in word 2016 then copy it to outlook and  for thunderbird I tried to open it as .htm file or copy paste the signature from outlook and then inside new mail use save, file and then as html and then choose it as signature.

So any options what should I use do?  I even tryed to use signature as picture but is not a preferable way.

My final goal is to have a signature that will work with all email clients and will be easilly editable for every employee.

Thanks

Questions about Thunderbird (Mac)

Can I Collapse All email accounts? I do this manually, and hate all the clicking...

Also, can I re-arrange the Email accounts?

I do not want to Delete them all, then need to recreate them all, then find I have a New Email account and need to do it all over again.

I want them grouped in some fashion.

Thanks

Helping my brothers who are very low tech.

They have their own domain. Hosted at a shared hosting company. They check / send their mail ONLY from the webmail of the hosting company.

They are moving the website to another shared hosting company (and setting up email at that new company also I would think).  They are asking me about getting / saving all the the old emails on the first hosting company.

I know I could use my outlook, set up a POP account and download the inbox for each account.  But other folders?  Sent?

Maybe I'm not much more techy than them - should I really set up outlook for IMAP?  then I can export ALL the folders into a PST?

Next issue - they don't use / have  outlook. Can that PST of inbox / sent / etc be pushed up to the new server? (set up imap to the new server, and drag /drop emails from the PST into the IMAP appropriate folders?

If that won't work, then what would you recommend for someone that is using just the webmail of the hosting company but want to see the old emails once in a while?  Thunderbird for the old emails?

Thanks!

My partner runs thunderbird v52.7.0 and he keeps getting an error: "A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete. Script: chrome://global/content/bindings/browser.xml:237"

He doesn't have chrome installed. How can I troubleshoot this? Thanks!

Does Thunderbird know about Two Step Authentication?

I use Does Thunderbird but feel it has a bug with Two Step Authentication. iCloud and Zoho are easy to configure for Two Step Authentication, and both work. Then, for some unknown reason, both have failed.

Do I need a different client?

I really hate needing to log onto my web clients...I have so many email accounts.

Thanks.

Why does a signature need to be hosted?

I have an image of my business card I configured as a signature image with Thunderbird.

I send out emails to my other email accounts, and the image shows up fine. So, what is the reason I need to host the image?

I guess if someone has images blocked, they will not see it. So in that case, would they need to click a URL in order to see the image?

If so, I imagine this enables the recipient to select which image to view versus viewing them all?

I am trying to understand the value of hosting my signature image.

Please let me know.

Thanks.

Greetings wise wizards of EE:

I'm helping a friend with a Windows 7 laptop in which she uses Mozilla Thunderbird for her e-mail application. Roughly two weeks ago, Thunderbird started producing odd characters within her outgoing e-mail, though these messages appear find to her. Here is a sample:

<<I'm still getting responses from folks with a few of those weird signs.See below. When I check the default text they are both Western ISO. Any other ideas as to what to do?>>

I Googled this dilemma, and the general answer was to adjust the font settings as follow:

Open Thunderbird
Tools|Options|Display|Formatting
Under Fonts & Colours, click on Advanced.
At the bottom of the next window, under "Text Encoding" you can select the default encoding. Here you can choose "Unicode (UTF-8)".

This encoding was already the default... we tried switching to "Western", and this worked for a few days, but the problem re-appeared.

I am grateful for any help with this annoying issue.

Many thanks in advance,

Zovoth

MBOX to PST
Check out the easy way to Export Thunderbird to MS Outlook. It can be done effectively by using manual method and if you are not much into coding then you can definitely try the third party tool for the conversion.

The above article is truly helpful. Thanks for sharing. Before purchasing any paid tool, users can try an easy manual trick shared in this article to import email messages from MBOX Mails to Windows Outlook PST.

Your mention manual method is completely wrong, you didn't mention how to import saved Mac mail emails (in .eml format) into Outlook directly.

Thunderbird email client mails blocked by popup. I cannot access mails on Tbird because a pop-up appears saying I am about to alter how Tbird identifies this site. I have more than 10 accounts set up via my BlueHost Hosting system. The same popup occurs for all of them.  I can access all the mails using web mail rather than the Tbird client. I haven't any other client systems to access the mails.
The system has Spanish language and I attach a screen grab. The translation is: You are about to alter how Tbird identifies this site. It gives the server address mail.domainname.es:143
State of certificate
- This site is trying to identify itself with invalid information
The popup invites to accept security exception. If I press this it pops up again with a different domain name,

I have Avast Internet Security installed. If I look in detail Avast protections appear in what it calls Basic Shields.
Details of certificates:
Certificate of Server SSL
Domain Control Validated
Emited by
avast! Web/Mail Shield Root
generated by avast! antivirus for SSL/TLS scanning
It is beginning to look as if Avast is guilty overall. What would recommended cure be please?

Hi,

I do not really like thunderbird and I have some colleagues who have had some difficulty adapting as well. I wonder if you have suggestions on a free alternative to Outlook.

I am almost finished "rebuilding" and reinstalling the programs I had on a Windows 7 computer onto another computer running Windows 7. Just about everything has gone smoothly. I saved my Thunderbird profile, and I think Thunderbird saved my emails and other related data which I would like to restore on the new computer. I see some file with odd numbers which may be the Thunderbird profiles folder, assigned that name by Thunderbird.

I have looked at the explanation of "Moving Thunderbird Data to a New Computer" on the Thunderbird website, and have to say that I simply do not understand much of ANYTHING they are telling me to do. I have tried to follow these instructions and it seems that what they say and what I see are two very different things.

What I want to do doesn't appear to be a terribly difficult thing, but I am honestly lost at trying to dope out what I should REALLY do. I get the sense that it's supposed to be simple, but it also reminds me of that old joke of asking an engineer "What time is it?" and he starts telling you how to build a clock.

So, experts, in asking you for help, I'd like you to pretend that I am able to open folders and do the most elementary of computer tasks, maybe just one step above having to be told where the "g" key is on the keyboard. Perhaps "total dummy but not entirely hopeless" would be a good picture of me from which you can guide me to get this rectified.

By the way, why "high" priority? Because I've tried to fix this off…

Friend gets the same e-mails we do from a company. One on Wed. and one on Friday. Mine arrives in my Hotmail account and all images are shown. He uses Thunderbird and he gets no images. He gets links to everything.
I have no access to their computer now but is anyone aware of the setting he can change to allow all images to be seen?
I've sent him single photos and they arrive as images.

He sees this:

I use a CRM which has the nice feature of showing what emails were viewed, and when they were viewed.

Does this exist with ThunderBird? Or is there some other email client I can use that has this?

Thanks.

I am trying to read Thunderbird files such as Inbox in Delphi - to get the email addresses and to be able to parse the message contents and suchlike.

Is there a component or class that can do that publicly available? I believe Thunderbird stores the emails in the mbox format.

Hi All,
Here's the facts before my question:
>I have a client using Thunderbird to manage their emails
>There are 2 Users, on 2 separate computers
>Both have their email setup as IMAP
>Through a convoluted setup, User 2 can access User 1's local email folders which are stored on User 1's computer
>Total Email space taken by User 1's emails is ~85GB including the local folders (local folders ~40GB)

I would like to migrate them to O365. The problem is after converting the local folders in Thunderbird emails to a PST, how can I setup those emails so both can be accessed efficiently by both Users?

*I don't think uploading a massive 85GB PST file, then sharing the folders with the other user in Outlook would be the best solution.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!
