Hello -

I am troubleshooting why a report is generating a duplicate record.  So the person's sql I am looking at is as follows.  Please note I find the bolded sql rather confusing.  How can the bolded portion be written in a manner that is more straightforward. Please explain your answer.

 'Test' ,
 '2020-02-12' ,
 'V' ,

I've posted a similar question that's a work in progress that's related to a DC backup failure.

I have two Exchange servers that are failing to backup. The error is:

Exchange servers (both of them with the same error:

Failed to prepare guest for hot backup. Error: RPC function call failed. Function name: ISsnapshot in progress) Target machine x.x.x.x. RPC error, The RPC server is unavailable. Code 1722. Error: RPC function call failed. Function name: (ISSnapshotinprogress). Target machine x.x.x.x. RPC error. The ROC server is unavaialble. Code 1722

I ran vssadmin list writers, none of the writers are in an error state.

Can someone please recommend some troubleshooting steps to rectify this error?

I have a problem in File Explorer(FE). All the folders with the exception of Desktop and Downloads, All show the correct location except these 2 folders. When I right click on Music or Videos folder in FE for example and go to location it has D:\ which is what I expect it to show. If I open the music folder or the video and right click on that file and go to properties it will  show the following location.D:\Music\the name of that file XXCCDD. Which is correct once again. The problem occurs when I right click on an item inside the the Desktop folder{in this case it is the EE-Security folder} and go to the general tab-then location what shows up is this D:\quickaccess\EE-Security. Which is not correct because the EE folder is located on my Desktop. Desktop therefor should be in location name instead of Quick Access. Similarly, When I right click on a folder in this case it is {Drug Info-CE Slides}inside the Downloads folder under general tab-the location states-D:\quick access once again instead of -D:\Downloads\Drug Info-CE Slides.
This has never been like this . I am not sure what has happened here? See screen capture. Please help me with correcting the location.
Thank you,
Basem Khawaja

I am troubleshooting an existing FTP Connection in Windows Server 2016. This FTP connection has it's bindings in IIS set to port 21:

I can Telnet to that server from the client via Port 21.

I am getting the same errors on both the client and the server, but what's really strange is that there is a random port at the attempt of connect. Things like:

2020-01-24 14:49:14.389 Connecting to ...

2020-01-24 14:49:14.389 Connecting to ...

Is there some sort of dynamic port range that I missed? These numbers seem low for that, but I need a sanity check from someone who has seen this before.

I figured that the FTP would connect over Port 21, as I bound that in IIS.

Thanks for your help!

For troubleshooting purposes and knowledge, I am trying to find a solid reference as to what tables the contents of the Published Apps reside in?

We are running Windows 2016, XenApp 7.15.3000.47.  I am looking to upgrade to 7.15.5000.

Thanks in advance.
Hi EE,

One user can't log into a Sharepoint 2010 site they are AD authenticated but when they try to sign they get a invalid credentials message. I have recreated the user in Sharepoint User administration no luck and double-checked their group assignments in AD and office 365 no issues.

How would troubleshoot this issue what logs would consult, any guidance is welcome?

Users in One Site cannot resolve the Server "shares" in another Site unless an IP is used, so mapped drives are not connecting.
So, an example would be, I can map a drive with the following unc \\\sharename

Forest 2003 Functional level
Servers 2008 R2

No sure why the Forest Domain has not been upgraded to match the servers.

I can ping and resolve the server though, so it's not a DNS issue.

I inherited this challenge, and don't have a lot of history in terms of "why" this is happening or when it started, just it's "not" working.  Thanks for any feedback.

We have a odd issue that has only started a couple of days ago. We have tried to do some troubleshooting to find the route of the issue but to no avail.

What happens is all printers and photocopiers go offline and then come back online for a few seconds, then they go off line again. The print server is running windows Server 2008, this sits in a subnet and all printers and photocopiers sit on a These are all communicating on vLan channel 11 but since Monday this sporadic behavior has occurred. We have Dell switches which are stacked but this isn't consolidated to one area of the network its an issue across all switches, We have rebooted the stakes and checked the vLan config but it all looks OK. If you ping a printer from the print server over a 30 minute period we get a 89% failure rate.

Would welcome any guidance and thoughts as to what we can try as we have inherited the network.

I have a user who has a former employee's mailbox listed within their Outlook.  The former employee's mailbox is listed as "unlicensed" in Microsoft 365 admin center.  When the user clicks on the mailbox to try to access it, they receive the error "Cannot expand the folder.  The set of folders cannot be opened."  We want to remove this mailbox from the user's Outlook.  Unfortunately the user isn't in the office very often, so I have forgotten exactly which troubleshooting steps we've already tried.  Additionally, I don't have a lot of recent experience with Outlook troubleshooting and none at all with Exchange administration in Outlook 365.  I remember though that it wasn't an obvious fix (hence this post).  Any assistance would be appreciated.

We are troubleshooting  and phantom problem on our WAN, where the network drops off for some of our school districts about 1 time a day for less than a couple minutes. We are using  wireshark/tshark to run packet captures, via  a script that launches if a ping response fails to any of our targets. Support for the network indicates they are seeing warnings by wireshark  of duplicate IP addresses for a few IPs. They feel that issue is part of our problem but the conflicting IPs are on entirely different vlans from point A to point B. Is this simply a limitation of wireshark not recognizing the separate vlans? Is there a way to make wireshark aware with the proper capture flags, or is there really a concern about the conflicting IPs.  According to Fortinet, we have set things up correctly and it makes sense to me that there should not be an issue as long as different vlans are used. (many of our school districts use the same LAN subnet addressing)

I appreciate any insight on this issue.
I have 4 Hyper V VMs that have started showing Source = disk / Event ID 11 (The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk0\DR0) once I adjusted the paging file size on each

(I believe that is when it started - either that or pretty coincidental). I put the paging size back but the errors continued - again - that may not have been the catalyst but a coincidence.

The host machines show no issues/errors and Dell OpenManage (OSMA) reports all is well from a host perspective.

I am troubleshooting latency in a 3rd party app that is run on these servers and found this error in the Windows logs. It may not be related but I'm curious. Looks like there are multiple instances of it every 10 -45 minutes.

Any ideas?
local admin account tries to log in with a user profile disk instead of a local profile.
I'm adding a new server to our farm.  We already have 2 working servers in the farm, not counting the session broker and web broker.  This new server will not allow us to log in as the local administrator without creating a temporary profile.  I've done all the usual troubleshooting with removing the .bak entries from the registry without any luck.  I even created a new local administrator account and when I logged on it created a User Profile Disk and logged me in with that.  So my suspicion is that when I try to log in as administrator, it tries to create or use a user profile disk and fails because the UPD is already mounted on some other server.  So I'm not sure how to force the local machine to use the local folder and not the UPD one.
As part of an MS Word automation, I am using ADODB to read from a .csv file into an array, then immediately after than a different procedure uses ADODB to read from an Excel file.   See code snippets below.

Everything works great for me, but one of my users is encountering an "Automation Error, the object invoked has disconnected from its clients" error.  The error happens in cases where they do this import twice in a row.  I can't reproduce that error on my machine, so having a hard time troubleshooting.

My tool uses a string variable saved to the Registry to remember the root of a "contentlibraryfolder" from which is accesses different types of files for many functions.  Notice in the code snippets below that the CSV import does not access the contentlibraryfolder (the CSV is on the local machine), however the second snipped where it  reads in an Excel file DOES use the contentlibrary.  I suspect this may be where the error is happening.  Here's why: When the user sets the content library location to point to a  remote server (\\XXXXXX\ContentLibrary), things work fine with no error.  But when the user points to a content library on their local machine (which has an identical copy of the library files and folders), the error occurs the second time.

Anybody have an idea what might be going on?  Thanks for any pointers!

I have a client that with an intermittent issue, she has 2 screens, which I am thinking is part of the problem... but she has been fine for YEARS & no issue... she actually got a NEW computer too & the issue came back??

She has a 1"-2" WHITE Space on apps when she opens the MAXIMIZE, doesn't happen all the time, but usually she has to reboot & this fixes it, until it comes back??  When this WHITE space is on you can NOT SEE the top of the app to close or minimize or bring out of maximize... just unavailable...

I have brought down the display options to 135% norm is 100%, alot of my clients like the 125% just so everything is bigger... she wanted it a bit bigger in one of her programs & so we have been playing with that area, 150% too big, 140% is good, but the 2" white came back.

I keep thinking it is the 2nd screen maybe causing it... I really don't know, we have been back and forth alot, but the only thing that helps temporarily is reboot or changing the %... but it always comes back...

Any ideas would be appreciated??

Thanks guys!
Hello.  I've been fighting with my new Netscaler ( - Netscaler is a MPX9700 FIPS)/XenApp 7.15 (Windows 2016) environment a bit.  I am able to successfully get to the StoreFront site directly.  If I try to go through the Netscaler Gateway, I get a 'Cannot complete your request' error.

In troubleshooting, determined we also need to change the port for the acting STA's (Delivery Controller's) to use port 8080 instead of port 80.

I am able to telnet from StoreFront to the Delivery Controller's on port 8080.
I am able to telnet from the Netscaler to the Delivery Controller's on port 8080.
I have verified that the Delivery Controller's are listening on port 8080 by doing a netstat -t.

However - within the Netscaler console, Within the Netscaler Gateway under VPN Virtual Server STA Server Binding, this shows the connections as down.  I have included the port in the path.

Any thoughts on what I am missing?

Thanks in advance.
For years I have used Plantronics Supra binaural headsets along with the matching Plantronics headset amplifier/interface M10 or MX10. ( I am not at that location now.) I have the requirement that my phone audio be crystal clear at all times. I have never had any problem with clarity until yesterday. I never had considered VOIP because my internet speed was not ideal. Several months ago I got fiber and my up and down speed is 1 GIG with pings at 2ms. With this super speed I thought that VOIP would be an acceptable choice since it would save me more than 50% of my phone bill. Now that it is installed I am told that my transmitted voice is somewhat distorted and there is some sort of slight crackling in the background. I cannot live with this problem. I spoke to level one of tech support last night and he confirmed that I was indeed distorted. I have another line that utilizes the MagicJack. I phoned the tech on that line and the distortion was still present. I also switched from my headset and amp combo to a regular phone on the business phone system (Avaya Partner) and the distortion is still there. Level two is supposed to get back to me today and begin troubleshooting the problem. I was just wondering if any Expert has encountered this difficulty before? With such incredibly high isp speed the is the last thing that I had expected. If an Expert has any ideas please let me know.

Configuration wise: On the isp's router there are two phone jacks. I go from jack One …
Hi, I have a question for VPN peer IP address. I have a block of public IP addresses I can use. One of them of course is assigned to the public facing interface on my firewall. I need to set up a half dozen site-to-site VPN on the firewall with external agencies. What is the pros and cons of using the interface IP address as the VPN peer IP address for all the VPN sites v.s. using the different public IP address for each individual VPN sites? I am thinking maybe using unique IP address for each VPN peer makes it is easier for tracing and troubleshooting issues, but that's just my random thoughts. Is there a set standard and reasoning as to how you should assign IP address when there are multiple VPN peers?

Also, when it is necessary to NAT the VPN encryption domain (interesting traffic) to a public IP address, is it recommended to use an IP address other than your VPN peer IP address? It seems like using the peer IP for NAT works just fine, but I was told once it's not recommended with no clear explanation.

Thank you in advance for your comments!

We are using a RUT955 router running a OpenVpn server to software client. Specifically we have one host running OpenVpn client (local ip connecting to OpenVpn Server on the router with network

We have tried to configured certificate and network according to instructions i section "Server to Client" in

I am moving from XenApp 6.5 to XenApp 7.15 and publishing my applications.  I think i have figured out the Delivery Groups and Application Groups, but not sure how to publish an application to 1 specific server.  We do this sometimes for applications that are only installed on a couple of servers in the farm vs all or for one specific to be used for Troubleshooting purposes.

I found an old post regarding using Tags to do this but don't really see how to apply that properly.  And didn't seem to be a resolved question.

So how do I duplicate this kind of Published App in 7.15?

Thanks in advance.

Strange thing today.  My computer monitor messed up and just replaced it with a temp monitor.  All works fine but Netflix won't.  It gives error:

Error code: U7361-1255-C00D7159

When searching the error, I have:

Netflix Error H7361-1255-C00D7159
If you experience the error code H7361-1255-C00D7159 on your computer, it's typically caused by using an unsupported video output method, such as a Wireless Display Adapter. Netflix is only compatible with video output methods that support content protection (DRM). To immediately stream on your computer, follow the troubleshooting steps below. To successfully watch Netflix through a video output method, contact your device manufacturer to learn which devices support DRM protection.

The strange thing is that I only change the monitor.  If I move the Netflix apps to the notebook (my computer is a notebook with an external monitor connected), it works, so it seems it's the monitor.

The setup is:
- the notebook has an USB connector
- in that connector is a Insignia USB to Hdmi and an USB cable connected to the monitor.  I had this same setup with my old monitor.

Please let me know whats going on or is it a configuration.
I have a 2008DC that I need to decommission.  I shut it down just to make sure it wouldn't cause any problems when I remove it and when I did that I had one developer that had issues logging in to any of the servers he normally accesses with his credentials.  He also couldn't access any of his mappings for Microsoft Visual Studio.  I'm not really sure where to start troubleshooting this issue
