A virtual private network (VPN) is a network that uses a public telecommunication infrastructure, such as the Internet, to provide remote offices or travelling users access to a central organizational network securely. VPNs encapsulate data transfers using secure cryptographic methods and other security mechanisms to ensure that only authorized users can access the network and that the data cannot be intercepted.

How to dial VPNs quickly in Windows 10
Windows 10 is mostly good. However the one thing that annoys me is how many clicks you have to do to dial a VPN connection. You have to go to settings from the start menu, (2 clicks), Network and Internet (1 click), Click VPN (another click) then finaly if you have loads of VPNs like I do, you have to scroll through them all, click it AGAIN, and then finally click connect. That's 6 clicks! If i deal with 30 customers a day, that 180 clicks!
Create a folder somewhere tidy then create a batch file for each connection as follows:

@echo off
rasdial "My VPN connection name here"

Give it a nice Icon, and then once you have compiled all of the VPN connections add the folder to your task bar for a nice pop up list of all your VPNs!

Setup Mikrotik routers with OSPF… Part 2
After creating this article, I decided to make a video (no audio) to show you how to configure the routers and run some trace routes and pings between the 7 sites.

This video is the second in a three-part series that shows you how to load the configuration… In this video I will continue with Router 3 and start with Router 2 config, after the config is loaded I will enable the OSPF networks and PPTP accounts for router 5,6 and 7, watch as OSPF dynamically update the IP route entries.

Please note typo
"Router 3 will only see.." should read "Router 2 will only.."
Apologies for this mistake..

Thank you for watching and reading my video/article, please leave valuable feedback. If you liked this video and would like to see more, please click the “Good Video button?”

I look forward to hearing from you.
