Web applications are systems that run in browsers that perform functions normally associated with other client-based programs. One of the most commonly used web applications is email; instead of downloading individual emails to a local machine, the data is shown through a website. Other examples of web applications are collaborative systems like a wiki or an online game.

Hi Guys,

I'm trying to find a way to develop SSO for my company.
We have two web applications which developed by ASP.NET.

I will be happy with your recommendations.

Note: please if you can refer to how to develop SSO with .NET technology as ASP.NET, MVC.

Thank you.

Hello Experts,

I'm currently using a booking application by a company called Koparent http://www.koparent.com/en/

For some reason the application will not show equivalent currencies prices, see image. In the image you can see that the default price is £50, however the application won't show the equivalent price in US Dollars.

If someone is familiar with the application can you please let me know why I'm unable to get the equivalent prices in alternative currencies

Hello,

Hi hired 2 years ago a freelance to develop our web and software whose is hosted in a 3rd party panel (cdmon.com).

The problem is that freelance is missing, and he purchased the domains with his name, leaving us with no control over our web and software.

We have the access to the web app, but no to our web site, we also cant download our data from the webapp to develop another site. We need to take control over our sites.

Is there any way to copy the DDBB from the web app? we are in negotiations with CDMON panel to prove that we are the right owner of the site.

Any tip about all of this will be welcomed.

Kind Regards.

Hi experts.

I made this website

It works fine in Denmark, but they cannot access the website in India.
Im trying to troubleshoot on this.

Can you help me? Can you access the website, and which country are you in while doing so?
What could i do to make it work?

Should i just change to .com? How, why can i know if India is blocking .dk domains?

:S

Best regards

Hi,

I've encountered the below icon when documenting a web application. In Chrome (and in my app) it seems to be used to access various applications.

What is the icon?
For documentation purposes, does it have a formal name other than (e.g.) "Applications Icon" that most/all readers would understand? (My audience has decent technical knowledge.)

Thanks.

Hey guys,
I have a long term project I am going to work on. I don't know when I will get there but I need to build an Excel like interface as a web application.

So I'm guessing this will need a lot of JavaScript. So I know basic JavaScript, some jQuery. I have never focused on and learned JavaScript. My plan is to start there.

Udemy is trying to get me to take a React course, I'm tempted to take it just to have something hip on my resume.

What other JavaScript frameworks should I learn?

This is long term, was hoping some people could guide me with this confusing new world of hip JavaScript frameworks. Don't know how to sift through the madness

Dear experts, how can we migrate or import the saved logins in web browser when joining a domain? We would like to keep the passwords in web for users when they move from local to domain account. Please suggest.

I have code that takes a nvarchar(max) value to run a SP.
If I run the SP directly on SSMS it works fine, the SP does the job. But using ASP Classic code to pass the parameter which is a very long XML string to the SP is giving errors saying the data is getting truncated. Here is the code we currently have:

set sp_usp_xmlparse = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Command")
    sp_usp_xmlparse.ActiveConnection = MM_bluedot_STRING
    sp_usp_xmlparse.CommandText = "dbo.usp_XMLParse"
    sp_usp_xmlparse.CommandType = 4
    sp_usp_xmlparse.CommandTimeout = 0
    sp_usp_xmlparse.Prepared = true
    sp_usp_xmlparse.Parameters.Append sp_usp_xmlparse.CreateParameter("@RETURN_VALUE", 3, 4)
    sp_usp_xmlparse.Parameters.Append sp_usp_xmlparse.CreateParameter("@blob", 200, 1, -1, qnrBlobXML)
    sp_usp_xmlparse.Parameters.Append sp_usp_xmlparse.CreateParameter("@UserID", 3, 1, -1, UpdateStatus__MMColParam)
    sp_usp_xmlparse.Parameters.Append sp_usp_xmlparse.CreateParameter("@FirmID", 3, 1, -1, UpdateStatus__MMColParam2)
    sp_usp_xmlparse.Execute()

Any ideas what could be wrong?

I am migrating two windows 2008 VMs (crystal server) and two RHEL 5.8 VMs (oracle servers)
from current production server to a new larger physical server.

They assigned temp IPs for the migrated machines until testing is completed.

The issue is that I need to test web applications on the new machines
and I cant migrate the current domain name and SSL certificate to the new ones.

1) Do you know how can I set a temporary test domain and set it up in DNS for testing?
Do I need to buy SSL certificates and domain for testing?

2) Would I be able to migrate the current production SSL certificates and domain name
to new machines when we go live or I need to create a new CSR on new machine and resend to certificate authority for regeneration? the machine names are different from old to new machine.

I have a 2012 R2 ADFS 3.0 server on my internal network and a 2012 R2 Windows Application Proxy in my DMZ. I have published two web apps. My issue is a double login prompt at the ADFS login page. I enter my email and password and login. It immediately reloads the same login page. I enter my creds again, and then it takes me to the web app. Both logins appear successful. There is no indication of incorrect creds.

This issue only happens for one of my web apps. The other web app only prompt once like its supposed to do. Both web apps are hosted on the same internal server.

HI,
On the following web page:
http://prebid.org/dev-docs/faq.html

When I view the source, I see (among other things):

<ul class="dropdown-menu">
              <li><a href="/overview/intro.html">What is Prebid?</a></li>
              <li><a href="/overview/what-is-prebid-org.html">What is Prebid.org?</a></li>
              <li><a href="/overview/prebid-members.html">Prebid Org Membership</a></li>
              <li><a href="/overview/prebid-management-committees.html">Prebid Management Committees</a></li>
              <li><a href="/wrapper_code_of_conduct.html">Wrapper Code of Conduct</a></li>
              <li><a href="/principles.html">Principles</a></li>
              <li><a href="/dev-docs/faq.html">FAQ</a></li>
              <li><a href="/blog.html">Blog</a></li>
            </ul>

Open in new window

However, at least some of the text e.g.
  1. What is Prebid?
  2. Prebid  Org Membership
  3. Prebid Management Commitees

does not appear on the live page. How can I view this info on the page itself? (This page is not from my client, but rather, from a third party whose info we need. I was alerted to some change by one of these web-crawler apps (Versionista) that emails me when something's changed on a monitored page.

Thanks.

I am looking for a plugin for an ASP Classic web application that uses Bootstrap/SQL

We have some text fields or HTML editors where currently users have to type, I was wondering if there is any software out there that would allow a user to use their mic to enter the text into the HTML editor with speech.

Is there any good examples to explain how should we build the data pulling section in mobile app development? I heard about the word asynchronous often but what is it actually?

I need something that explain the concept rather than pure programming examples (but good to know if it's also provided)

Any clues?

Thank you.

I developed some software which processes ACH payments. I am concerned about the overall security of ACH because the customer can make changes to the account (acct #, routing etc.). I was wondering if someone could share some guidance on the best way for a company like mine to protect itself from financial liability.

I have considered enhanced auditing, time delays for changes and two-factor for changes. Consider the use case of a small shop where there are only one or two people at the company. We also process for large companies. Just trying to cover the bases and show due care. What works best to cover my company and my customer from fraud as well?

Hi,

When we add a new feature to our web application, I insert a "NEW FEATURE" banner into the appropriate page. e.g.

NEW FEATURE: The system now supports reciting pi out to 20 decimal places. Click here for details.

I'm now documenting a change to existing functionality and want to announce this update in a similar manner. But, it's not a new feature. What would be a viable alternate term? ENHANCEMENT? SOFTWARE CHANGE? <Something else?>

Thanks,
Steve

Hello Experts currently our website requires CAC or PKI to get to login screen.  Is there anyway to capture CAC Id's as users login?  Rather than having 1500 users send us their CAC Id's & manually tied to their account?

In our web based software there is a date input which works well in Chrome, Edge and Opera according to localization, but it doesn't work in Firefox and Safari.

As a workaround we built the Modernizr extension like this:
<script>
    $(function(){
        if (!Modernizr.inputtypes.date) {
            $('input[type=date]').datepicker({
                  dateFormat : 'yy-mm-dd'
                }
             );
        }
    });
</script>

The date shows well with the default value e.g. 2017-11-02 but when the user clicks in it the format changes and it sets a new date (1902 jan. 2).

I attached the pictures

default_value.jpg = Default value
on_focus.jpg = Clicked
after_focus_click.jpg = when it loses focus, without changing the value
on_focus.jpg
after_focus_click.jpg

We had a field which was nvarchar 8000, it was changed to a text field to accomodate more characters.

I currently have the code below to call the Stored Procedure, but the parameter is for 8000 characters, how should I change it to allow the entry of as many characters as the text field allows?

<%

Set UpdateSignature = Server.CreateObject ("ADODB.Command")
UpdateSignature.ActiveConnection = MM_bluedot_STRING
UpdateSignature.CommandText = "UPDATE Userlogin SET Emailsignature = ? WHERE  userid = ?"
UpdateSignature.Parameters.Append UpdateSignature.CreateParameter("MMColParam", 200, 1, 8000, MM_IIF(Request.Form("signature"), Request.Form("signature"), UpdateSignature__MMColParam & ""))
UpdateSignature.Parameters.Append UpdateSignature.CreateParameter("MMColParam2", 3, 1, 4, MM_IIF(Session("Userid"), Session("Userid"), UpdateSignature__MMColParam2 & ""))
UpdateSignature.CommandType = 1
UpdateSignature.CommandTimeout = 0
UpdateSignature.Prepared = true
UpdateSignature.Execute()

%>

Open in new window

Something else that may be relevant is that this field is intended to save the user's signature block, if they add an image (their logo) then the HTML editor converts it into characters and this is where 8000 characters don't seem to be enough.
I am not sure if because we are including an image I may need to use a different type of data for the user, otherwise I guess text fiedl will work.
