Web browsers are applications used primarily to display documents, files and media from the Internet, identified by a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) that can be a page, image, video or other file. Some browsers require the use of add-ons or extensions to safely render the information they receive; others have systems built into them to perform the same functions.

Good moning !

I use this code to edit the quantity of products from a button. With Chrome it goes very well but with Firefox it sends me an ajax error.
This happens when I change quantities quickly.
If I click on Chrome several times, everything is fine, but on firefox it crashes.
Can you guide me please?

function BTN_EDT(i){
	var $button = $(this);
	var val_R = document.getElementById("ARR_NumId_" + i).value;
	var val_Q = document.getElementById("ARR_Quantite_" + i).value;
    $.ajax({
		type : "POST",
        url: '_produit-update.php',
        cache: false,
		data: {val_R:val_R, val_Q:val_Q},
        error: function(e){console.log('Ajax Error',e);alert('Erreur Ajax');},
        success: function(response){console.log('Ajax Success',response); location.reload(true);}
    });
}

Open in new window

Thank you in advance

We are currently facing the issue that chrome.exe registers as pdf default app as itself. We set the filetype association for adobe reader or other pdf applications during logon, which is working fine.
Unfortunately Chrome will register as default app during the day and because of this pdf files will open in chrome which is quiet annoying. We already disabled the following setting in chrome - unfortunately without luck. Chrome still keeps registering as default app

GPO Setting Google Chrome - open PDF with external PDF Application

Hi Experts,

in our company we use exchange 2013 and OWA.
One user has now problems to login.
He gets the login error 500.

OWA
This just happens when he used CHROME.
With using IE the login works.

Do you have any idea why not in CHROME for this user ?
When I test with CHROME, it is ok.

Hi Experts,

I find many times after doing some changes on my site that it does not work properly, and IT guys suggested that we clear cache and cookies.

Wondering how can I make it work w/o having users manually clear their cache and cookies.

In case that is not possible, can we add a button/utility that will do do the clearing for them?

Thanks

This is a situation I have going on at work that’s happening to one PC.

The website uses download files that have no extensions, and what the user does is after the file downloads, clicks on the file and a window comes up asking what application to use. This is when you manually select Adobe Reader to open the file as shown in file named C.

Picture A is what you see when downloading the files in Chrome. You can see in the below left corner the files downloaded.

For some reason, when this particular user clicks on the file the window does not appear asking what application to use. Instead, the screen appears shown in file named B.
You can open the folder, and you’ll see the file that’s download, click on it then select Adobe Reader for it to work. However, the user wants this to work just as it does for other users, not have to browse to open the file.

The file does not have a set extension, and for this reason I do not believe you can associate the file with Reader.

The users the file opens with have ask where to save each file before downloading turned off, picture D, and I’ve tried this one the user that’s not working but still has same problem.
I’m clueless at the moment as to why the working users can click the unknown file in the downloaded file area in Chrome, and the window comes up asking what to do with the file, but why 1 PC does not have the window come up and has this problem.

I’ve tried clearing the cache in Chrome, uninstalled/reinstalled …

Forwarder in DNS ManagerGoogle Search ErrorHi,
  I have SBS2011 Network and starting yesterday no one can do the search in Google Chrome. It returned "This site can't be reached".
  Last night I added 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 in Forwarders tab in DNS manager and the problem went away.
 However this morning, the same problem is back.
 I restarted DNS Server and DNS Client in Services.msc, but to no avail.
 Users can do search using msn.com or yahoo.com for now, but as long as it uses Google search engine, it fails no matter which browser they use (IE, Firefox)
 Can you help?

Somehow Yahoo has weaseled it's way into becoming my default search engine. I want Google, NOT Yahoo. I'm using Chrome.

How do I fix this, and (if possible) prevent it in the future.

Thanks

None of the Internet browsers is able to launch

I have Windows 10 on my Laptop. Recently I am experiencing issue with Internet Browsers unable to launch (Chrome , FireFox, Internet Explorer).
Initially I thought downloading AVG anti Virus and Malwarebytes were the cause of this issue, but even after I have gone and removed them, the issue is still not resolved.
I tried to restore the system to previous versions, but I do not see a very old date.  the oldest version is 9/20/2019, I went ahead and restored the system to that date version, but it is still has not resolved the issue.

I do not have Windows 10 DVD, I remember it was a free upgrade from Windows 8.1 to 10.
I am not sure if there is a way to repair the OS.  I am writing this question from another computer as my laptop cannot launch any internet Browser.

Any Assistance will be very much appreciated.

Thank you.

Computer is Windows 10 v1903 running both Malwarebytes Premium and ESET NOD32 Antivirus.

The behavior occurs with both the Edge browser and Chrome.

The behavior is that the browser window, whether it was set to full screen or not, very rapidly reduces somewhat in size then expands back to its previous size multiple times in succession over a period of several seconds. This behavior is intermittent, but frequent. The behavior occurs regardless of whether or not there is something actively in the browser window, e. g. typing while composing email in Gmail.  I've watched it happen while I've been remoted into the computer just passively watching both Chrome and Edge.

In addition to scans from Malwarebytes and NOD32, I've run online scans from from Norton and TrendMicro.

I have not a clue what might be cause this bizarre behavior that's making it very difficult to work on the computer, and would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks

We have google already installed on a few hundred computers.  I'd like to default the below setting to 'on', but not force it, so users still have the ability to change it themselves.  I found a group policy to force it, but I just want to change the setting once for everyone.  There must be a way.  Can't find a setting for this in the registry.

'Download PDF files instead of automatically opening them in Chrome'

we have inherited a WordPress website for one of our partner organisations for keeping the basic content up to date etc, hosted by a 3rd party - and for company policy we need to determine if the site collects IP addresses of visitors, and if so ensure there is a disclaimer detailing for what purposes. The honest answer is we don't currently know if it captures that information or not, and I am unsure where exactly to begin to check to see if it is being captured or no? Do all WP sites collect visitor IP Addresses or would it require something custom, where and in what format is it likely IP addresses of visitors would actually reside if the site does collect them? Is there anything you can do as a visitor to determine if the site is capturing your IP address? Or where would you start if unsure.

Out of interest why exactly would you want to collect the IP addresses of your site visitors, e.g. what benefit do you get from doing so and is this fairly common practice?

I have a similar question really about cookies being used on a site. I am pretty sure we don't and can see nothing to indicate we do but again how could this be verified to be 100% sure.

I have a page I put the code on to have the accordion style of FAQ's at http://www.henricomg.org/garden-advice/

Unfortunately, it won't open up.  I am not familiar with how to troublehoot javascript issues in Chrome.

I followed the directions from this article:

Please help me to understand why the accordion won't open up.

Mac (Mojave) Browser Speaker Failure

My speaker works fine, but sometimes, when I play a video in the browser, there is no sound.

I see the volume is set to max. This is true for Chrome, Safari, and probably other browsers.

I saw the other day, I had that problem but right clicked and saw a menu. I chose "unmute" to make the sound play.

It's as if there is a mute which is not supported by certain web pages.

Suggestions?

Thanks

I would like to know if anyone can help me configure in a easy to understand steps how the Adblock app works? I have it installed on my Chrome browser as an extension. I am having every time to click RELOAD in order to block the ADS, it works fine for that particular page but once I go to another Tab or Window , the ADS are back again. I want to know an easy and simple fix to block the ADS before I navigate to a given website if it's possible or once I am there to block the ADS for once and for all for future access to that website? I am open for other alternatives/recommendations from the Experts as long as it is  to easy and simple apps to use to block the ADS.

Thank you,

Basem

Yesterday I got an interesting SPAM that looked very much like the scam you see here.

I right clicked on the shortcut and copied it to the clipboard then pasted it into chrome on my test machine.  It takes me to what appears to be a legit bankofamerica website.  I have attached a screenshot.  I did not enter my passwords, but it sure looks 100% legit to me.

Here is the url:  https:/ / billpay-ui.bankofamerica.com/ imm/ PaymentCenter/ Index/ 8404?csbi=644077671&b0=20190916192841396056
I have added a space after each / to make it safe.

I've been told that some legitimate looking URL's will automatically redirect me to a bogus website, but how does that work? If the domain controller does the redirecting wouldn't bankofamerica.com avoid a bogus address? Or does the redirecting occur on the routers that the packets hop through?

In other words how can this particular link get me in trouble?

Something has happened to radiogeorge.com that is wreaking major havoc.

A couple of days ago, when I went to a page to start music playing for that "channel," the jukebox image was not appearing and instead, there was a notice that said "Adobe Flash Player is blocked."

This has never appeared before and with no "how-to" for a site visitor to unblock the player, will certainly result in a huge egress of visitors to the site.

When I tried a page in the Smooth Jazz section, clicking on a channel link resulted in a popup for DOWNLOADING the page, which is .htm!

I called my web host server, Hostmonster, and the tech I spoke with was basically clueless, asking about WordPress and seemingly not comprehending my reply that the site was built (by me) in HTML (using Front Page).

I am very anxious about this since I have accounts that are paying to be included in the operation.

Also: I recently had some coding work done to ultimately replace the Flash players since Adobe is pulling the plug next year. I had a page set up with the new replacement player, and was pleased to see that it also worked if you brought up the site on a cell phone. However, that has stopped working as well, as of the day before yesterday.

This is a fairly desperate situation, so if you can say specifically what this is and what need to be done to fix it, I would very much appreciate hearing from you here on Experts Exchange.

Hi, I have just noticed that when I try to make Firefox smaller by clicking on the center (square) type icon on the upper right, it just kind of re positions the full screen but does not make it smaller.  I tried it on Chrome and it worked just fine as well as Excel and Word.  I want to have an excel document take up the left half of the screen while I look stuff up in Firefox on the right side of the screen.  I've never run into this before and would appreciate your help.
Thanks

Hello all,
In Google Chrome, I am getting an error that states This site can't be reached.
If I try the same site in Internet Explorer it works great.
This is a WIndows 10 Pro computer hooked up to AD, where the DNS is from the main AD server.  No other computers are having this issue.
I did the following:
Restarted the DNS client
Reset TCP/IP
Ran Network Troubleshooter
Reset Google Chrome settings
Reinstalled Chrome
After each thing I tried, I rebooted the computer and tested and get the same error.
There is NO proxy being used.
I have no idea what to do next to fix this error
Thanks in advance for your help,
Kelly W
