Hi, I'm learning GIT to be able to manage a new website. I get the repository, the pull, the push, the add, the commit, the branches, all of that. What I'm not getting is how my beautiful web page finally makes it to the server and out to the world.

Does that happen when I pull it to the repository?

Hi,

I am looking for a free Windows Based tool which can help me build an Android as well as iOS App from a responsive website which I have already prepared.

If possible the tool should be able to communicate to wampserver on my local system and show me how app looks on Android and iOS

Thanks in advance.

Hi everybody.
I have a table built through DataTables plugin and I need to attach to each row a div in order to get an effect similar to the one you have in mobile gmail app.
More precisely, I want that when user long presses on a row, the hidden div becomes visible hiding the row and occupyig the exact same space: in the hidden div I have the button to deete that row.

This is the code to build the table:
function fillTable() {
	loaderText('Loading...');
	loader.fadeIn();
	setTimeout(function () {
		if ($.fn.dataTable.isDataTable('#grid')) {
			t = jQuery('#grid').DataTable();
		} else {
			t = jQuery('#grid').DataTable({
				"initComplete": function () {
					var api = this.api();
					if (!(api).data().count()) {
						jQuery('#grid thead tr th').addClass('not-arrow');
					} else {
						jQuery('#grid thead tr th').removeClass('not-arrow');
					}
				},
				"ajax": {
					"url": baseurl + "data.php?user_id=" + user_id
				},
				"initComplete": function () {
				// HERE I ADD THE DIV
					$('#grid tbody tr').each(function(){
						$(this).append('<div class="td-buttons" >Delete</div>');
					});
				},
				aoColumns: [
					{
						"mData": 0,
						"mRender": function (data, type, full) {
							return '<div class="user"><a class="avatar" href="#"><span><img class="img-circle" src="' + baseurl + full[0] + '" alt=""></a></span><span class="username"><a href="#">' + full[2] + ' ' + full[1] + '</a></span></div>';
						}
					},
					{
						"mData": 1,

Hi everybody.
I have a div which contains 2 man elements, an anchor tag and a span: the first should contain an image (the user avatar), the second the user name.
I woud like to get 2 results:

1) the user name should be aligned with the vertical center of the image
2) If the user name is too long for the container div should wrap remaining aligned with the vertical center of the image

The result should be something the one you can see in attached image:

alignment and word wrapping
Here you find a jsFiddle to play with. In the fiddle you fins relevant markup and related relevant css rules... which fail :)

Thank you for any suggestion.

are there any useful tools that whilst browsing a certain site lets you know the cookies that it is saving to your device? i.e. name/path/content etc? there is now legislation in the EU around use of cookies so identifying what sites are using and storing on the users device is becoming more of a concern.

As i am not from a web dev role, can I ask the experts - does every site store cookies on the users device, or can you give me a laymans example of sites whereby they would not need to store cookies on the end users device? would the cookies ever store personal info about the user? or is it quite anonymous information?

Hi everybody.
I'm developing a mobile hybrid app using Bootstrap carousel to manage page trainsitions.
Everything works fine but a little issue: my client wants a div with a coule of buttons remain fixed in the first page of the carousel. I set its position to fixed but it doesn't take effect: the whole page is scrolling up...
Any idea?

on two deployed pages, one Web page is having no problem to the displayed picture file, but on another Web page, the picture file is too big. Why?

are there any particular metrics you can think of to audit a website to determine whether the content is current? we have some sites developed by 3rd parties which don't appear to be subject to routine content management, but without having some standard checks which can audit the sites against its a bit difficult to prove our concerns are valid.

I'm trying to replace the token "[RANDOMNUMBER]" in a string but my code is not working? I've tried single and double backslashes and it hasn't worked?
function detokenizeTags(imgSrc){
	var rn = Math.random() + "",
        rnd = rn * 10000000000000;
	imgSrc.replace(/\[RANDOMNUMBER\]/g,rnd);
        return imgSrc;
    }

I'm trying to figure out how to grab the PDV_n9559649 value when a sample 3rd party URL is hit:

https://polldaddy.com/n/413dd20f300b3fe5532c4c3b08bf9684/9559649?1477900000003

and renders the following:

PDV_n9559649='c3312b14d3|945';PD_vote9559649(0);

But trying to read into a JS function on my page somehow? Is that even possible with some type of callback function? If not what other alternatives do I have?

Hi,
I do not know why I cannot show the popup as expected, by these codes below. Why?
$(function () {
    $("div[id$='Panel_Msg']").dialog({
        autoOpen: false,
        autoResize: true,
        resizable: false,
        title: "Error",
        appendTo: "form"
        //open: function (event, ui) {
        // $(this).parent().appendTo("form"); //allow .Net buttons to post back
        //}
    });

});

function closePopup0() {
    $("div[id$='Panel_Msg']").dialog("close");
}

function openPopup0() {
    $("div[id$='Panel_Msg']").dialog("open");
}
...
    <div class="right up">
    <cc1:ToolkitScriptManager runat="server"></cc1:ToolkitScriptManager>
	<asp:panel id="Panel_Msg" style="display:none;" runat="server">
		<asp:Literal id="L_Msg" runat="server"/>
		<br /><br />
        <div style="text-align:center;">
		    <asp:Button id="OKButton" OnClick="closePopupMsg" runat="server" Text="OK"/>
        </div>
	</asp:panel>
    </div>
    ...

                    L_Msg.Text = "Invalid User ID and Password have been entered or you're disallowed to access!";

                    ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock(this.Page, this.GetType(), "call", "$(function () {openPopup0();});", true);

Open in new window

The details are now being shown on the Web page but I expect that the Popup would appear while now it does not.

is there any accurate way to determine when a web site was initially 'lauched', and when the content on any page on the site was last updated? We need to pick some sites to audit them against WCAG guidelines, but our current inventory of sites either internally developed or developed on our companies behalf is at 100. The policy is that upon procurement of a site to be developed by a 3rd party, is our company will audit the accessibility and security of the site / app - so I was hoping to filter our list of 100 - to the last 10/20 that were launched - to see if we followed the policy.
0
I am trying to familiarise myself with the WCAG guidelines - most of the requirements have either level A, AA or AAA. Are these relevant, i.e. is A a bare minimum standard, and AAA the ultimate best practice in accessibility, or are the levels representing something else?

I am working with a website provided by the city government which deals with architectural plans and drawings, using a package called ProjectDox. When I go through the various panels and try to upload a "drawing", I'm presented with a Windows Explorer window to select the folder & file I want to upload. The problem is that the allowable file types do not include pdf files which are supposed to be included. The system admins insist that it's something wrong on my machine since no one else is having this problem, but I've tried 3 different machines all with the same result.

So, my question is: when a website opens an upload window on your machine with specific file type restrictions, where does this list of file types come from? I'm having a really hard time believing that it's coming from anywhere else other than the web server. Can there be something on my local machine that would override the list provided by the web server?

I'm using IE11 (required by this website) with Silverlight (also required). Have tried on Windows 10 and 8.1.

Mahalo,

Harry Zisko

We are using the following script :

	  	window._pq = window._pq || [];
   	 _pq.push(['track','AppBegin']);

I need to find a combination of Python, Selenium and Browser version that works best on Windows 7.  I have tried Python 3.5.2, Selenium 2.53.6 and various versions of Firefox but none of them will do what I need done.

I just need to select all of a page in front of me that is a cms page so it isn't showing the html tags or body tags.  The source code isn't a solution either because it is a cms page it leaves out just the content in the window that selenium navigates to. I have tried xpath and that is why I am thinking I need to make sure they all 3 work together well because it shows the following error.

I've been asked by my CEO to research a e-commerce website that is selling in our industry.

He would like to know things like,  volume of visitors per month,  what language is the site constructed with,  and any other technical information I can get out of the website to get an idea of how successful the site is.

I really have no idea where to start on this, because obviously I am not the site administrator.  This is the competitors website!

Please suggest anything that might help get some stats from a site.

Thanks

Hello experts.
I m wondering what is the best way to create and store form elements into database and then use the data.
The first idea was to create three tables
1. formelements (type) like:
formelements_id    formelements_type
1                                 Text
2                                 Date
3                                 Select
........

2. formelements_attributes
formelements_attributes_id             formelements_attributes_name
1                                                          label
2                                                          name
3                                                          value
4                                                          class
5                                                          style
6                                                          id
7....................

3. formelements_to_attributes
formelements_id               formelements_attributes_id     (with relation one to many)
1                                          1
1                                          2
1                                          3

So for example if i want to create a custom field for a product i can select the type and show his attributes, fill the values i want etc.
First problem in which way must i store this in database.
1. Create a table to store the created form fields?
like
formfields_table
(columns)
formfield_id   formfield_type  formfield_label    formfield_id …
