Windows 10 is a personal computer operating system featuring the "universal application architecture" (UAP); apps can be designed to run across multiple devices with nearly identical code, including PCs, tablets, smartphones, embedded systems, Xbox One, Surface Hub and HoloLens. Windows 10 also includes a virtual desktop system, a window and desktop management feature called Task View, the Microsoft Edge web browser, support for fingerprint and face recognition login, voice-based search (Cortana), new security features for enterprise environments, and DirectX 12 and WDDM 2.0 to improve the operating system's graphics capabilities for games.

AutoHotkey Switch-Case
Many programming languages have a Switch–Case capability. Since its first beta in 2003, AutoHotkey has not had one. Finally, in the recent 28-Sep-2019 release of Version 1.1.31.00, it now has Switch–Case. This article discusses it and shows a sample usage as applied to a previous post here at EE.

This is a helpful article. One thing to remember is that keeping one (or more) Start.Me tabs open is going to consume significantly more memory than browser bookmarks.

I used to love XMarks but years ago I ditched it when I was getting synchronization and corruption issues on a daily basis. These days I just use the default browser sync in Chrome (though I'll be migrating to Firefox soon).

Hi Andrew,

Great article! Having recently struggled with a Safe Mode boot on a W10 system, I can certainly see the value of this utility (haven't tried it yet, but it's on my to-do list). Kudos to you for writing the article and sharing with our community; and kudos to Nick for writing the software and providing it at no cost.

Many loved their Windows Phone for its superior design. That included the contemporary ringtones. Now, having an iPhone, you are kicked back at square one with a dull variety of ringtones of yesterday. Rejoy, here is how to retrieve the superior Windows Phone ringtones and bring them to your iPhone.

For those interested (Andrew), I managed to bring the ringtones to an old Android (Sony Xperia) phone.
It was nothing more than:

  1. Connect the phone via USB. It will appear as a normal, external drive in Windows Explorer
  2. Open this drive (Xperia arc S) and locate the folder ringtones, placed on the SD-card of the phone
  3. Copy the m4a Essential Collection files (not the m4r files) to that folder
  4. The ringtones will, on the phone, immediately be listed by there tagged title

I wouldn't expect it to be much different on a newer Android phone.
