Windows 2000 is an operating system for use on both client and server computers. It is the successor to Windows NT 4.0, and is the last version of Microsoft Windows to display the "Windows NT" designation. Four editions of Windows 2000 were released (Professional, Server, Advanced Server, and Datacenter Server) that shared a core set of features, including many system utilities such as the Microsoft Management Console. All versions of the operating system support NTFS 3.0, Encrypting File System, as well as basic and dynamic disk storage. The Windows 2000 Server family includes support for Active Directory services, Distributed File System and fault-redundant storage volumes.

I have used Paragon Hard Disk Manager and partition magic for these operations.  I used Paragon server suite to repartition a 2003r2 windows server sometime ago with excellent results (no loss of data and a total of 1:45 hours downtime - on a saturday).

Great article Joe. Very helpful.
Sidebar: If you're wondering how I captured the UAC dialog box, see my EE article, How to disable the secure desktop when User Account Control (UAC) prompts for elevation.
I cheat and do it by capturing the entire action in an Oracle Virtual Machine installation from the Host side. The other benefit to that method is that I need not concern myself about ever accidentally showing sensitive files and/or folders when zooming around in Internet explorer while creating video tutorials :-)

Cheers..
