Windows Server 2012 is the server version of Windows 8 and the successor to Windows Server 2008 R2. Windows Server 2012 is the first version of Windows Server to have no support for Itanium-based computers since Windows NT 4.0. Windows Server 2012, now in its second release (Windows Server 2012 Release 2) includes Foundation, Essentials, Standard and Datacenter, and does not support IA-32 or IA-64 processors.

Hello all,

I've got an issue with a server that is running Windows Server 2012 (Not R2) where it doesn't go to the lock screen after a specified amount of time.

I have tried editing group policies, power saver options (both normal and advanced) and changing a registry directory to bring up an additional option in power saver advanced options, none of which work.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Much appreciated.

Simplify Active Directory Administration

Administration of Active Directory does not have to be hard.  Too often what should be a simple task is made more difficult than it needs to be.The solution?  Hyena from SystemTools Software.  With ease-of-use as well as powerful importing and bulk updating capabilities.

we have installed a fresh Exchange Server 2013 Server on two Servers Mailbox Server and CAS Server on Windows 2012 R2 Server. we are facing IIS issue on CAS Server, internal error 500 appear, when logon on to OWA or  ECP on CAS Server also exchange management shell not connect. image is attached. we have installed internal CA certifcate in IIS. issue resolve on restarting of IIS ServerError when starting exchange management shell on CAS Server.

we have to restart the IIS Server once or twice a day to resolve the issue. please suggest a solution

logon to any domain joined machine with local administrator of that machine, install GPMC console and start GPMC console with run as domain administrator and revert back the GPO settings

How can I share out an old *.exe application to multiple users in an AD environment who are connected from home via VPN? The requirement is that the execution of *.exe must be from the office network, the *.exe application calls a bunch of databases from other servers in the office and will disconnect if the application runs from the user's computer via VPN.

I am thinking of setting up a Windows 2012 servers and allow RDP connections for users to run the *.exe on the server from home(via VPN). Are there any other ways?

Need to discuss with the business, high patch count still required is because of an old sharepoint server (old copy of office installed on server) and SQL on 2003 server, which should have been retired, but is still on and being used because data has not been migrated.

Also a Print Server we cannot update with 99 patches missing!
