Hi,

I installed Filezilla server 0_9_60_2 on a Windows Server 2016 box with default options.  Am unable to get the admin UI to appear though.  It is running per the task manager but not appearing on the screen.

I looked at other similar issues online and they refer to a 'start minimized' option that should be set to 0.  I see nothing like that in the current xml configuration file.
?

Thanks!

Random server/windows 10 VM's presenting Kernel error 41 on a host server.

VM's are Windows 10 and Server 2016

The Host server does not have any events in the error log that match up with the time/date of the events of the VM's unexpected shut downs.

The events are so random and nothing explains the events as far as I can tell through event logs or Microsoft forums.

Has anyone come across this?

Hi, I am about to demote several old physical domain controllers (Server 2008 R2) from my AD environment that reside at my branch sites about 20 miles away in each direction.

I already have my new replacement domain controllers (Server 2016) in place and they are working as expected...have been for weeks now.

Already verified replication is working as expected.

Already transferred the FSMO roles to one of my new domain controllers.

Already verified AD Sites & Services is in order with my new domain controllers.

Also, I am working towards a collapse core environment, meaning I am bringing all my services back to my main site and will depend on my WAN connections to service my branch sites.  For one, all the traffic must come back to my main site before leaving to the outside world.  Another reason all of my other main services reside at my main site, as well as several other reasons that just make sense to go this route.

With that being said, I have setup my DHCP services at my main site among replicating DHCP servers.  So, all of my AD Sites & Services subnets are now pointing to my main site.

I've just finished up changing DNS on all of my static nodes in my network pointing to my new domain controllers for DNS services.

Currently, thw FFL & DFL are obviously at Server 2008 R2, but after I remove all of these Server 2008 R2 domain controllers from my environment I plan to raise the FFL & DFL to Server 2016.

So, with all that laid out, my …

I'm getting an Event 13540 error related to File Replication Service:

Event 13540

The File Replication Service cannot replicate c:\windows\sysvol\domain because the pathname of the customer designated staging directory:
    c:\windows\sysvol\staging\domain
is not the fully qualified pathname of an existing, accessible local directory.

Does any know how I can resolve this error?

HI Experts,

I am having difficulty pushing out refreshed Group policies from Windows Server 2016 to Windows 10 clients.

They are all failing with "The remote procedure call was cancelled."

I have had some success turning off the firewall on one machine and then it successfully pushed it out, but obviously I don't want to turn off windows firewall.

I tried adding an inbound and outbound rule on the firewall on port 135 for TCP but this doesn't work.

Can anyone please help advising what firewall ports need to be open on the client PC for the group policy to get pushed out successfully.

Many thanks in advance.

Greetings

Dealing with an issue here and do not understand as how this came to be,  I have 4 Dc's that are showing the same behavior where i cannot see the account policies from within the Default Domain GPO.  I have moved the PDC Emulator to all 4 servers and tested in hopes that i would be able to setup an account security policy of password length and complexity.  i have also checked for backups of the GPO and find none.

when i view the default domain policy under settings i see the account policies
Default Domain GPO Settings view
but when i go to edit them from the GPO, they are missing
 Defualt Domain Edit View
any ideas on how i can regenerate the default domain policy??

Hey Experts!  Running into a rather odd issue and figured I'd ask the community of experts.

I'm using the Intelligent Provisioning > Express OS Install on a DL160 G10 server and the options available to install from is:
  • DVD Media
  • SMB/CIFS (Windows Share)
  • An anonymous FTP Server
  • Install ClearOS from internet

I don't have a DVD drive and the ClearOS isn't the OS I need.  I thought there would be a USB option but I don't see it.  Is there a way to add that option?  Is there an updated provisioning version I need?  I haven't run into this situation before and I'd like to get Windows Server 2016 on this server.

I appreciate everyone's help with this.

Hi,

I am auditing a large file server using Netwrix. The goal is to audit all files modifications like changed, deleted, added and credential or owner change.

For some share folder, i also want to audit List folder / read data. Until now, I know what to do.

List Folder / read data generates a lot of entries in the Security events log, this is why I don't enable it on all shares.

Netwrix use an agent scan all the files and create a state-in-time report of the files and folders permissions in time. So, that process is accessing millions of files and generating millions of audit events.

I am receiving a lots of events 4663 even in folder that I haven't enable Liste folder / read data. I am trying to find a way to eliminate those events to extend the security log retention.

The maximum size of the security log is 4GB and some audit plans in Netwrix doesn't have enough time to catch all the events before they are getting remove because it is getting full.

The solution, it is lower the number of audited events.

The following screenshot shows my auditing settings. LCDomainUsers is a Local Domain Group that contains Domain Users from 2 domains (forest).

The next screenshot shows a generated audit event. Note that SRVSHARE1$ is the computer name and it is not part of the group LCDomainUsers. I don't understand why this event is generated. The process name NwxFsAgent.exe is the Netwrix agent.

Hello Experts,
We are upgrading our hybrid domain to server 2016 level in order to utilize Azure AD.
Can we have server 2016 domain controllers and server 2019 member servers and still be considered a 'native mode' domain?
Also, can we have server 2016 domain controllers and have server 2012 member servers and still utilize Azure AD?

Thanks in advance for your insight!

Hi Experts,

after a migration from computer, user and profile to a new domain we face some error.
When the migrated client logs in, opens outlook, then it is not working. They use Office365.

When I disable the modern authentication, then it works.
Do you have any ideas about this issue ?

And current version is running on windows server version 1607 (OS build

HI,

I want to load Edge when users login to their computer, with a particular home page, in Full screen.

I can achieve this in Group Policy with Internet Explorer, but I would prefer to do it in Edge.

Can this be achieved in Group Policy on a Windows Server 2016 domain?

Thanks in advance.

Important, I have no access to the vcenter, can I do this inplace upgrade and finish the install ?
Or do I need access to the vcenter or ESXi ?

We are trying to rollout User Profile Disk, but we are experiencing issues.  We have researched and read a number of posts that Server 2012/2016 User Profile Disk (UPD) can corrupt user profiles and many others have mentioned to not use it.  Our goal is to have users logon to any Windows 10 desktop (that is joined to the domain) and they receive their Windows profile.

Please share your thoughts and personal experiences with User Profile Disk, most important if you are successfully utilzing it the way we are seeking.  If you are using an alternative, please feel free to share that as well.

Thank you for your assistance, thoughts and suggestions.

Hi,

Where can we purchase CAL license on  Windows terminal server?

Can we access to MS site and just purchase it or if we have Volume Licensing we can just take it?

Hi,

I have Windows 2016 terminal server. I need to purchase CAL license per user.

How CAL license works? Is one license per user account or the number of user who access the terminal server?

For example, I have 20 users but maybe only 10 users will connect simultaneously.

So is it 1 CAL = 1 specific account? Or when it exceed 20 connections it stop getting more user?
