1. Purchase your Domain Name via Namecheap.com, Godaddy.com, or Hostgator.com
2. Purchase a Hosting account with Hostgator
3. Copy your supplied name servers from the Hostgator Billing email sent to your email. (ex. ns392.hostagator.com, ns393.hostgator.com)
4. Login into your domain Registrar > Select "Manage Domains" > Select "Manage DNS Settings" > Select "Enter Custom DNS" > Paste the supplied Nameservers from Hostgator. Click Save.
5. Navigate to your Control Panel (cPanel) link from the Hostgator Email and login
6. In cPanel under the Domains section select "Add on Domains"
7. Add your new purchased domain, and create a password. Save this password.
8. Go back to your home cPanel. Under Databases select "MySQL Databases"
9. Under "Create New Database" create a new database. Save this database name.
10. Still in the MySQL database window, create a new user and password under "Add New User"
11. Now in the "Add User To Database" section add your newly created username to the database. Click Add.
12. In the next window select "All Privileges" and click save
13. Open a new Window and go to https://wordpress.org/download/ and download the latest version of Wordpress
14. In cPanel under "Files" click "File Manager" and select "Document Root for: yourdomain.com"
15. Once in the File Manager, click the "Upload" button in the upper left icon bar, and upload your Wordpress zip
16. Once the wordpress zip is uploaded select the zip and click the "Extract" icon from the menubar
17. You should now see a wordpress folder with files in it. Open the Wordpress folder, and select all the files by holding Shift. Once all the files have been selected click "Move File" in the menu bar.
18. Merely delete the path "wordpress" so the files will be moved into your root folder
19. Once the files are moved to the root path, navigate to your website: http://yourwebsite.com
20. You should now see a page asking to create a "Configuration File". If you do not see this page you either have a) Moved the Wordpress files to an incorrect location or b) Your custom Nameservers have not resolved yet. (this can take up to 24 hours)
21. Next click "Create Configuration File", and enter in the full MySQL database name, user, and password we created in cPanel. Leave the other fields as is. Click "Create Configuration File".
22. Now create your Wordpress User and PW, and Run the Install
23. You should now see a template Wordpress page when you navigate to your website
