In this video, I will show you HOW TO: Install VMware Tools for Windows on a VMware vSphere Windows virtual machine on a VMware vSphere Hypervisor 8.0 (ESXi 8.0) Host Server, using the VMware Host Client. The virtual machine used in this tutorial have Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022 installed, but this procedure can be used for most modern supported versions of Microsoft Windows.

I am also going to discuss the benefits of using the virtualised VMXNET3 driver versus the Intel E1000E driver, and why you should use it, I also demonstrate the replacement of the E1000E network interface, with the VMXNET3 network interface, as network interfaces are hot plug and play.

and I discuss build versions of VMware Tools, and how you can obtain later versions of VMware Tools from the VMware Tools package repository.

I also mentioned Ivanti Patch for Endpoint Manager, which can automatically patch your VMware Tools when you update your Windows security and critical updates.
