In this video, I will show you HOW TO: Install open-vm-tools for Ubuntu 22.04 Linux on a VMware Ubuntu Server and Desktop Linux virtual machine on a VMware vSphere Hypervisor 8.0 (ESXi 8.0) Host Server.

Video Steps

1. Connect to the VMware vSphere Hypervisor 8.0 (ESXi 8.0) or vSphere vCenter Server using the VMware Host or vSphere Web Client.

2. Checking if VMware Tools is installed in the Virtual Machine.

Check the virtual machine summary to check if VMware Tools is installed.

3. Nothing to do!.

You may find that  open-vm-tools is already installed as part of the installation on your version of Ubuntu 22.04 Desktop and Server, and therefore does not require installation!
