[Books] Any good Delphi books for the Delphi experts?
I am looking for very good books about Delphi. The "Delphi ... Developers guide" and "Mastering Delphi ..." are two good books for experienced Delphi developers. "Delphi COM Programming" is also very interesting reading material, just like the "Tomes of Delphi: ..." series.

If you look at the yearly top-15 you'll notice that I'm in there. Therefore, I'm not looking those basic books that explain the basics. I know the basics! I know the basics for over 20 years by now. I don't need another book starting at the beginning...

Preferably I'm looking for books that go deep into the more technical aspects of Delphi. And of course I'l looking for information about the latest Delphi versions. But it seems at this moment that I'm looking for something that doesn't exist. Most books I see are good enough for beginners and intermediate Delphi developers but I need something that's more of a challenge. Something like the books I've mentioned above.

So if you know any other good books for the Delphi guru's here then please share those titles with us. :-)

Sorry, another out of print classic, "Hidden Paths of Delphi", Danny Thorpe & Ray Lischner -- a bit out of date though

I happen to have both "Delphi Component Design" and "Hidden Paths of Delphi" already. They are reasonable good books but very outdated. And like so many other Delphi books, they were published between 1995 and 1999. Delphi used to be extremely popular back then but slowly lost it afterwards. I'm looking for more recent titles that I might have missed.
It just seems as if there are no new Delphi titles anymore...

I am also looking for good Delphi books... but I don't think there are ...
Maybe you should open another question with good resources on the web, though you will need to be more specific, like asking about a specific technology as COM or something similar ...

Well, good web resources for Delphi are reasonable easy to find. I already know a few, including Experts Exchange itself. Other sites are:
Borland Developer's network: http://bdn.borland.com/
Delphi's Formatting Expert: http://www.dow.wau.nl/aew/DelForExp.html
Delphi Gems: http://www.delphi-gems.com/
Delphi Magazines: http://www.delphizine.com/ and http://www.thedelphimagazine.com/
Delphi Super Page: http://delphi.icm.edu.pl/
GExperts: http://www.gexperts.org/
Madshi's site: http://help.madshi.net/ and http://www.madshi.net/
Unofficial newsletter: http://www.undu.com/

And quite a few more... A simple Google search will often result in the other sites. But finding a good book isn't as easy as finding a good site...

Why don't you write some new Delphi books for the rest of us to enjoy.

A book entitled "Real World Delphi Programming" that had a couple of chapters each to Active Directory, Multi-Threading, Performance Tips, etc. would be of interest to a lot of Delphi people. This kind of book can be partitioned out to multiple authors.  Or maybe you have a better book idea. If you are interested in such a project, I have lots of contacts in the tech-book publishing industry. What do you think?

It's an interesting offer but I'm not a writer. Besides, English is not my native language, even though it seems it is. :-)
I did consider writing some stuff about Delphi but the biggest problem is finding an appropiate subject and, more importantly, the time to write it. Still, a book that several EE Delphi experts contribute to would make an interesting thing to read. That would be interesting, won't it?

I thought you were German for some reason.  What is your native language?

I'm Dutch. Netherlands. German is close enough but it's still a different language. I think the word Dutch is a bit confusing since it looks like Deutsch which is the german word for german, if I'm not mistaken...

Yes, I know that there are some good Delphi books in especially the German language. Actually, they write lots of other good books there too but I'm always waiting for the translated versions of these books. Which apparantly are never written.

And I do agree. Some of the experts do have the knowledge to write some good E-books about Delphi and with enough of those e-books we might even get one on real paper. The EE Delphi guide... :-) Would be interesting but who is going to arrange it all? And do the experts here even have enough time to help with this? I myself tend to run out of time quite often, lately. Thus for me it's a bit difficult.

And finally, if you are interested in e-books then about which subjects? Sure, someone could write a nice e-book about how to send fractal images over a TAPI phone line to a dot-matrix printer but would it be interesting enough for everyone to read? Would be a nice challenge though... :o)

Time to close this Q.

@gwalkeriq, 2 book references
@mnasman, good link to Amazon

So, I'll split the points. I like the Amazon link from mnasman so he answered my Q, for 65 points. gwalkeriq gets 60 points. :-)
