Exchange 2010 Not Showing Non-Delivery Reports outside the domain.
Hi ,
When i send an email from an external address i.e activeaddress@gmail.com to a non-existent email address on my domain i.e nonexistent@mydomain.com , the exchange server 2010 does not notify the sender (activeaddress@gmail.com) with an NDR explaining that the email was not delivered. Below is a list of the scenarios .
NDR Is Received :
- If i send an email say from an active address in my domain i.e (activeaddress@mydomain.co m) to a wrong address on my domain i.e (nonexistent@mydomain.com) i receive an NDR Notification .
NDR Is not sent :
- When sending an email from an address outside my domain i.e user@gmail.com to a wrong address within my domain i.e (nonexistent@mydomain.com) . hence the User user@gmail.com above assumes the email is delivered since they do not receive a non-delivery notification (NDR).
- When an email is sent from an active address in my domain i.e FROM (activeaddress@mydomain.co m TO a wrong email address outside my domain the active address above (activeaddress@mydomain.co m) does not get an NDR .
Troubleshooting Done :
- I have checked the NDR settings from Hub Transport properties and NDR is active .
- There are no pending mails on queue
- I do not have a spam filter #/Firewall stoping the delivery of NDR's.
- I have checked the Retries Section from EMC>Server Configuration>Hub Transport Properties and retries are set to minimal.
Is there anyone who has experienced this and can anyone help?
Thanks ,Charlie
