Not sure what to do to get around this. Any ideas?

I suppose it's the receiving party that cannot or will not accept the mail.

Try one thing, to make sure the problem isn't yours: send the same person a mail from Gmail. If that one bounces too, they have something to sort out on their side.

Then contact them (by mail ;-))

I just got hold of them and it turns out that person no longer works in the company. All other active employee emails go through.

A strange message for that sort of thing.
