We have 3 Microsoft Hololens' at our office and have been writing simple applications specific to our business.  This technology, and it's future, is amazing.

Whats the development stack like for programming one of these?

Unity is the development environment we used - which isn't specific to the Hololens.  Actually, Unity and Vuforia are the most popular for developing Augmented Reality apps across any platform.  To be honest, I know little about them (we have a real developer for that).

Nice I've been working with Unity for unrelated stuff. Cool program but expensive to deploy on non standard platforms - I can't imagine buying the license to deploy on hololens is cheap.

Agreed! This AR stuff is so incredibly cool. Looking forward to when the hardware gets smaller and cheaper so it can be used as a general consumer product. I know I'd love to have a head's up display. Could really help if you forget someone's name! Plus, Pokemon Go would be so much more immersive. ;-)

I'm curious, Matt, what sort of simple applications are you using it for? (Or is that a secret right now?)

That sounds like great information which our community would love to read about. Someday you should write an article about it.
