2. Review manual processes for updating VMware Tools and virtual hardware versions

3. Create a new baseline group in vSphere Update Manager

4. Attach the new baseline to a VM and then scan the VM for compliance

5. Remediate VM to update the VMware Tools and virtual hardware version in one process

6. Verify updates worked as expected

According to VMware KB 84339, if the iSCSI adapter IQN is not the user setting then it is auto-generated by ESXi, and the IQN may change post upgrade.
